Regret Came Too Late (Grace and Ethan)
Chapter 486
To Jodie''s surprise, her words hit a nerve with the nurse.
"Do you still think that you''re some royal princess? Everyone already knows that your dad is Jack Quinn. Do you even know who he is?
"He''s the one who drove my father to suicide. Jack Quinn is a piece of shit and the monster I hate the most in this life!" The nurse''s eyes were all red.
Twenty years ago, her father told them that he was going to thepany to demand his wages. Her mother was the only one at home, taking care of her and her little brother. Her father never came back.
Rumor had it that he was forced to jump off the building because he had blocked Jack''s car.
Her father was the most ordinary one among all the other hundreds of people driven to suicide. His story might be too insignificant to be recorded in history, but it would be forever etched in her memories.
Now that her sworn enemy''s daughter was right in front of her, she was already doing a splendid job suppressing the burning anger within her and not stabbing her right then and there.
The nurse knew that she could not act brashly as she still had other family members. She could not let Jack ruin her family a second time.
The other nurse''s voice became hoarse as well. "Let''s not talk about it anymore. Forget it. Let''s go."
The angry nurse took a deep breath. Then, she looked at Jodie and snickered.
"You sure got lucky, having lived so many years in luxury andfort. But it looks like the one who wanted to protect you has given up. You deserve it!fn0312 The rightful source is Find1Novel/fn0312
"Judging from the extent of your injuries, you''ll have to continue staying in the hospital for quite some time. I''ll be cursing you every day!"
Jodie waspletely clueless about Jack. After all, she had been raised in the Henderson home all these years and had never learned about these things.
Nheless, she felt uneasy because not one person hade to visit her ever since she was hospitalized.
She looked at her phone. It waspletely silent.
She had a few friends in Druville, but why did it seem like everyone had disappeared?
With one swift movement, she removed her arm sling, ignored the pain in her body, and reached for her phone. She called Yancey.
Yancey had told her before that she could look for him if she needed someone to confide in.
While waiting for Yancey toe to the hospital, Jodie saw the news about Jack. She finally knew who this Jack person was.
Her eyes were filled with immense shock. She was in utter disbelief. All she knew was that Ethan had taken her in, but he had never told her who she really was.
She thought that she had been lucky, that even though her birth parents had died, she still had an uncle who was willing to treat her well and give her aplete family. s
All these harsh criticisms felt like daggersing toward her. Her expression
changed, and she clutched her phone tightly in her hand.
"No, that''s impossible. It''s not true. Was Uncle Ethan behind this? That''s impossible. Uncle Ethan would never do this to me!"
She was practically spam-calling Ethan at this point, but it all went to the answering machine. It was as if Ethan refused to pick up her calls.
In the past anytime she was stuck in a predicament, all she had to do was give him a call and he woulde over to her right away to help her clean up all of the mess she caused. s
Fear and panic filled her eyes. She never thought she could be abandoned so easily. Could it be that Ethan no longer cared for the child anymore?
She was literally spam-texting Ethan, but none of it went through. She had been blocked.
She stared at the ringly red exmation mark on the screen. Laughter escaped her mouth. Then, she started to cry.
She wanted to get down from the bed but was struggling to. That was when she heard footstepsing from outside her ward. She thought it was Ethan at first.
Instantly, her eyes became filled with delight.
Child
"Uncle Ethan, knew you wouldn''t give up on me. You were just trying to scare me, weren''t you? You never used to mind it at all whenever↓ made you upset, Besides, that still needs me. I''m the only one he wants. He doesn''t even want you. You''ll never give up on me, Uncle Ethan."
s
However, it was not Ethan who entered the ward but several people she had never seen before.
One of the strangers spoke coldly.
"Ms. Henderson, Mr. Henderson has personally given us orders to have you be reunited with your father abroad."
