CHAPTER 108: A LOT OF GUN KNOWLEDGE

Both Adam and Manny fill out their forms, pay the fees, and go back in.

With tomorrow being the start of a new week, they won’t have time to come back tomorrow.

Adam doesn’t plan to waste much of his money here either. He has noticed how fast he progresses when it comes to learning new physical activities; he doesn’t doubt that this course will be the same.

In seven days, he should be able to become one of the most lethal people on the planet, and it’s a very scary thought. Having the ability to master something that people take years to get familiar with is beyond extraordinary. Luckily, it’s Adam who has this ability and not someone who is his enemy.

Back inside the training ground, Adam and Manny meet Harry, who is looking over the few who are actually running around, performing some kind of drill.

"You both ready?" He asks, and Adam and Manny nod.

"Then let’s start with basics today, safety, handling, and shooting basics," He says and leads them to a different room, a room filled with lots of guns.

Adam looks around, surprised as there are more guns here than in the gun store, well, at least the ones on display.

"Let’s start with a handgun," he says, and picks up an old-looking gun. He places it before Adam and Manny as they watch.

"First, I am going to show you how to dismantle a gun and put it back together. Every gun owner should know how to do this," Harry says, and begins showing them how to dismantle a gun.

First, point the gun in a safe direction. Second, remove the magazine. Third, pull the slide back and lock it open. Fourth, inspect the chamber visually and physically to confirm it is empty.

After showing the basics, he begins stripping the pistol part by part, showing them how to release the slide lock, the sear, tells them how some guns have a takedown lever, and gives an example by showing a different gun, how to remove the slide from the frame, the recoil spring, and the barrel.

After stripping everything, he reassembles it. Insert the barrel into the slide, then insert the recoil spring assembly, then slide the upper back onto the frame rails, locking it in place, check if it’s functioning properly, dry fire, and finally ensure that everything is cycling correctly.

It’s a very confusing process for a first timer, but Adam only needed to see it once. He already has all the steps memorised.

"Here, each of you take one and start. Let’s see how well you do on your first try," Harry says and hands them their own empty guns.

Adam immediately begins. He recalls every step that Harry took and replicates it with perfection; it’s as if he has had experience doing this all the time, but of course, he is just copying what Harry did.

After dismantling it, he reassembles it, just like Harry showed.

Harry watches with surprise as Adam doesn’t make a simple mistake; his method is perfect, just like how he showed them.

"Did you have practice before?" Harry asks. "No, just remembered how you did it and replicated it," Adam says. "You are a sharp one, aren’t ya?" He says, grinning, and looks at Manny, who clearly is struggling, but Harry doesn’t make fun of him; instead, he is very patient and tells Manny how to proceed next.

After Manny does it the first time, he is told to do it again, the same for Adam, but just like the first time, Adam’s technique is perfect. Harry realizes that Adam doesn’t need much teaching when it comes to the basics

But he still has to brush through them because policies...

He tells Adam how to maintain a gun, how to clean it, and how everything works.

He then shows Adam some stances, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control, which Adam has already mastered.

As for basic marksmanship, Adam has already shown his capabilities; he doesn’t need to prove anything.

So he moves Adam to the next step while Manny continues to struggle with the handgun.

Harry then gives Adam a walkthrough of different guns. Revolvers, and it’s whole basic steps are like the handgun.

Then the Lever-Action Rifles, and then going through the same steps as before, safety, maintenance, disassembly, and assembly.

Then, semi-automatic rifles, which Adam finds very cool, maybe this will lead him to start collecting guns like a gun nerd.

Then, Bolt-Action Rifles, Automatic/Assault Rifles, Battle Rifles, and finally the Sniper rifle, which greatly interests Adam. If there is a gun that fascinates Adam the most is a sniper rifle, as movies hype these guns up a lot with main characters to can kill someone from kilometers away. Adam wonders if he can be better than those one-in-a-million badass main characters from those movies. Well, with how things are progressing, he doesn’t doubt it.

After rifles, he is introduced to shotguns, Submachine guns, machine guns, Carbines, and many more.

One by one, Adam learns about all of them. Time flies. Hours later, Adam has all the gun knowledge he needs. He now knows how every type of gun works and how to handle them.

Harry is beyond impressed. He feels that Adam should be in the military serving the country, but he is not going to tell a young man to join the army and sign away his life.

Manny is still struggling to reassemble the semi-automatic rifles.

"That’s it for today, we will continue tomorrow," Harry says, seeing that Manny’s not going to progress any time soon. Not everyone is as sharp as Adam.

Manny sighs but listens to Harry.

They both bid their farewells to Harry and walk out. Manny doesn’t seem as down as he was before. He now looks much more upbeat.

"You look much better now. What happened?" Adam asks as he couldn’t help but be curious as to what got this man, who was down on his emotions, to suddenly spring up like this.

"Yes, I might be a little slow, weak, and not good at things, but I am here now. I passed the obstacle course. I need to take it slowly. Sooner or later, I will be able to master all of it," Manny says with determination.

Adam can’t help but be surprised at Manny’s attitude. He wonders why Manny is so hell bent on learning how to fight with firearms.

"Why are you so hell bent on learning this. Spending over thousands of dollars," Adam asks.

Manny looks at Adam, opens his mouth to say something, but shakes his head. "It’s nothing, just something I need to learn," Manny says and goes quiet.

Seeing that Manny has no intention of talking about it, Adam doesn’t bother him any further.

They arrive at the parking lot, and Manny sees Adam walk up to his expensive sports car and is surprised.

"This looks expensive, must have cost you an arm and a leg," Manny says, his voice carrying a tone of envy.

"No, gift from my father," Adam says and gets in.

"Well... it was nice to meet you. See you again next weekend..." Manny says and turns to leave.

Adam watches Manny leave and says nothing. Instead, he starts his car and drives out, and takes a round turn to take the road that takes him home when he comes across Manny again, standing next to the bus stop waiting for a bus.

Adam stops his car and looks at him. "Hey, get in, I will drop you off," Adam says. He usually wouldn’t do this, but seeing and hearing Manny made a good impression on Adam, so he could at least give the guy a ride.

"Are you sure?" Manny asks.

"Get in already," Adam says. Manny nods his head and opens his car door, and gets in. A few people who are standing next to Manny watch this happen. They wonder who Adam and Manny are. The young group of girl friends also can’t take their eyes off the handsome young man driving the car.

"Hey, let’s go and talk to them. I will try to get that handsome guy’s number while you talk to his friend," the good-looking blond girl of the group says to her friends.

"Why do you get to talk to him and not one of us?" One of the girls asks, annoyed. "Have you seen yourself in the mirror? Look at him and look at you? Do you think he will even spare you a glance? You will be lucky if his ugly friend over there gives you some attention," She says. Her words are as sharp as a knife, and even though the other girl is very pissed. She doesn’t confront the blonde girl.

"Follow me," the blond girl says and walks up to Adam’s car while her friend follows her.

"Hey~" she calls for Adam, bending a little, exposing her deep cleavage and big breasts to Adam and Manny.

Manny is taken by surprise as he suddenly has two girls flashing their cleavage to him.

Adam makes eye contact with the blond girl, who blushes a little meeting Adam’s intense gaze.

"Can I help you?" Adam asks.

"Well, my friend and I here thought you both were very good-looking. We were wondering if we could have your numbers," the girl says, putting on her best charming smile while squeezing her breasts with her arms to make them pop some more.

Manny immediately gets overwhelmed seeing the blond girl’s breasts pop out. He can see her areola sneaking out a little from the side, earning an unwanted reaction between his legs.
