Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession
Chapter 193: She was there to help
CHAPTER 193: SHE WAS THERE TO HELP
’’This is the fifth fail of this month! Investors are backing out. Customer reviews have been pouring in yet none of them surpass 2 stars....’’ A man burst inside the meeting room, sweat trickling down his neck.
"Regain your composure, Jerome!’’ The man seated on the head chair of the meeting table frowned, "If we can’t get some authentic customer reviews, then buy some fake ones. People are easily influenced. A few failed products and now the brand’s reputation is in the gutter because of these blabbermouths!"
The young man named Jerome shook his head, "But brother, it’s not that... I had hired people to drop some fake reviews to flip but people called it out. It aggravated the situation even further.
For now, I have managed to handle the situation outside, no one can tell that there is anything wrong with the company. I doubt that would remain the case in the long run."
The meeting room sunk into silence. The people seated around the huge table looked at each other before they turned to the man in the head chair.
"Brother..." Jerome started, "I heard they have sent someone capable from Country A to overlook the situation of branch companies like ours... If we report this issue, then maybe that person could come up with some good plan..."
"Shut up!" Jeremy frowned, "Do you know who that capable person is?"
Like Jerome, the rest of the people in the meeting room looked at the man in bewilderment.
"Vice President, what are you talking about?"
"Do you know who they have sent?"
Jeremy inhaled a deep breath, "I got the news of it last night. All of us are in the same boat so I have no reason to hide it. It’s Miss Lilith Quinn..."
"The sole heiress of Chairman Quinn?"
"The chairman actually sent his daughter!"
"Wait, you mean that Lilith Quinn? The prodigy from that top business school?! If it is her, she can easily solve this deadlock for us..."
’Bam’
The older man, Jeremy slammed his palms across the table, "What do you think she is here for?" His gaze cut through the people across the table, "From the surface, she is here for inspection of a few small branch companies under the Quinn Industries. But in reality, she is being trained for her position as the future leader...’’
"But why is it any of our concern?" Somebody asked, "We can just get her to solve the current problem of Lilac. The current line of skincare products failed one after another and we are in debt at this point. If we think about unnecessary things, how can we solve the issue at hand?"
"Unnecessary? You tell me, do you know what is the easiest way to prove one’s capability?" Jeremy squinted when the people turned silent, "It’s to assert dominance."
The younger brother, Jerome shivered, "Brother, do you mean..."
"The company has been in dire circumstances for a few months now and we will have to shoulder the blame if things get out. Not only we will lose our jobs, but we would also be used as the example she sets to prove her capability as the future CEO of Quinn Industries.’’
Jeremy’s face turned solemn when he spoke to that point, "For this reason alone, we can never approach Miss Quinn before this problem is resolved. Shut down all the information."
"But then, what do we do about the current situation? At this rate, the company will shut down in a month."
A solemn air blanketed the meeting room. At this moment, there were sounds of urgent footsteps, "There is someone outside. She says that she has a way to deal with the current backlash that our company is facing!"
She? The people in the meeting room froze over, dread settling in their guts. By any chance, did the news already reach Miss Quinn?
With a heavy heart, the Vice President of Lilac, Jeremy opened his mouth, "Let her in respectfully."
The meeting room sunk in an uncomfortable silence as the people waited. After a while, the door opened and everyone looked up in unison.
It took one second before the Vice President, Jeremy, spoke up, "Who are you?"
Following his question, the rest of the people also understood that the person standing at the door was not the VIP from Country A, Lilith Quinn.
Instead...
Dressed in an elegant white dress, Ella had her hair tied in a clean updo. The dress flattered her body in the right manner, falling till her ankles.
She was wearing shades so big that they covered half of her face.
"Hello, ladies and gentlemen," Ella’s lips quirked up in a small smile, "Since you let me in, I won’t back out on my words. I am here to help you."
Vice President Jeremy straightened up in his seat, "Help? What makes you think we need any help?"
Ella smiled, "You can pretend nothing is wrong and I can walk out of the door right now. But with the current state of your company, you will be bound to shut it down in a matter of a few weeks."
The room sunk in silence.
’Even the higher ups don’t know of the losses we are suffering. I have ensured that the news is kept under wraps. How can a young girl like her know anything? She is just bluffing...’ With that thought Vice President Jeremy straightened up.
"Why do you think that we would believe that a young girl like you knows a thing about business?"
"Because I know your numbers and cases better than your board does," Ella crossed her arms in front of her chest.
Under their scrutinizing gazes, she opened her mouth again.
"In the past few months, you have launched a line of skincare products, one after another. But every single one of them did so terribly in the market that you had to take the data down, suppress the customers’ opinion and filter the information to make your company look perfect from outside..."
As all the senior members of ’Lilac’ looked at her in disbelief because of the accuracy of her information, Ella looked at Jeremy, the man who was obviously the one with the say here, "Am I right about this?"
Jeremy’s younger brother, Jerome, looked at Ella like in marvel.
Jeremy’s lips parted, "Impossible. All the news was shut down. How could you know anything about this..."
Ella remained calm in the face of his shock.
These were the times where she felt grateful for having all the memories of her previous life. They really came in handy when needed.
"Even if you know it, then what? With what qualifications are you standing here to talk to me?" Jeremy asked solemnly.
