Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession
Chapter 269: That person is dead
CHAPTER 269: THAT PERSON IS DEAD
The entire Crystal Studios was enshrouded in a gloomy aura.
There were no decorations in the huge venue. The lights and cameras were lying arbitrarily on the ground and people had gathered in small groups, visibly whispering in soft voices.
Ella and Ruby exchanged a brief glance. Seeing the same look in each other’s eyes, they nodded at each other.
Then both of them approached separate groups.
"Sister, what happened here?" Ella walked up to the place where the hair and makeup artists had gathered.
One of the makeup artists looked up, "Who are you?"
"Ah, my friend plays a minor role so I came here to support her. But it seems like the photoshoot is not happening."
"The photoshoot? At this rate, even the drama might not happen..." Another makeup artist whispered.
The rest glared at her, "Don’t let anyone hear you."
"Why won’t the drama happen?" As they looked at her, Ella continued, "Sis, I hope you don’t mind me asking questions. You seem well informed about things so I can’t hold myself back."
One of the makeup artists looked at Ella’s ’pretty and sweet’ face and sighed, "You have come to the right person, girl. Actually, the news is not public yet but one of the major investors has passed away."
When Ruby and Ella met, both their faces were solemn.
"It’s Dean Mo," Ella suddenly remembered that day when Mo Jun came to meet her outside her class, he had received a call from the hospital.
Ruby nodded after a small. The outsiders were not clear about the new face behind Mo Entertainment.
But the people who were a part of the entertainment industry more or less had grown to know about it in the recent days.
Mo Entertainment’s power was also on the peak, with it rivalling the Ambrose and Hill Family. But now, the new CEO is gone.
"Quick. Don’t stop the preparations!" Some of the team members rushed out of a private room, "The new investor is about to arrive."
Ella and Ruby exchanged a glance.
"They arranged a new investor so soon?" Ruby frowned.
Ella fell into deep contemplation.
In her previous life, there was some time before Dean Mo passed away and Mo Entertainment changed powers.
"Ella...?"
Ella turned around when she heard the familiar voice.
Violet walked towards them, nodding at Ruby, "Miss Ambrose."
Ruby looked at the girl for a moment before she turned to Ella questioningly.
Ella naturally introduced them to each other.
"Call me Ruby."
Violet hesitated for a moment before she smiled, "Ruby."
Ruby nodded.
"I am so glad that I found you here," Violet turned to Ella, "You have not been coming to university the past month but I had something for you..." she trailed off.
"What is it?"
Violet did a once-over of Ella before she hesitated, "Forget it. I think I will get you another gift."
"A gift? What if I insist on this one?" Ella arched her brow.
Seeing her determination, Violet smiled slowly, "Alright, wait here..." The girl immediately disappeared.
At this moment—
"Isn’t that the female lead?" One of the creative directors yelled, "Quickly lead her to the makeup room and see if you need any changes."
As a few people approached Ruby, Ella nodded at her, "I will be right here."
Just when Ruby left, Violet came back with a white bag in her hand, "I thought you’d be here to support Ruby so I had brought it with me."
Ella peeked inside the bag and a hint of soft pink caught her attention.
When she pulled out, it was an oversized hoodie, the kind she usually wore to the university but in black color.
The design was rather different from the ones she usually found in the online stores. And it certainly felt more comfortable than most of the hoodies she had.
"It’s beautiful..."
Violet smiled sheepishly, "I designed it even better but my stitching skills are not as good."
"You made it...?" Ella paused when the girl nodded.
Now that she thought about it, in some of the shows where Violet played Esther’s body double, Esther’s outfits had been a highlight.
"Sis, it looks like you are bonding well with my best friend?"
A voice made both Violet and Ella turn.
Dressed in a seductive crimson dress, Esther stepped towards them.
However, just as she was about to stand in front of Ella, she stopped suddenly.
Her eyes took in the sight of the girl dressed in a plain tee and baggy pants. But what was unavoidable was her figure.
Ella’s bone structure was visible, her face was pointy, she looked taller and her facial features... looked like they had been carved with a knife.
She... She had lost so much weight?
Even without makeup, Ella’s beauty couldn’t be dismissed.
"What are you doing here?" Violet frowned, "I don’t think you got the role."
Esther snapped out of her daze, "Aren’t you switching sides a bit too fast?" She turned to Violet, "What did my sister buy you with?"
Ella turned to Violet, "Go, get ready for the photoshoot."
"But..."
Seeing the genuine concern in Violet’s eyes, Ella smiled, "I will be fine."
Noticing their interaction, Esther narrowed her eyes, "Sis, you really like to steal my things, don’t you!"
"That’s your game. How can I beat you in it?" Ella shook her head gently.
"You..." Esther raised her hand.
Ella grabbed her wrist, "What? You are not feigning to be a kind sister anymore?"
Esther’s chest heaved, "All along, you were playing me. Since the night after you slept with Adrian, you played me."
Ella arched a brow.
"You humiliated me in front of him, you refused to eat anything I brought for you, you used that maid Rin against me, you refused to give me your social media account, you..." Esther inhaled a deep breath, "Everything you did was a part of the plan."
"Took you so long to figure it out?" Ella blinked.
Esther gnashed her teeth, "And at last, you even schemed to break my engagement—"
"Now that’s where you are wrong,’’ Ella flung her hand away.
