CHAPTER 291: DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE?

"Mm..." Ella glanced at his palm that had wrapped around her chest, holding her close against him.

She raised her palm, letting it hover over his. Seeing the difference in the sizes, her lips curled involuntarily.

And then, she thoughtlessly placed her palm on his, stroking his fingers.

Adrian’s fingers twitched at her movement. But other than that, he did not say anything.

Ella thought he probably drifted off when she felt it suddenly.

His hardness pressing against her back.

Her lips parted in disbelief. "Adrian..."

He chuckled low against her neck. His hand slid down her stomach, parting her thighs with possessive ease. "I can’t stop."

A moan slipped from her mouth when his testing thumb slid inside her, as if to check... if she wanted it too.

Ella gulped, "Then... then don’t stop."

And her words did not get a reply because he pushed back into her from behind, filling her again in one rough stroke.

Ella cried out, her fingers twisting the sheets as he drove into her relentlessly, his pace faster, harsher, his teeth grazing her shoulder as though to mark her.

He flipped her onto her stomach, dragging her hips up and taking her hard from behind, his hands branding her skin, his low and seductive groans filling her ears as she screamed into the pillows.

When her body shook with another climax, he didn’t stop. He lifted her again, slamming deeper, making her unravel over and over until she couldn’t even form words, only sounds of pure need.

The night blurred into madness. Every time she thought he was spent, he pressed against her again, harder than before, devouring her mouth, her breasts, every inch of her body like he couldn’t get enough.

She lost count of how many times she broke apart under him, her body raw and aching yet desperate for more.

Only when the first rays of dawn seeped through the curtains did her body finally give out.

Ella collapsed against him, her voice hoarse from moaning his name. Her chest rose and fell with shallow breaths as her eyes fluttered shut.

As her breathing steadied, she raised her hand and gently stroked his face, examining his features closely.

His eyes glinted but he did not interrupt her movements at all.

"Adrian..."

"Mm."

Ella leaned closer to him, "Adrian," She called out his name again.

Adrian tipped his chin downward, letting her hand completely rest on his face.

"Do you... believe in love?" Ella whispered against his lips.

"Yes." He did not even pause to think about it.

Ella’s eyelashes fluttered twice as she glanced at the man silently.

"Do you?" Adrian’s deep voice broke her trance.

Ella paused, "Maybe now I do..."

Her words trailed off as her eyes fluttered close gradually.

Hence she missed the man’s expression. After staying frozen for minutes, Adrian slowly blinked, a twinkle caught in his dark eyes, shining brighter than the moon.

When Ella drifted off, Adrian gathered her close. He pulled her back into his arms, wrapping himself around her completely. His lips brushed her damp hair.

He clutched her like she was his entire world, like if he let go, everything would crumble.

...

When Ella opened her eyes again, it was past noon. It was still drizzling outside so the sky was dark.

But what was colder than the weather outside was Ella’s bed. Still half-asleep, Ella flipped about and checked both the sides of the bed, ensuring that she wasn’t seeing things.

The bed was empty!

’Did he leave for work already?’

Ella stared at the ceiling and sighed. She was more or less accustomed to waking up in an empty bed because it was completely normal for Adrian to leave when she was asleep?

But...

’Strange, why do I feel so weird about him leaving today, out of all days?’ Ella sighed, ’It’s not like His Majesty can sacrifice his morning court for me...!’

A man as busy as Adrian was bound by too many responsibilities to be able to spend a slow morning with her.

When she moved her hand, a hint of black caught her attention.

Ella gazed down at the black shirt that she had donned.

Isn’t it his? Did he put this on me?

Ella buried her nose in his shirt, inhaling in the man’s scent for a few minutes before she realized her actions.

’Ella, Ella, great people cannot be solely focused on romance all the time. Clear your head now!’

Sighing, she pushed herself up, only to feel her body shatter at the slightest movement.

Ella nearly cried out loud when she failed to even lift her wrist.

She looked at her reflection in the mirror on the opposite wall and a gasp escaped her mouth.

Purple and red marks were littered all over her body and it seemed like some galaxy themed artwork from a distance.

Recovering from her shock, Ella tried to push herself off the bed, every muscle screaming, her body feeling bruised in places she didn’t even know could bruise.

She was halfway upright when a sudden ’blast’ made her jump, her heart leaping into her throat. And then... the sound of the fire alarm reverberated.

Her eyes widened. Fire? In my flat?

Panic shot through her, making her forget the aches, the soreness... the world had narrowed to ’Get out, now!’.

Ella scrambled for her feet, realizing instantly that she was only wearing Adrian’s black shirt.

It reached her knees but she was wearing nothing under it, leaving her exposed more than she was comfortable with.

Instinctively, she grabbed a blanket and draped it around herself.

Ready to run, she stepped into the hall but in the next moment, she froze!

A curl of smoke floated lazily from the kitchen, carried by the breeze from the air vent.

Her stomach dropped. She rushed forward with the blanket trailing behind her.

And the sight she witnessed left her in disbelief.

Adrian stood there near the kitchen counter, like some Greek god who had casually stepped out of a dream.
