Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes
Chapter 49: You Cannot Harm Godfery Shaw
CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49: YOU CANNOT HARM GODFERY SHAW
Basil Smith shouted these words, and the person on the sofa’s breath caught.
Basil wasn’t sure if the current state of the Young Master would allow him to hear his words.
He quickly continued, "Young Madam didn’t leave willingly, she has a severe stress reaction to hospitals. Because she went to the hospital to see you, in her weakened state, Marsh Smith forcibly took her away. Young Madam’s stress reaction was so severe that now she’s blind."
And the weakened, injured Young Madam, who couldn’t see, was locked in the confinement room by them.
Godfery Shaw abruptly stood up, the pull of the handcuffs nearly flipping the sofa over.
"Open it," his voice carried a savagery suppressed to the limit.
Basil gritted his teeth and stepped forward to unlock Godfery Shaw’s handcuffs.
Because right now, the Young Master gave him a feeling that if he didn’t unlock the handcuffs, the Young Master would break his own hand bones to free himself.
As soon as the handcuffs were opened, Godfery Shaw left the room like a hurricane, heading to the confinement room.
Basil quickly followed.
When the door to the confinement room was opened, both Godfery Shaw and Basil saw the scene inside.
Amelia Wright lay on the ground like a withered flower, blood from her palm pooling miserably on the floor, making it hardly noticeable if she was still breathing.
Basil was shocked, realizing that the Young Madam’s condition might be more severe than he had imagined.
Godfery Shaw had already walked over; his eyes were already bloodshot with suppression.
He bent down and carefully picked up Amelia Wright from the ground, trembling as he placed his hand by her nose, as if to confirm she was still breathing.
He held her tightly in his arms, trembling all over.
Basil watched from behind, unable to discern whether the person before him was the personality of the Young Master or the Second Young Master.
Clearly possessing the malice of the Second Young Master that could rip everything apart, yet with a touch of the Young Master’s rationality, not harming the Young Madam in the slightest.
This discovery shocked Basil.
For so many years, they hadn’t found a way to control the Young Master’s loss of control, yet the appearance of the Young Madam managed to do so.
But now, such an important Young Madam had become like this because of their misunderstanding.
At this moment, the unconscious Amelia sensed a familiar aura, shaking her head repeatedly, saying, "Go away, I can’t..."
"Can’t what?" Godfery Shaw asked hoarsely.
"I can’t hurt Godfery Shaw," Amelia murmured.
Amelia’s unconscious murmur, the painful struggle carried a kind of sorrowful fragility, making anyone who saw it feel heartache.
Godfery Shaw felt like a string in his mind, taut and enduring, suddenly snapped, and the suppressed emotions flooded in, no longer concealable.
He didn’t want to keep his distance from her any longer; he couldn’t bear it anymore and wanted to get close.
"Amelia, don’t be afraid," he lowered his head, pressing his forehead against Amelia’s, "No matter what you’ve done, Godfery Shaw would relish it."
Basil thought, this was the gentlest tone he had ever heard from the Young Master in his life.
Gentle enough to bring tears to one’s eyes.
In that instant, he understood, the Young Master loved the Young Madam more than anyone could imagine.
Lowering his voice, Basil said, "Young Master, please set the Young Madam down, I’ll tend to her wounds."
Godfery Shaw didn’t let go of Amelia in his arms; he just said in a low voice, "Don’t let her hurt."
Basil, under the terrifying gaze of the Young Master, carefully bandaged the Young Madam’s left-hand injury. After a brief examination, he silently stepped back.
Godfery Shaw carried her back to the room, lying beside Amelia, gently holding her, feeling her weak heartbeat.
He stayed quietly, devotedly guarding like a pious believer, loyally watching over his deity.
Attempting to mend her entire body of broken cracks.
Amelia unconsciously leaned towards the warmth.
She was too tired, never having had a good night’s sleep since her rebirth. Relying on this comforting aura, Amelia fell into a deep sleep.
