Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes
Chapter 387 - 389: Emma Lewis Hits Back
CHAPTER 387: CHAPTER 389: EMMA LEWIS HITS BACK
Nancy Allen’s confused gaze turned towards Emma Lewis.
Emma Lewis feigned impatience and said, "What are you looking at? You must have been disobedient again. You promised me you’d behave, yet you’re going full tilt making trouble for yourself. Believe it or not, I’ll smack you, sis!"
This was the Emma Lewis that Nancy was most familiar with, looking dashing in men’s clothing, speaking a bit sharply, always unclear about her own gender, perpetually wanting to be the brother.
Nancy slightly tilted her head, seemingly confused as she looked at Emma.
After a while, she finally extended her hand wrapped in gauze towards Emma Lewis.
Emma’s eyes instantly turned red.
She stepped forward lightly, avoiding Nancy’s wounds, taking her hand.
Nancy instinctively shrank back a little.
Emma reassured her soothingly, "Don’t be afraid, no one can bully you anymore!"
Nancy, like a wounded little beast, finally found someone she could trust. She said nothing, her expression blank, curling up into a small ball in Emma’s embrace.
Emma could no longer hold back, wiping away tears from the corners of her eyes.
Under Emma’s comfort, Nancy finally fell asleep, letting down her guard.
Basil Smith quickly came over to reattach the blood transfusion plasma for Nancy.
Emma glared at Basil with anger.
Basil sighed helplessly, speaking in a low voice, "I didn’t know about the issue at Imperial Garden before."
Emma also lowered her voice, "Alright, I believe you didn’t know, but you must not stop me from doing what I plan to do next."
Basil hadn’t had a chance to ask what Emma planned to do, as she had already exited the room.
Basil followed worriedly, and saw what Emma was up to.
Emma had picked up a baseball bat and was hitting people.
The first person hit was Julius Shaw at the door.
One blow landed on Julius Shaw’s arm.
During the second swing, Julius caught the baseball bat, his gaze cold and murderous as he looked at Emma.
Emma wasn’t scared at all, trying to pull the bat back, and when she found he was holding on tightly, she kicked him hard when he was caught off guard, reclaiming the bat.
Emma seemed surprised at how weak Julius Shaw was.
These past few days, due to Nancy’s troubles, Julius Shaw had almost stayed awake all night, and the exhaustion and tension left his physical condition quite poor.
Emma said fiercely, "If you dare to hurt Nancy, I don’t care how pitiful you are, I’ll give you a beating, otherwise I can’t swallow this!
Why should Julius Shaw hurt people like this and still be fine, just because he’s a lunatic?
I’ll hit a lunatic too!
After speaking, Emma left. Julius looked towards the room, not chasing after, standing firmly outside Nancy’s door.
However, Emma’s spree wasn’t over, she went around Imperial Garden with the bat, hitting people.
Godfery Shaw’s trusted bodyguards perhaps aware of their wrongs, did not dare fight back.
Clement came out clutching a computer, trying to stop her, "Stop, what right do you have to hit people! Miss Lewis, even if you married Basil Smith, you can’t just hit people in Imperial Garden."
Emma rested the baseball bat on her shoulder, let out a cold laugh, and suddenly smashed it onto Clement’s laptop, which fell to the ground with a screen shattered like a spider web.
Clement stared at the laptop on the ground, looking as if he was dumbfounded with fear.
The bodyguards who themselves were beaten without resisting had strange expressions.
Everyone in Imperial Garden knew Clement’s laptop was his lifeline and that no one could touch it.
Someone couldn’t help but complain.
"Miss Lewis, hitting people is one thing, but smashing a laptop is too much."
"Yeah, Jacob is just a bookworm with a computer all day, he did nothing wrong, and the Young Madam’s troubles have nothing to do with her."
Emma ignored these complaints, arrogantly pointing the bat at Clement, saying, "I’ll tell you why, because I am Nancy’s relative. Because you lot helped the tyrant bully her! You’re called Clement, aren’t you? If I remember correctly, last time Nancy was in danger, it was connected to you too. You promised you’d defuse the bomb in ten seconds, but when Nancy was in danger, you needed a minute. If it weren’t for Godfery Shaw sacrificing himself to save her, those few seconds could have cost Nancy her life. I don’t care whether you lacked skill or had ulterior motives, don’t show up in front of me anymore, I can’t stand the sight of you!"
Those who initially complained for Clement looked at him in shock.
None of them knew such an incident had occurred.
Clement instinctively stepped back, a trace of panic flashing in his eyes.
Emma couldn’t be bothered and continued beating people.
Holding back only made her angrier, retreating only made her feel cheated.
Anyone who bullied Nancy and Sophie, she’d hit them all back!
Hailey Smith initially wanted to intervene, but seeing his brother upstairs watching without stopping Emma, he joined in and even beat up his friend, Black.
In the end, only Joyce was spared, not because Emma was generous, but because Joyce was older; she wouldn’t hit the elderly or children.
After hitting everyone, Emma holding the bat, told them, "I’m telling all of you, no matter whose orders you’re under, if you dare hurt Nancy or the people of Ink Manor, think about whether you can get past me first!"
Everything in Imperial Garden fell silent.
No one dared to contradict her this time.
Emma finally relieved the anger in her heart, casting a proud look at Basil Smith before returning to her room to guard Nancy.
Basil, thinking of Emma’s previous words, glanced at Clement thoughtfully.
The Young Madam’s condition wouldn’t improve anytime soon, so Imperial Garden shouldn’t have so many idle people around.
Basil went downstairs.
Everyone looked at Basil, thinking he was coming to give them an explanation for Emma’s beatings.
Instead, they heard Basil say, "The Young Madam is now afraid of strangers, so Imperial Garden can’t keep so many people. Hailey Smith, Black, Leo, you stay to maintain Imperial Garden’s security. Joyce, reduce your female workers by two-thirds, the rest of you temporarily leave Imperial Garden."
The maids and workers being reduced didn’t matter much.
But those in front of Basil were Godfery Shaw’s long-time trusted aides.
Everyone’s expressions changed, looking more upset than before being beaten.
"Basil, we are all the Master’s trusted aides, we are responsible for the Master’s safety, you can’t make us leave."
Basil replied coldly, "Safety? Why don’t you go upstairs and see what state the Master is in under your protection. I’ll say it again, Imperial Garden can’t house this many people, I’m making arrangements, not negotiating with you."
The Master had once given the order that when he wasn’t around, Imperial Garden falls under Basil’s jurisdiction.
They were reluctant, but dared not disobey, leaving one after another in frustration.
The doctor Len Taylor, brought here forcibly, was also sent away by Basil with a silence fee.
The female bodyguards trained by Hailey remained, obedient to Hailey but questionably trustworthy, they were stationed on the periphery of Imperial Garden.
The whole of Imperial Garden gradually fell silent under Basil’s meticulous arrangements.
After arranging everything, Basil finally approached Julius Shaw, "Second Young Master, I want to talk with you."
Julius ignored him.
Basil continued, "Whether it’s about you and the Master, or the Young Madam’s situation, we need to talk."
Julius looked up at Basil, finally leaving the doorway and heading towards the study.
Basil followed.
The two entered the study.
Basil straightforwardly asked, "Second Young Master, did something happen between you and the Master?"
Basil is different from the simple Hailey Smith.
Hailey can only see the surface, seeing the Second Young Master out of control, harming the Young Madam.
Basil saw more underlying issues; the Second Young Master’s personality was different this time and lingered too long.
Julius squinted at Hailey with murderous intent, "What do you want to ask?"
