Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes
Chapter 76: He’s Here
CHAPTER 76: CHAPTER 76: HE’S HERE
Elegant Art Academy.
Approaching noon, in the classroom of the theoretical course, the teacher was delivering a lecture on theoretical knowledge.
Amelia Wright was drowsy below.
Amelia felt her health was deteriorating recently.
After leaving Imperial Garden, she was almost unable to sleep soundly.
Realizing that Godfery Shaw’s presence allowed her to sleep, Amelia placed Godfrey’s shirt beside her bed.
But now, that shirt had almost none of Godfery Shaw’s scent left.
The prolonged insomnia led to a poor appetite and constant nausea; Amelia felt that at this rate, she wouldn’t last much longer.
But she couldn’t get close to Godfery Shaw anymore.
Godfery Shaw was getting engaged; he would have a wonderful life, without being dragged down by her for another five years, nor be pulled into a dirty hell because of her insane rage.
Recently at school, due to her physical condition, most of the time, she was resting her head trying to nap, whether she could fall asleep or not, she closed her eyes to recharge.
"Look at her, since she doesn’t want to study, why did she return to school? To flaunt her identity as Old Mr. Reed’s student?"
"Oh, don’t envy her, she was personally invited to return by the principal. Look at her sleeping all the time; even the teacher doesn’t mind. How could you have an opinion?"
Those sarcastic words instantly drew more resentment towards Amelia Wright.
Recently, ever since Amelia returned to school, Emma Lewis was around all the time, so nobody dared to confront Emma.
Finally seizing the opportunity when Emma wasn’t around today, they used it to mock her.
But no matter what they said, Amelia just lay there motionless, as if she hadn’t heard anything.
But the teacher on the podium heard the discussions and suddenly looked at Amelia, saying, "You, over there, answer this question."
No teacher would like a student who brazenly slept through their class.
Amelia’s desk mate gently nudged her.
Amelia snapped her eyes open, her gaze carrying a fierce hostility.
Her classmate was startled, murmuring, "The teacher is asking you to answer the question."
Only then did Amelia withdraw her gaze and look at the teacher who was staring at her with a hostile expression.
Her head hurt a bit, but she supported herself on the desk and stood up.
In her previous life, Amelia paid extremely close attention to every class, and these theoretical knowledge had long been ingrained deeply in her bones, impossible to forget even if she tried.
The teacher asked, "What are the main characteristics of art in primitive times in our country?"
"Chaotic characteristics: the combination of utility and aesthetics, with all categories closely integrated and mutually dependent." Amelia answered swiftly.
Only after she finished answering did she want to sit down.
The teacher raised an eyebrow and asked, "Discuss the development of human aesthetic consciousness based on the stone tool manufacture in the Paleolithic era."
"People’s aesthetic art gradually differentiated from material production and became an independent spiritual phenomenon, laying a technical and spiritual foundation for the differentiation and development of future art."
Seeing that Amelia obviously had already pre-studied this knowledge, the teacher didn’t make it any harder for her: "Sit down."
Amelia almost collapsed into her seat, frowning with concern for her physical condition.
She leaned back onto the desk, starting to sleep again.
Until after class ended.
Students stood up and left, getting ready for lunch, while Amelia remained lying down, unmoved.
"Why is she still asleep? It’s lunchtime, should we wake her?"
"Why would you call her? Are you close with her? A woman like her, juggling between two relationships, deserves to miss lunch."
The classroom quieted down, leaving only Amelia sleeping on her desk.
Amelia wasn’t really asleep; she was excessively fatigued, almost in a semi-comatose state.
The previously stifling weather was now covered by spreading dark clouds.
After a loud roll of thunder in the oppressive clouds, it began to rain.
The students outside scattered hurriedly like frightened little ants.
Not long after.
In the rain, Godfery Shaw appeared.
With a black umbrella in hand, he walked directly toward Amelia’s classroom.
Through the window, he saw Amelia’s face as pale as paper.
Since the kidnapping, Godfery Shaw had arranged for someone to secretly protect Amelia, and today he received word that something wasn’t right with her at school. Thinking it over, Godfery couldn’t resist coming to see for himself.
Another clap of thunder sounded at this moment, lightning streaking across the sky, making Amelia’s pallor even more apparent.
Godfery’s expression slightly changed, with Amelia’s alertness, she shouldn’t be so defenseless.
Godfery quietly instructed, "Don’t let anyone get close."
From the shadows came a man’s voice: "Understood."
Godfery pushed open the classroom door and walked in.
He quickly draped his jacket over Amelia, sensing how cold she was, wanting to warm her but also afraid of waking her.
He sat close behind Amelia, gently enveloping her, casting his shadow over her as if to transfer his warmth to her.
Amelia saw blood again. Her parents’, her brother’s, and her own, surrounded by sneering phantoms.
Amelia felt a cold that pierced to the bone, slowly eroding her heart, leaving bloody holes.
Soon, she felt warmth, like the sun had come out.
The warm sunlight dispelled those evil spirits and the blood, and Amelia unconsciously moved closer to the source of the warmth.
Godfery watched Amelia snuggle into his embrace, remaining perfectly still.
He looked at her face, still carrying a touch of childishness, but weak and pallid.
Yes, she was only 20, an age meant to be bright and vibrant, yet she seemed like an old person, devoid of life. What on earth happened to her, what secrets was she hiding?
Until a man’s serious voice came from outside the classroom: "Young master, students are approaching."
Only then did Godfery stand up, his eyes showing a hint of fierceness, but his actions were extremely gentle as he lightly kissed Amelia’s lips.
He turned and left.
The rain gradually subsided.
After Godfery left, Amelia slept for a while longer before waking up in a daze.
Unexpectedly, she had slept so deeply, and upon waking, she felt no headache or rapid heartbeat, just a normal post-sleep feeling.
Amelia’s vacant gaze gradually focused and found a man’s jacket draped over her.
Her pupils constricted.
This was an ordinary jacket, but she smelled a familiar scent.
It was Godfery Shaw.
Wasn’t he busy with his engagement, even having no time to handle their divorce together?
Why did he come to the school, what was he thinking?
No wonder she had been able to sleep so peacefully for a while.
Thinking about her dependency on Godfery Shaw’s presence, Amelia’s expression turned slightly tense.
At this point, more people slowly filled the classroom again, and the never-quiet classmates continued to mock her.
"Oh, look at her with a man’s coat draped over her, just a lunchtime and she’s already lured another man."
"With a face like that, what’s the need to work hard? She’s probably planning to live off her looks~~"
