CHAPTER 89: MORE INVESTMENT PLANS

Today felt like a weird day for Adam. He bought a gun because he saw a poster of a zombie apocalypse movie, as it made him realize that even with a freak body, he is still vulnerable to guns and knives.

Now with a gun in his possession, he feels much safer. He also realized that his marksmanship really doesn’t need much training, as his sharp eyes and enhanced mind automatically work together to nail anything he wants, no matter the distance.

If Adam were living in the hunter-gatherer age, he would be the most efficient hunter in his tribe and would have had access to all the female tribe members he wanted. This thought made Adam chuckle.

Now with a gun in his hand, Adam also wonders if he should join a tactical military course to learn how to actually fight with a gun, because just shooting a gun and knowing how to use one in a situation are two very different things.

’I should search online and see if there are any tactical courses in the city,’ Adam thinks. He is pretty sure he will find multiple such courses, as this city has everything to offer that one can need.

Being the capital city of the country, it’s home to every large-scale industry on the planet, media, modeling, movie, music, tech, finance, banking, and many more. There is no shortage of people trying to make it big in this city

Adam’s father, too, was one of those people, and he succeeded, but in return, he had to become the person he is today, a cold, calculative, manipulative, narcissistic person, because the only way to climb the ladder he chose needs this exact type of person.

Adam drives into his driveway and once again finds it empty; his father is not home, like most of the time. Adam is used to this, so he isn’t bothered.

He gets out of his car and walks into his house. As soon as he does, he feels something weird.

As if he is being watched. It’s his sixth sense.

After taking over this new body of his, Adam has realized he has gained some kind of ability to sense if something’s not right. He can tell if someone has bad intentions even if they don’t show it on their faces.

So he stops and looks around with a frown, ’Why do I feel like I am being watched?’ Adam questions and begins looking around. His sharp eyes scan the living room of his mansion, and then he sees something unusual.

A very tiny camera hidden behind a vase. Normal people would never be able to see it, but Adam, who has eagle-like vision, immediately notices it.

’A camera? Who set it up?’ Adam questions. His first guess, Julia. And why? Because she is a scheming bitch. His second guess, his father, because he might be suspecting Julia might be having an affair, and installed those cameras to keep an eye on what happens around the house.

But the more Adam thinks about it, the more unlikely it is for Jack to do all this. The man is too busy with work to care about his wife fucking other dudes.

Even in his past life, when Adam saw Julia messing around with other men for years, Jack never got suspicious because of how busy he was with his work life.

The more Adam thinks about it, the more he is certain that Julia is the one who has these cameras installed. She is the only one who has enough free time and is present in the house all day to do something like this.

’Is she trying to catch me in some kind of act?’ Adam wonders and makes his way towards the kitchen.

He doesn’t bother moving close to the camera; it would just give away the fact that he saw the camera, and it would alert Julia.

The best way to flip this situation upside down is to pretend not to notice those cameras and use it to his advantage, but first, he needs to know what Julia is planning.

Adam walks into the kitchen and notices another camera hidden deep inside one of the shelves. But then it suddenly clicks.

’Wait? Was she trying to do the same last time? But why didn’t I feel the same as I am feeling right now?’ Adam wonders.

The last time he was alone in the kitchen with Julia, things got steamy as Julia initiated intimacy by egging him, but Adam felt something was off and backed out.

But he never felt as if he was being watched that night, like today.

’That woman... I need to be careful. She is clearly very desperate, seeing that she has installed cameras everywhere in the house. That last incident between us must have made her completely lose it,’ Adam thinks and smirks.

He opens the fridge, grabs a can of soda, and heads up the ladder to his room. On his way, he notices a few more cameras, but he doesn’t directly look at them and give away the fact that he knows about them being there.

Adam walks into his room, but unlike the other parts of the house, he doesn’t feel like being watched, but just to be safe, he looks around everywhere in his room and finds no sign of any hidden cameras.

’She is being very careful by not instantly putting any cameras in my room,’ Adam thinks and smirks. Julia clearly doesn’t want to get caught spying on him with hidden cameras and give Adam another advantage over her.

Adam then changes into something comfortable and sits before his computer, and turns it on. The very first thing he looks at is the state of the cryptocurrency. He sees its value has plummeted all the way down and it’s value going back to what it was before the sudden rise, but from what he can see, Adam knows that the value of the coin will continue to plumet until it hits rock bottom, and once it does, Adam is going to put in a million dollars into it and watch it slowly hit even higher peaks over the years.

This 1 million dollar investment of his will turn into over 100 million dollars in the upcoming years, making him a multi-millionaire without doing anything.

As for the rest of the money, he will invest in other things, as he is not dumb enough to put all his eggs in one basket. He knows what will succeed in the future, and by chance, if one of them fails, he will have others to rely on.

Adam then searches for a tactical military course, and he finds multiple ones run by ex-military guys. He looks through different programs, reads through the reviews, and even goes as far as to track the people who posted reviews to see if the reviews are legitimate or paid.

And once he finds a suitable option, he notes down the address in his mobile.

Adam then searches for another investment opportunity. Something he knows will be successful because it’s the business of selling sex. No matter how advanced the world gets or how technology will push humans beyond the limits of this planet, sex will always sell. It will always remain one of the greatest driving forces of humankind.

Adam searches for the app that he frequently used in his past life to get laid. It’s going to become a billion-dollar industry in the future, and Adam is going to make sure he gets a piece of the pie.

He finds the app, it’s still in its early development stage, and the developers and founders of the app seem to be seeking investments right now. But because of the nature of the app, they are having a hard time.

Adam sees his chance and immediately calls the given number. Why would he waste even a second trying to acquire it?

Adam hears the phone ring, and after a few seconds, it gets picked up.

"Hello," Adam hears a young man’s voice on the other end. "Who is this?" the man asks.

"Hello, am I speaking to Tyler Bust?" Adam asks.

"Yes, that’s me. Who are you?" Tyler asks.

"Tyler, my name’s Adam Grant, and I see that you are looking for an investor for your app," Adam says.

Adam suddenly hears panicking, muffled shouting, and squirming before Tyler talks into the phone again.

"Yes! Yes, I mean, we are looking for investors. Are you perhaps interested?" Tyler asks.

"Very. I see great potential in your vision, and I want to be a part of it. What do you say, Tyler? Why don’t we meet tomorrow over some lunch and talk it through?" Adam says.

"Yes! We would love that? When and where can we meet?" Tyler asks. Adam can hear the desperation and eagerness in Tyler’s voice. Adam can tell that he is probably having a very hard time gathering funds for his app.

"Tomorrow, 12 PM, Bonzai Cafe near Central City Mall," Adam says.

"Yes, sir, we will meet you their 12 PM sharp," Tyler says. Adam can also hear another voice in the background pestering Tyler, whom Adam assumes is Tyler’s partner.

"Great, meet you tomorrow," Adam says and ends the call with a smile on his face.

’Those poor guys will probably regret their decision in the future,’ Adam thinks and chuckles. He is going to lowball them, and he knows they will take it, hearing how desperate they sounded.

He is going to make so much money without doing anything, and this puts a massive grin on his face.
