Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession
Chapter 256: They are growing close
CHAPTER 256: THEY ARE GROWING CLOSE
"What’s with the handkerchief?" Kade squinted, "You are staring at it so intensely. Is it a gift from my brother?"
"A gift?" Ella looked up at Kade.
For a moment, Ella was bewildered.
Why did Mo Jun and Violet have the same handkerchiefs, with the same pattern of violet flowers? It seemed like too much of a coincidence.
At this moment, Professor Grimwood entered the class and the class turned silent.
"Okay... so now..." After the class was over, Professor Grimwood turned to address the class, "You need to pay attention to what I am about to announce."
At that, there was pin drop silence in the class.
"There will be an official announcement for it soon but I am informing you in advance so that you can start preparations," Professor Grimwood continued.
"Preparations?"
"What is it about?"
"Could it be the exams?"
"But there is more than a month’s time for that!"
"Silence!" Professor Grimwood stepped forward, his face stoic, "In a month, your end-semester examinations will be starting. Since this is your final year, you need to start preparing for it."
After Professor Grimwood left, the class became chaotic.
Ruby, Kade and Ella walked out together.
"In a month? I haven’t even enjoyed my freedom properly yet..." Kade was depressed.
Ella glanced at him, "Didn’t you get some of your money back?"
"Those are a few bucks... It cannot even buy a decent gift for any beautiful lady..."
Ella’s lips twisted as she gave him a look. A few bucks? She had full faith that those bucks amounted to millions. "Then it’s better if you don’t get all that money of yours."
Kade glared at her.
Ella shrugged, "My husband works so hard, it hurts my heart to see parasites like you freeloading on his money."
A vein ticked on Kade’s forehead as he repeated to himself—Calmness is a virtue, anger brings destruction. Calmness is a virtue, anger brings destruction. Calmness is a virtue...
"You seem oddly calm about the examination," Kade suddenly thought of it, "Even the last time, you did not tell us how you managed to top."
"Why should I tell you?" Ella rolled her eyes.
"Because I am asking you."
"Do I look like I care...?"
Ruby also turned to Ella, "I am also curious. You did well in History too."
"Oh, let me tell you..." Ella turned to Ruby.
Kade: "_" You can tell her, but not me?
"Oh, that’s because of Adrian," Ella pulled out her phone from her bag and scrolled through the gallery before she showed the pictures to Ruby, "He turned the entire History book into a comic book."
Kade was speechless.
"W-What did you say brother did?" Kade was relieved that Ruby knew about his brother’s identity by now because there was no way he could have stopped himself from reacting after hearing this.
The great Adrian King actually went to such an extent, got a comic book printed just because Ella was having difficulties with one subject?
How unbelievable!
...
By evening, Ella had returned to Eve Mansion. She first went to her room and freshened up.
Then she had the medications that Dr. Xiao had prescribed her, back in Country A.
She could not say about the long term effects of these medications but lately she did not have any nightmares. So, it made her hopeful about her condition.
It has been many months since her rebirth and Ella no longer wanted to be haunted by the memories of her previous life.
After she was done with her routine skincare and everything, she skipped downstairs.
’Woof woof’
’Meow meow’
Riri and Lala circled around her excitedly.
After the duo found each other, they mostly stayed in each other’s company even if Ella and Adrian were not around.
And surprisingly, they did not even trouble the servants.
"Miss Yu, shall I take them out to play?" Bertha approached Ella.
Ella paused for a moment. Luckily, they listened to her and switched back to addressing her as ’Miss Yu’.
Ella couldn’t get used to being addressed as Second Madam or Madam or anything like that.
And secondly, her marriage with Adrian was still a secret so she thought it would be ideal if they addressed her as Miss Yu, so as to not make any slip ups.
Ella picked Riri and Lala up in each arm, "No need to take them away. But I need you to do something for me."
"Yes?"
"Please help me empty the kitchen..." As she spoke, Ella checked the time as well.
"Miss Yu, you..."
"I am going to prepare dinner for Adrian tonight..." As she spoke, she looked at the little ones in her embrace, "And you both are going to help me make the preparations for Daddy’s dinner, alright?"
Riri, being the perceptive one as usual, swung his tail and nuzzled his face in Ella’s arm.
Lala, the pampered one, curled in Ella’s arms as if she could not be bothered with these things at all.
Bertha looked at Ella’s retreating back as she walked off to the kitchen and her eyes remained wide for a long time.
"Mother, why do you look so shocked?" Rin walked up to Bertha, asking her curiously.
"I am not shocked," Bertha shook her head slowly, "I am just surprised and happy. A few months ago, Miss Yu wouldn’t even look at the Second Master. But now, she said she wants to cook for him like it is the most normal thing."
Rin smiled, "Isn’t it obvious? The Second Master and Miss Yu are growing close!"
...
When Adrian returned to the Eve Mansion, the living room was dimly lit.
"Second Master, I will go through those deals and arrange the meetings in the upcoming week..." Ji Yan trailed off when he realized that Adrian was no longer paying attention to his words.
The moment Adrian stepped inside the mansion, his gaze started wandering around.
"Second Master," Bertha bowed to him and naturally said, "Miss Yu is in the kitchen."
"Kitchen?" Adrian paused.
"Yes, Miss Yu wanted to cook for you so she dismissed the rest of the people..."
Before Bertha could finish speaking, Adrian had already left the place with long strides.
Ji Yan and Bertha exchanged glances, a knowing smile on their faces as they dismissed the remaining servants in the living room.
