Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes
Chapter 390: Pain Like Never Before
CHAPTER 390: CHAPTER 390: PAIN LIKE NEVER BEFORE
After Julius Shaw went out, Emma Lewis looked at Nancy Allen.
Nancy Allen still seemed a bit dazed, but her mental state was clearly much better.
Emma Lewis reported Nancy Allen’s reaction to a few doctors who were in a discussion.
The doctors unanimously decided not to expose Julius Shaw for now.
As the saying goes, "only the one who has tied the knot can untie it," and the biggest reason why Nancy became like this was because of Julius Shaw and Godfery Shaw. Now, allowing her to temporarily overcome her anorexia could also be considered a form of treatment.
Emma Lewis was only worried that Julius Shaw might just be acting on a whim and wouldn’t be able to maintain the facade for long.
After all, according to Basil Smith and the others, as Young Master Shaw’s personality, he is violent, malicious, and uncontrollable.
Emma Lewis felt that Julius Shaw’s behavior was a bit different from how they described it.
Not only Emma Lewis thought so, but everyone in the Imperial Garden felt the same way.
In the past, when Young Master Shaw lost control, nobody could approach him. Back then, Basil Smith had to pay the price of dislocating an arm just to get close enough to inject a tranquilizer.
But now they often saw Young Master Shaw wearing a mask in the Imperial Garden, sometimes so calm that it was hard to tell if it was really him.
Emma Lewis found Julius Shaw in the study, dazed with a mask in his hand, and said irritably, "Nancy is looking for you."
Julius Shaw turned to look at Emma Lewis, who felt a chill as if being stared at by a bloodstained beast.
Julius Shaw put on the mask.
Once the mask was on, all the murderous aura was concealed, and he seemed like a different person.
It was a long time after Julius Shaw had left the study that Emma Lewis snapped out of it.
How deeply must one disguise oneself to suppress even their true nature?
If Nancy ever gains clarity and discovers the truth, what will happen to Julius Shaw?
Will he lose that mask and completely turn into a demon?
Emma Lewis shuddered at the thought and decided not to dwell on it.
Julius Shaw quickly headed to the room.
In the room, Nancy was sitting on the bed hugging her legs. Upon seeing Julius Shaw appear, she promptly dropped her uneasy posture and quickly exclaimed, "Godfery, where did you go? I thought you’d left."
The sight of Godfery Shaw leaving back then was chiseled into Nancy’s heart, making her worry about him leaving even in the throes of mental breakdown.
Julius Shaw sat at the edge of the bed and softly said, "I’m not going to leave. I’ll never leave."
Nancy immediately smiled.
That pure and innocent smile was one that Julius Shaw had never seen before.
Julius Shaw stared at Nancy, lost in thought.
Is this how she is in front of Godfery?
Suddenly, Julius Shaw clutched his chest, feeling a sudden, unbearable pain, as if he could barely breathe.
Nancy noticed Julius Shaw’s abnormality, tugged on his sleeve, and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you unhappy? If you are, I’ll take you out for some fun."
Julius Shaw felt the pain worsening, but he suppressed the wild, rampant ache, calmly saying, "I’m not unhappy. Does Nancy want to go for a walk?"
Nancy hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
"Okay, let’s go for a walk," Julius Shaw agreed.
Nancy changed her clothes. As she was thin, her previous clothes seemed a bit too loose, not that she noticed, but others felt heartache seeing it.
The two walked out of the room together.
Nancy stood at the door, looking inside the room, then outside, with a puzzled expression, as if this was not her room.
Julius Shaw stepped forward, took Nancy’s hand, and she immediately dismissed this small matter, no longer puzzled.
When they went downstairs, everyone below was stunned.
Emma Lewis was the first to run over, lowering her voice to say, "Where are you taking her?"
Emma Lewis didn’t call Julius Shaw by name, fearing Nancy might get agitated hearing it.
Nancy, seeing Emma Lewis inquire, took the initiative to answer before Julius could speak, "I’m taking Godfery Shaw out for a walk."
Emma Lewis slightly opened her mouth in surprise.
No one dared to stop them, simply watching as Nancy and Julius Shaw walked out of the villa’s gate.
Basil Smith immediately instructed, "Hailey Smith, you and Leo follow them discreetly. Do not disturb them, but ensure Young Madam’s safety."
Emma Lewis interjected, "I’ll go with Hailey."
Basil Smith nodded in agreement.
Hailey Smith and Emma Lewis quickly followed.
They didn’t get too close, just followed from a distance.
Nancy walked very slowly, pausing every few steps for a rest. Julius Shaw didn’t rush her, only accompanying her. Seeing she was too tired, he carried her on his back, and Nancy pointed the way with her slender fingers.
Following along, watching the direction they were heading, Emma Lewis’s expression became complex.
They went to the orchard of the Imperial Garden.
Hailey noticed Emma Lewis’s odd expression and asked in a low voice, "What’s wrong, Sister-in-law? Is there a problem with the orchard?"
Emma Lewis explained, "Not long ago, Nancy and Godfery Shaw went to the orchard together. I don’t know if your big brother’s dual personalities, Julius, knows about Nancy and Godfery’s past. If he does, and now she’s taking him there thinking he’s Godfery, it would be devastating."
Hailey thought for a moment and said, "I’m afraid Young Master Shaw won’t feel good about it."
Emma Lewis snorted, "He deserves to feel bad. What right does he have to pressure Nancy like this? She doesn’t owe him anything. I heard when they were young, Nancy even saved him. Even if she owed him, it’s paid off. Why treat her like this?"
Hailey sensibly agreed, "Sister-in-law is right."
Emma Lewis was satisfied with Hailey’s response.
They continued to follow, watching Nancy and Julius Shaw arrive at the orchard.
Suddenly, Nancy reached out to embrace Julius Shaw, indicating for him to lift her to pick the fruit.
Julius Shaw could barely contain the dark color in his eyes.
Nancy said lightly, "Godfery, why are you dazing out? Lift me up, and I’ll pick the ripest apple for you."
Julius Shaw lifted Nancy.
Once, he would lift her high, but she refused to pick. He was so jealous, he resorted to using Sophie to coerce her.
Now, Nancy picked the reddest apple and handed it to him with a smile.
He couldn’t, only Godfery could.
Julius Shaw staggered slightly, clutching at his shirt.
Why is it so painful?
If anyone else had said he was not as good as Godfery, Julius Shaw would only respond with malice.
Maliciously telling everyone Godfery was gone and would never return.
But Nancy needed Godfery, and he felt pain.
It was a kind of pain he had never experienced before, more than the physical hurts he woke up with each time.
Darkness, suffocation.
Nancy didn’t want him.
Julius Shaw grasped the collar of his shirt, intending to tear it open, to breathe.
In the next moment, everything went dark, and he fainted.
"Ah! Godfery!" Nancy screamed.
The red apple in her hand fell, rolling far away.
Just like a heart dripping with blood, whose heart it belonged to, unknown.
