Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession
Chapter 274: A long-term grudge
CHAPTER 274: A LONG-TERM GRUDGE
Kade shrugged, "They are kids."
"_" "You are not an old man yourself, Kade," Ella spoke as they walked along the silent hallway.
"They are not my type. Too young, innocent and naive. And I can bet your life on it that they think I can be their prince charming. I am no prince charming, Ella."
Ella: "_" What do you mean, bet my life?
Sighing, Ella asked, "What do you think of Ruby then?"
Kade flinched, "What... No!" he nearly screamed.
Ella squinted, glancing at him dangerously, "What do you mean by that reaction?"
"Ruby... is too good," Kade sighed, "And someone like her deserves a long term relationship, a loving partner and whatnot. I cannot provide anyone with that so..." He shrugged.
Ella nodded slowly, retracting her invisible dagger.
However, thinking about the ’truth or dare’ game night, she couldn’t help but sigh. Misunderstandings surely sprouted like anything.
"Moreover, Ruby... reminds me of the male version of my brother..." Kade scratched the back of his neck at his own bizarre comparison, "Someone like her can only be handled by a male version of you..."
A male version of her?
Ella glared at the guy suspiciously. Was he doing drugs these days?
Once Ruby came, the three of them went to the cafeteria, chatted about for a while before Ruby left.
Kade also readied himself to leave, "Why don’t you come along with me to the Main Mansion?"
Ella shook her head, "I have some work so I won’t be joining you..."
Moreover, Old Master King was still there and last time, Adrian’s reaction had been violent.
Based on the knowledge of both her lives, Ella knew that there was no bad blood between the grandson and grandfather.
But it was probably Old Master King’s way of taking her there to lure Adrian that rubbed Adrian the wrong way.
Ella didn’t blame him for that.
"Alright, oh..." Kade suddenly halted in his tracks and turned to Ella, "I might not make it to Top 10."
"What has it got to do with me that you are about to live the life of a pauper?" Ella said sarcastically.
Kade grinned.
Ella’s brows rose. Usually, he would be almost in tears by now.
"Regardless of whether I am in the top 10 or not, you are going to clear my name in front of my brother. So that I get all my money back."
"You are delusional—" Ella trailed off when Kade whipped his phone towards her, showing her a picture where she was receiving love letters from the guys, "You..."
"What will my brother have to say about this? Think wisely, Ella and take your time doing it," Kade laughed antagonistically before he sat in the car and disappeared from her view.
"_"
What would Adrian say?
Ella did not dare to think down that line.
Ella was just about to walk out of the campus when she spotted two familiar faces.
Mo Jun and Mo Lia.
The Mo siblings looked like they had not slept in days.
Mo Jun looked to be in better shape compared to Mo Lia who was being supported by her brother, her entire face pale.
Mo Jun also happened to look at Ella. He paused for a moment, gave her a small nod before they walked past her.
"Wait..." Ella called out to them.
The Mo siblings halted in their tracks.
"What do you want...?" Mo Lia looked at Ella warily.
"I want to talk to your brother."
"No!" Mo Lia straightened up, tugging at Mo Jun’s arm as she shook her head.
Ella raised a brow, "Have I offended you somehow, Miss Mo?"
Mo Lia looked at her viciously, "Don’t pretend! I hate Esther for what she did but that doesn’t make you a good person. All along, you knew what your sister was doing and you intentionally took your time to play with us before leading us to the truth..."
Ella fell silent when she heard that.
"I was not wrong after all, was I?" Mo Lia glared.
Ella smiled wordlessly. Adrian, oh, Adrian, see what you got me into.
’Forget it! He did it for me after all. For him, I can tolerate a pretty lady’s accusations!’
"Brother, let’s go!" Mo Lia tugged at Mo Jun’s hand as she turned to leave.
But Mo Jun did not budge.
Mo Lia glanced at him.
"Wait for me in the car," He waved his hand.
The driver rushed towards them and supported Mo Lia, who reluctantly left with him.
Ella led Mo Jun to the cafeteria. Along the way, they received a few stares.
For one, it was because Ella and Mo Jun were seen together.
And secondly, by now, some of the people had known the reality of the Mo Family.
Dean Mo being the CEO of Mo Entertainment, Jenny being his mistress, Mo siblings being mistreated and cornered after their mother died...
All these things were not as securely hidden as they had been when Dean Mo was alive.
Even though people were not sure, there were speculations.
However, Mo Jun had been involved in gangs before. And he was not a person to be trifled with even when he had hit the rock bottom so nobody approached him.
"I am surprised," Mo Jun said as soon as he took a seat, "I didn’t think you’d ever want to talk to me."
"That’s true." Ella nodded.
Mo Jun sighed, "I have always wondered, Ella... Is it because of Esther..."
Mo Jun paused the moment he uttered Esther’s name, as if the mere mention of it was painful to him.
"Is it simply because of her that you hate me so much? Our engagement—"
"I don’t hate you. I don’t like you either," Ella shrugged, "But it has nothing to do with Esther."
"Then?"
"You touched someone you shouldn’t have."
"Who..." Mo Jun trailed off as something clicked in his mind, "Ruby Ambrose."
Before, he hadn’t known but in the recent weeks, he had seen how close those two seemed. But he never thought Ella held a grudge against him because of Ruby.
