CHAPTER 265: CHAPTER 265: THIS IS WHAT DATING IS

The Shaw family’s commotion, this little interlude, didn’t affect anything at all.

Nancy Allen didn’t care at all, nor was she afraid.

In fact, Godfery Shaw underestimated Nancy, thinking she was too frail and harmless. How could someone who could make the Wright family’s entire household fall apart be harmless?

Everyone at the Imperial Garden felt that the pressure around the young master wasn’t as intense anymore. The Young Madam truly lived up to her reputation.

At this moment, Nancy was taking Godfery Shaw out on a date.

Anyway, it was still early today, and there was nothing much to do, so they decided to go out.

It’s funny to say, but neither Godfery Shaw nor Nancy knew much about dating.

Not knowing what to do, Nancy decided to go shopping.

Godfery didn’t have any objections. Right now, whatever Nancy said was what they did. As for the company, Basil Smith could handle things for a couple more days without any problem.

Basil Smith sneezed after just meeting with clients, feeling almost frantic with anxiety.

Godfery Shaw and Nancy didn’t go to those bustling luxury shopping areas but instead went to the shopping street frequented by young people and students.

This was where young people liked to hang out, with little milk tea stations, accessories and hair clips, and a row of street stalls selling various trinkets.

Godfery had never been to a place like this before.

Nancy laughed and wrote, "You’ve never been here, have you? I know this place well. Before, when I didn’t have enough money, I bought a lot of my things here. It’s cheap, and I’m good at bargaining."

Godfery followed Nancy gently as they walked in.

Nancy ran to a milk tea shop, pointed at one option, and held up two fingers to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper enthusiastically said, "Two cups of Supreme Lemon Fruit Tea, right?"

Nancy nodded.

The shopkeeper looked at the couple in front of her, feeling as if she couldn’t even speak smoothly.

Where did such beautiful people come from?

As soon as they entered the shop, they immediately increased the store’s foot traffic.

Everyone quietly watched Nancy and Godfery Shaw, unable to resist squeezing into the shop.

"Look, look in the milk tea shop; what a celestial couple."

"Oh my goodness, they match so well!"

This was equivalent to a student street, not the circle Godfery Shaw usually mingled in, and basically, no one recognized him here.

With the crowd, Godfery’s already somewhat dark expression softened when he heard those whispered comments, simply shielding Nancy in front of him, preventing anyone from pushing against her.

Nancy also heard these well-meaning discussions and pressed the notebook against Godfery’s chest, writing, "See, I told you this is what dating is, they’re saying we match."

Godfery hummed in agreement, his face a bit flushed.

Two cups of iced lemon tea were ready, and Nancy handed Godfery one cup.

Taking a sip, Godfery found it a bit sour.

Nancy didn’t want to write anymore, so she whispered into Godfery’s ear with a voice as low as she could, asking, "Is it good?"

Godfery nodded against his better judgment, "Very good."

With her so close, Godfery’s face got even redder, and he drank a big gulp of iced lemon tea to calm down a bit.

As they left the milk tea shop, Nancy’s hands soon filled with octopus balls, candied haws, and fried chicken skewers.

Of course, for these seemingly unhealthy foods, Godfery didn’t let Nancy eat much, just a taste of each, and only let her drink half a cup of iced tea.

Nancy cooperated as well and didn’t insist on eating more.

After wandering through the snack street, Nancy bought herself a pair of slippers. With a buy-one-get-one-free deal, she also picked a pair for Godfery.

The two pairs of slippers with ears, one big and one small, one pink and one gray, made Nancy very satisfied.

Next, Nancy bought many household items.

Godfery gradually filled his hands with large and small bags.

Godfery truly lacked such an experience; in the past, he could always have his purchases delivered to the Imperial Garden by the store.

But that’s different here; if you buy a pair of slippers, who’s going to deliver them... So Godfery’s load got heavier, but he didn’t stop Nancy from continuing to buy things.

Nancy went to a brand-name bedding store last and picked out two sets of her favorite four-piece bedding sets.

These household items were meant for Amelia Wright to take back to the Imperial Garden.

Though the Imperial Garden still looked as it did five years ago, there weren’t many things belonging to Nancy five years ago.

Back then, she didn’t treat the Imperial Garden as her home, so she didn’t leave much of a mark.

Now she wanted to leave traces of her life in the Imperial Garden.

Nancy sat on a bench waiting for the store to package the bedding sets, looking back at Godfery carrying bags upon bags, unable to help but laugh.

After laughing, she looked pitifully at Godfery, extending her hands and silently acting cute, "Godfery Shaw, I’m tired."

Godfery instinctively wanted to drop everything and hug Nancy.

Then he realized that everything was stuff Nancy carefully picked and bought and couldn’t just be put down anywhere.

Nancy cheerfully looked at Godfery’s dilemma.

Then Godfery went to the shopkeeper, said something, and left everything there.

Nancy raised an eyebrow.

Godfery reached out, picked her up sideways, and calmly said, "I gave the shopkeeper some money to have everything mailed back to the Imperial Garden."

Nancy couldn’t help but laugh, looking at the shopkeeper beaming, not even wanting to ask how much this money was; it might have been more expensive than all the trinkets she bought.

Behind them, the young girls were so excited that they almost screamed, unable to suppress their voices.

"Look, a princess carry!"

"Oh my, who wouldn’t be touched by such a delicate scene? Goddess, look at me; I’m too ugly to sleep!"

With a one hundred percent turnaround rate, Godfery Shaw carried Nancy away.

The two returned to the Imperial Garden.

By this time, Joyce had finished preparing dinner, calling out, "Young Master, Young Madam is back, wash your hands and eat."

The two went to wash their hands together.

The bubbles from the hand soap covered both pairs of hands, one large and one small.

The sink was wide, but the two stood so close, shoulders touching. This ordinary scene made Nancy’s heart beat slightly faster.

She raised her hand, touching Godfery Shaw’s nose, with bubbles sticking to this cold, aloof man, and laughed immediately.

Seeing her laugh, Godfery let her playfully, adopting a compliant expression.

Nancy’s heart raced even more, thinking how such a commanding man could make such expressions!

She felt that if things continued like this, being with Godfery Shaw, she might need heart medication.

Nancy felt happy; this was what dating was!

The dining table was already laid with an abundance of dishes, all personally made by Joyce.

Joyce urged, "Eat more, children, it’s been a while since you returned, and you’ve gotten thin."

Joyce hoped Nancy would find the food delicious as she did before; he would genuinely care this time.

But when Nancy heard the word "children," she frowned.

Back then, she found it comforting when Joyce called her that, saying he treated her like a younger generation, and she believed it.

But later, when Godfery got hurt because of her, Joyce’s gaze changed, and his attitude shifted.

Nothing was said aloud, but Nancy could sense the change.

Hearing the word "children" again now, Nancy instinctively rejected it.

She regained her calm expression and said, "Joyce, call me Young Madam, or you can use my name."
