CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER: 50, 30 BLESSED STUDENTS (PART_3)
"Priest Charlotte and Druid Kate!" She called out.
Charlotte and Kate stepped into the arena with nothing but their armors.
As the name suggests, both of their classes were mana type classes. Their primary skills didn’t need tools, and if needed, they would only need a staff matching their elements to enhance the effect of their skills.
Charlotte was a B-rank Priest, mostly a healer. But it all changed when she saw the ’Holy Fist Art’ in her innate skill arsenal. Now she wasn’t just a healer, but also has the potential to become a Holy Knight or a Holy Mage.
Kate on the other side is a B-rank Druid. A class given to people who protect the natural life of trees and forests from any kind of harm. Their affinity with nature is unprecedented and extreme. Almost no one on the same level can win against them in a nature type battlefield.
Almost! They do have higher versions of class like A-rank ’High Druid’ and S-rank ’Grand Druid’. Unless someone with fire element -that has absolute advantage against nature and plant- appears, none can actually win against druids.
Too bad, Kate was not anywhere near a forest or natural field. She was inside a palace that is in the middle of a huge city, with no forest unless you go outside the city. And her range was definitely not that far.
As the whistle was blown, both Kate and Charlotte rushed at each other. Their hands glowing with bright yellow and green. both having their elements tightly grasped in their hands as they first started off with a punch force comparison.
Their knuckles crashed into each other with every bit of strength they could bring out. They both were level 7, which constitutes to their similar fighting style. As using elements individually would cost mana they did not have.
As they had a brief understanding of each other’s strength, they began to continuously strike and dodge the others’ strikes. They were very proficient in hand to hand combat as they both mostly hunted monsters with their hands. So, besides practice, experience of this half a month indeed played a vital role in their development.
Their fight continuously dragged on as eventually they both felt the crashing exhaustion. Among them, only Charlotte had two points higher agility points than Kate. So, the result was obvious, Charlotte won. And Saintes Lily picked the next two contenders.
The next fight was between ’Dreadblade Henry’ and ’Sage Kieran’.
The A-rank Dreadblade class of Henry was anything but a pleasant looking class. His class mainly focused on fears of his opponents. He has a skill that will bring the deeply dug fears to the surface, making his enemy remember those unpleasant thoughts.
But even so, against any opponent who possesses a higher degree of mental strength or someone who doesn’t fear anything, every skill of his would be useless.
But even though his mental strength was indeed stronger than Kieran, Henry still lost. Not because of anything else, but Gura.
The deepest fears Kieran currently has is none other than the demise of his sister and Gura. Except them, there was indeed nothing in the world Kieran feared... for now.
After them, the next battle was between ’Summoner Alexander’ and ’Binder Benjamin’.
Both of their classes were of A-rank. Benjamin’s class mostly focused on bonding with elemental and worldly spirits. And by forming contracts, he can use a part of their magic for his own gains.
Alexander’s class on the other hand, mostly focused on summoning exotic and mythical beasts that would help him in different aspects according to his needs.
Both of their classes were the same type. But none of them had even a single bonded spirit or a summoned exotic beast. Why? Because either summoning or bonding, both need the minimum mana stat point of 50, before summoning or bonding with even the weakest of the spirits and beasts.
So, despite having a good class, both of them were forced to use blunt weapons until they increased their mana points to 50.
So, they both fought and Alexander won... Then the next fight began.
The next fight was between ’Golemancer Bella’ and ’Dark Knight Caspian’
Bella’s class was to create golems with earth, metal, wood and any type of materials that can be turned into a golem. But as usual, just like Benjamin and Alexander, she also requires mana points above 30 to even build a normal golem. So she was also forced to use blunt weapons.
But against Caspian, she never stood a chance. And it was true, seeing that Caspian came out as the winner.
Next battle was between ’Cryomancer Emily’ and ’Dark Knight Azaria’. That ended in just five minutes that even made the judges and Caspian shocked to the core. They were confused as to why Azaria was so much stronger despite having the same class and abilities as Caspian.
Little did they know, Azaria has the Skill, which made her much stronger than Caspian. Duron watched as Azaria swiftly defeated Emily without even a drop of sweat.
Azaria made sure she looked flawless and kept glancing back at Dainsleif sitting among the crowd, which didn’t escape Duron’s eyes. His heart again ignited with the same bitter pain from before.
After them was the fight between ’Pyromancer Felix’ and ’Sage Penelope’. The winner of which was –without a doubt- Penelope. Her gazes were also attracted towards Dainsleif just like Azaria. But Kieran noticed the glances even if no one else did.
He sighed and watched as the next fight also concluded between ’Hero Aldric’ and ’Necromancer Daniel’, with Aldric winning.
The only reason for Aldric’s easy win was simply that Daniel never had the chance to raise any undead. And without undead under their command, Necromancer were nothing but ordinary civilians with just larger mana pools.
As the last battle of the first round concluded, out of the 25 who participated, 13 of them moved on to the next round.
To be continued...
