CHAPTER 83: XU LIN AGREES

Xu Lin feels as if her heart is about to beat out of her chest as she hears Adam stop her.

She presses her lips tightly and clenches her fists with nervousness as she feels Adam approaching her from behind.

She can feel his presence, size, aura, and warmth radiating from his body.

"Look at me," Adam orders.

Xu Lin feels the pressure on her increase, but she can’t deny Adam’s order. She slowly turns to face him, but keeps her head down.

Adam looks down on Xu Lin. Their height difference, and with Xu Lin’s posture right now, makes her look much smaller than usual.

Adam doesn’t say anything; instead, he brings his hand forward, grabs her by her chin, and makes her look up at him.

Xu Lin’s irises are shaky as she tries to avoid looking into his eyes. Adam can tell she is clearly very nervous right now.

"What’s going on with you?" Adam asks.

Xu Lin, with her eyes looking to the side, presses her lips with nervousness and a heavily beating heart, trying her best to speak up. "N..nothing..." she says meekly.

Of course, Adam doesn’t trust her answer. Even someone who has never met Xu Lin in their lifetime would be able to tell that she is lying.

"You know you can’t lie to me, right? Now, out with it, why are you avoiding me?" Adam asks.

"I... I don’t know what you are talking about..." Xu Lin says, still doing a very bad job at lying.

Seeing her act like this amuses Adam, but this is not the time for him to find Xu Lin’s antics cute. He needs to understand why the girl who was completely infatuated by him a few days ago is acting distant now.

"Come on, Xu Lin, I am not dumb. How can I know what’s bothering you if you don’t tell me about it?" Adam says. His voice, gentle and full of kindness. Something he rarely shows to other people.

Xu Lin starts feeling guilty, seeing how much Adam cares for her and the gentleness and kindness he has for her.

"I... I don’t think I am worthy of Master..." She says meekly. Her eyes, tearing up a little.

Adam is surprised by hearing her words, wondering why Xu Lin would have such thoughts, even though he hasn’t done anything that would make her think so.

"And why do you think so?" Adam asks. His hand gently caressed her face, soothing her with his gentle touch.

"The women... that Master has in his life are so much more beautiful than I... And I am just a maid... I don’t think I should have such feelings towards master..." Xu Lin says.

Hearing her words almost makes Adam chuckle. This is the first time he has seen something like this.

"Who said you are not beautiful?" Adam asks with a smile on his face. Xu Lin doesn’t answer him back; instead, she presses her lips tightly together, feeling embarrassed.

"Let me say this one last time. I think you are very beautiful, Xu Lin. Prettier and cuter than most girls I have ever seen. Many guys would go out of their way to date a girl who looks even half as pretty as you." Adam’s words make Xu Lin feel butterflies in her stomach, but Julia’s words continue to haunt her a little.

"But... what about Master? Will Master like to be with me as well?" She asks, her voice filled with hope.

"Of course, I would love to have you as one of my women," Adam says with a smile.

"And you will not leave me once you are done using me?" Xu Lin asks nervously.

Her words surprise Adam because he never expected an innocent girl like Xu Lin would have such thoughts.

"And why would you think that?" Adam asks back.

Xu Lin becomes nervous hearing his question and quickly turns her eyes away nervously, but Adam can see there is more to it.

"Come on, tell me, you know I won’t get mad at you, right?" Adam says, gently.

Xu Lin looks back into his eyes, her lips part, trying to say something, but there is still hesitation in her thoughts, wondering if it’s okay to out Julia like that.

But she couldn’t continue to lie to Adam when he is looking down at her so gently.

"I... Mistress Julia said... said, that I am not someone Master Adam would care for... She said you would just use me and then throw me away..." Xu Lin says. Her voice, shaky.

Adam is surprised. But now he finally understands why Xu Lin was avoiding him. It was not only self-doubt, but self-preservation.

Xu Lin is a very innocent girl and can be easily influenced, especially if the influencer is someone like Julia.

Adam smirks. He is not angry at Julia’s attempt to distance Xu Lin from him. This just showed him that Julia is clearly jealous of Xu Lin as well.

If she wasn’t, she wouldn’t have even bothered talking to someone of Xu Lin’s status.

Adam looks down at Xu Lin, who stands before him, a nervous wreck. Wondering what Adam would say next.

"Let me tell you something. You better etch this into your mind," Adam says. His other hand wraps around Xu Lin’s back, and he pulls her in closer, lifting her up a little and bringing her face closer to his.

His other hand continues to caress her face gently as he looks into her eyes.

"I would never do that to you. Like I said, you are not like other girls. If Xu Lin becomes my woman, I would never let anyone harm you, and I will take very good care of you. So tell me, Xu Lin, do you want to be my woman?" Adam asks. His eyes locked onto hers.

Xu Lin’s heart starts beating rapidly, hearing Adam’s question. She gets lightheaded, and her face turns red from excitement.

She nods her head. "I want to be Master’s woman..." Xu Lin says, and immediately gets embarrassed and quickly looks away.

Adam chuckles, seeing her acting embarrassed after agreeing to become his. He grabs her chin again and makes her look at him.

"Now that you have agreed to be mine. We need to seal the deal," Adam says and leans in.

Xu Lin’s heartbeat gets even more rapid as she realizes that Adam is about to kiss her. Her legs immediately give up as she closes her eyes and parts her lips to receive his kiss.

Adam’s lips touch hers, sending shivers down Xu Lin’s spine as he begins kissing her.

The first few seconds of the kiss are soft and simple, with only the lips being involved. Then Adam introduces his tongue into the mix, tasting the insides of Xu Lin’s mouth and guiding her through the kiss.

She is clearly very inexperienced when it comes to this. Their lips interchange position, their tongues snake and twirl around each other, exchanging a lot of saliva between their mouth.
