CHAPTER 259: ASKING HER TO BE HIS DATE

Her end-semester exams! Ella could not believe that she forgot about it completely.

She informed Adrian about her upcoming exams and begged him to tutor her again.

From the way Ji Yan paled at her request, Ella could see that Adrian probably had abundant work commitments.

Just as she was about to ask him to forget about it, he agreed to tutor her without hesitation.

Their tutoring sessions went just like before. In Mathematics, he guided her through the formulas and gave her questions before leaving for work.

And by the evening, she would be handed a thin comic book that covered a few Chapters of her thick history book.

The rest was still fine but every time Ella saw the history-turned-comic book, she wanted to worship Adrian or maybe erect a holy shrine in his name.

Because she certainly doubted that her tears of happiness would fall short.

During this time, Ella did not go to university as much as well.

The place was busy with co-curricular activities and their syllabus was nearly over so Ella decided to stay home.

On this particular day, Ella was curled in the comfy couch inside the renovated library of the Eve Mansion.

By her left, Riri was excitely swishing his tail as he looked around and pawed a few books gently.

On her right side, Lala was coiled like a cotton ball, visibly uninterested in everything and everyone.

Meanwhile, Ella was glaring at the romance novel in her hand.

Absent-mindedly, Ella picked up her phone from the coffee table and answered the call, "Hello?"

"You look mad."

Ella’s gaze snapped in the direction of her phone and Adrian’s ’I am sculpted by divinity’ face greeted her sight.

"I... am mad," Ella straightened up on the couch as she pointed at the book in her hand, "See this? I finished the entire book in 5 hours only to be disappointed in the ending..."

Just talking about it made Ella’s head throb.

When she looked at Adrian, he was frowning slightly, "I will ask them to get those books removed from the library," he declared solemnly.

Ji Yan shook his head as he watched his Second Master fidgeting as a response to Ella’s question.

After being tormented by the overdose of dogfood for eternity, the couple finally kept the call.

Adrian looked at his phone, with a small frown on his face.

"Second Master, why didn’t you tell Miss Yu about the upcoming event?"

Adrian leaned back on the swivel chair, pinching the spot between his brows.

"In two weeks, the King Empires’ Annual Event will take place. If Miss Yu has to join you as your date, then it is only right if she knows about it now so she can prepare accordingly..."

Ji Yan trailed off when Adrian remained silent.

In fact, he was not very much in favour of Ella being his Second Master’s date to this event even though their relationship had already improved by leaps and bounds.

In all the previous years, Adrian had appeared in such events without a date.

Moreover, if his Second Master brought Ella to the big event, it wouldn’t just raise eyebrows, it might even start a war. Ji Yan swallowed at the thought of it.

There would definitely be people in that room who would eat someone like Ella alive.

In such events, a partner or a date did not simply mean romantic entanglements. But rather, it reflected one’s status and standing in the current world as well.

Ji Yan glanced at Adrian again, "Second Master, should I... prepare a more strategic date?"

"Miss Yu, this has your name on it."

Ella took the box from her, "Thank you."

Ella waved her hand, "It’s fine."

Bertha peeked at the package, "This..." She looked over curiously when Ella took a delicate and subtly decorated package from inside.

"It’s a skincare set," Ella twirled the box in her hand.

She had to give it to Jeremy. As the Vice President of Lilac, he worked really fast in order to cover the blunders of the company.

Otherwise, it was almost impossible to prepare a new skincare setup with completely new formulations in such a short time.

Ella went back to her room and logged into her social media.

For a moment, her phone glitched by the explosion of notifications.