The night was peaceful, without nightmares for the first time.
...
Meanwhile, Basil went to bring Emma Lewis in.
Emma wanted to see Amelia, but Basil informed her that Godfery Shaw had taken Amelia to sleep.
Thinking of Amelia’s sleep-deprived condition over many days, Emma decided not to interrupt.
With Emma’s help, Basil and Emma’s uncle conducted a discussion over the phone regarding Amelia’s stress reaction-induced blindness.
They finally concluded that Amelia’s condition had become severe enough to affect her physically.
Emma’s uncle even speculated that someone with such a strong stress reaction might have already developed some psychological distortions, which Basil confirmed, recalling the scene where Amelia cut her palm with scissors.
Both sides fell silent. There was no quick or effective treatment for this stress reaction, only psychological guidance until the body temporarily forgets the reaction, allowing the blindness to gradually recover.
It could take a day or two, or possibly a week.
Basil informed the Young Master of this situation.
...
This sleep, Amelia was deeply entranced.
When she woke, opening her lifeless eyes, she was momentarily at a loss as to where she was.
Weak and powerless, her vision was a void, her eyes...
She suddenly felt the tightly wrapped hand around her waist.
Amelia’s awareness returned, "Who?"
The man didn’t answer, just held her tighter, as if wanting to confine her into his embrace, merging into his very being.
"Julius Shaw?" Amelia tentatively asked.
She remembered returning to Imperial Garden, and besides Julius Shaw, no one else would act like this towards her.
The man finally spoke, in an overly hoarse voice, "Amelia, are you hungry?"
Calling her Amelia, it must be Julius Shaw!
Then where did Godfery Shaw go?
She vaguely seemed to have seen Godfery Shaw.
Was it an illusion?
It should be, since Godfery Shaw was injured in the racetrack while saving her and was still in the hospital.
Amelia was very weak now; she couldn’t even sit up and had no energy to argue with Julius. Anyway, he wouldn’t listen.
She weakly pushed against Julius’s chest, "Let me go first."
Feeling the small hand on his chest pushing him away, the man wasn’t angry, "Amelia, you’ve slept for so long, you must be hungry, let me help you wash up and then we’ll get something to eat, okay?"
Julius Shaw’s gentleness made Amelia feel as if he was about to do something obsessive and abnormal again.
But hearing Julius offer to take her out to eat, Amelia didn’t refuse.
She was in no condition to resist, and she hadn’t brought the Strong Calming Incense with her. Once out for food and seeing others at Imperial Garden, they could find a way to get rid of Julius.
Amelia was just about to struggle off the bed when she was suddenly picked up and taken to the bathroom.
She gritted her teeth, "Julius Shaw, I have feet, stop carrying me around."
Godfery Shaw’s expression was gentle; though Amelia called him Julius, he didn’t explain, thinking they were the same after all. He’d decided to approach her, so eventually, she would have to accept Julius.
He acted as if he didn’t hear Amelia’s rejection, "Your hand is injured, I’ll help you wash."
Before Amelia could refuse, a warm face cloth had already been applied to her face.
Wanting to retreat, but her whole body was in Godfery Shaw’s arms, sitting on his lap with nowhere to retreat to.
Her breath became slightly rapid, a little irritation rising, yet she was helpless against him.
In frustration, Amelia started coughing, eyes filled with tears, leaning weakly against Godfery Shaw, tears brimming, appearing extremely fragile.
Godfery Shaw gently patted Amelia’s back, holding her out the door after finishing washing up.
Amelia thought it was good to be outside.
Once she saw others in Imperial Garden, she could have them get rid of Julius.
After all, she was married to Godfery Shaw; Imperial Garden wouldn’t allow anyone to cuckold him, even his brother.
Amelia couldn’t see, but her hearing was still fine. After going downstairs, she heard no movement in Imperial Garden.
The whole Imperial Garden was too quiet, as if it were empty.
Where was everyone? Where had they gone?
