Regret Came Too Late (Grace and Ethan)
Chapter 457
When Jordan heard about how close Ethan and Grace were getting, the smile on his face faltered, but he still said, "Ethan will never lie to me. If he said he doesn''t like her, then he doesn''t. He hasn''t liked anything much since he was young. Maybe the time hasn''te for him to meet his match."
Theodore slowly ced a photo on the table.
It was taken during that dinner when Grace was sitting on Ethan''sp, kissing him.
It was clear that Theodore hade prepared and brought evidence.
"Jordan, Ethan is now grown up and might have his own ideas. If Lillian were still alive, their children would be running around now. It''s a pity. I know I shouldn''t me it on Grace, but a Yule family member did die because of her. No matter how generous I am, I''m not going to let her go so easily. I''ve known Ethan since he was a young boy and would not want him to go astray."
All prestigious families valued marrying someone of equal social standing. If the heir of any family were to marry a woman from a roughneck family, everyone else would mock them for the rest of their lives.
Moreover, Ethan had been the "chosen one" since birth and had always followed the rules. He had never made a mistake in his life.
Now that everything had been said, Theodore stood up.
"I''lle visit you some other day for another game of chess. There''s also an important deal back at the Yule family that I have to settle. I don''t know what has gotten into Simontely. He''s been making a fuss about wanting a divorce. Even our family''s disciplinary methods aren''t working on him."
The two men were best friends. Theodore was changing the subject so that Jordan wouldn''t be embarrassed.
So, Jordan naturally continued with the conversation. "Simon is still a young man, and their marriage was arranged by you. You might appreciate the youngdy, but he hadn''t met her then. It''s normal for him to have such a reaction. He''ll fall in love with her naturally once they spend more time together."
Theodore sighed. He always had a headache whenever he talked about Simon.
"I wouldn''t be so hard on him if he were more well-behaved. He even came to me with hickeys and marks on his body to tell me that if I didn''t approve of his divorce, he''d act like he was single and fool around with different women every day. I almost got a heart attack just hearing what he said."
The two men talked about all the mess Simon had caused while walking downstairs, and the air around them became harmonious once again.
After Jordan had Theodore to the door, his expression darkened.
He gave Jodie a call, asking her toe over.
In the past, Jordan rarely contacted any of the Hendersons. Jodie knew something big was about to happen now that she had received a call from Jordan.
As she went downstairs, she saw Yancey.
Yancey had been cooped up at
home. He would box at the ring
every day, and his demeanor had

Yancey took off the boxing gloves and simply asked, "Where are you going?"
"Grandpa called. He wanted to meet."
Eyebrows raised, Yancey took a bottle from the side and opened it. "If Grandpa were to ask about Grace and Uncle Ethan, what are you going to say?"
"I''ll tell him the truth, of course. Uncle Ethan has always been in love with Grace but she has never been good enough for him and will never be. If Grandpa were to take action, there''s no chance that they''ll be together." s

She was getting agitated. She couldn''t help but wish Grace a miserable life.
After taking a couple of gulps of water, Yancey smiled mockingly. "You''re right, Jodie. Grace doesn''t deserve Uncle Ethan. Remember to tell Grandpa everything. It''s best to provide examples. Grandpa trusts Uncle Ethan too much." s
"Yancey, you hate her too, right?"
Yancey twisted the bottle cap shut, the veins on the back of his hand bulging.
"Yes. Yes, I do."
