Chapter 61: Beginners standard
CHAPTER 61: BEGINNERS STANDARD
"What the hell is that?!"
A small, dry laugh escapes his lips as his golden eyes narrow into a serious glare. "These things.. they’re the things you’re going to be training with." As he speaks, he drops the items on the ground.
Boom!
As the items hit the ground, the sand ripples, and waves of dust soars high in the air.
Oh no, no no no no!
"You’re going to start with something I like to consider the beginners standard of body building." he speaks as his maniacal grin widens.
I slowly retreat. Taking little, careful steps backward. An awkward smile plastered on my face.
As I reach a certain distance, the chain tied to my ankle hinders my movement. I can’t go backward any further.
"It’s useless, kid. Just come, it’s not gonna kill you." He speaks in a casual, upfront tone.
I shake my head profusely, refusing to go there.
I’m tied to a chain and I can’t move, and now he wants to— what even are those? They’re like chains too, but not chains.
"What are those?" I ask with a low voice.
He shakes his head, and the wide smile on his lips fades off. "These here," he points down at the things. "These are what they call weight braces. They aren’t designed to chain you or anything. They just.. add a little more weight to your body." He adds.
I narrow my eyes, my brows furrow into a suspicious glare as I examine the braces on the ground thoroughly.
"Here. Look at mine." He speaks as he raises his arms up, showing me the metallic ring tied around his biceps. "And here too." He points to the one on his wrist too. "They increase the weight of your body. Really good training stuff, I never take them off. In fact, my robes are covering the ones on my thighs, and ankles." He speaks.
He’s right.
The braces on the ground and the ones on his arms look the same.
"So, come closer, kid." He calls with a soft voice.
I nod, and walk toward him.
"You really need to open your eyes and see that not everything foreign is a bad thing. And not every strange thing would kill you." He lets out a sigh as he bends down. "This is why I always tell you to use your head."
I shiver slightly, and my muscles stiffen— preparing to battle as his hands slightly graze my ankle. But I control myself. He’s just removing the chains around my ankles.
As he removes them, he throws them aside, and stands up. "Now. Outstretch your arms." He says.
My brows furrow, and my red eyes lock with his.
He slightly nudges his head toward the direction of the braces lying on the ground.
Then I remember.
Oh. He wants to put the braces on me.
I outstretch my arms hesitantly. And he takes the braces from the ground.
No words are being said right now.
The first brace, he raises it— bringing it closer toward my wrist. It’s like a large bangle made of metal.
His rough, callused palm scratches my right wrist as he grips it firmly.
He removes the pins from the brace that I assume are keeping them together. And he wraps it around my right wrist. And, like a belt hook— he hooks the pin in the hole that’s a perfect fit for the size of my wrist.
"Nng!" I groan as I force my right hand to stay up.
The biceps on my right arm is swelling. Veins keep bulging as I try to keep my wrist up.
I support my wrist with my left hand— barely holding it up.
But then, K grabs my left wrist.
Immediately he does, I drop to my knees and the brace drags my right wrist to the ground.
–Huff– –Huff–
"I knew it.. you want to kill me!" I yell. My face is on the sand, my right wrist is on the sand too. But K’s still holding my left hand high— tightening the brace.
"Shut up." He says with a blunt tone.
Boom!
The brace drags my left wrist to collide with the sand on the ground too.
Now I can’t raise either of my arms. And I’m just kneeling on the ground with my face and two hands on the sand.
"Nnngg!" The groans never stop.
And he raises my right leg.
Fuck. The legs too?
He puts the braces on my two ankles.
Now I’m completely paralyzed by the weight. I cannot stand up. And even if I manage to stand up, I cannot walk.
"There. All done. When you get used to this weight, I’ll put the braces around your thighs and biceps too." He says in a calm voice as he slaps my back.
Fuck you!
"What now? Because, I can’t stand up in case you didn’t know." I ask in a shaky voice.
A soft chuckle echoes, "that’s your first training. Learn to stand up with those weight braces."
Then he pauses.
"And when you’ve learned how to stand with the weight. You learn how to walk." Then his voice echoes right next to my ear, "and when you’ve learned how to walk with them. You learn how to run. Then after you’ve finished ’the beginners course’..." He says in a playful tone, "we’ll get right into the main stuff." He adds.
What? What the hell does he mean by this? This.. is this even training? Is this how swordsmen train? Not even Klaus trained me like this!
"Why the—"
"Mn mn. Nope. Don’t say anything, you’ll only increase the mental drainage of all these if you do." He says as his voice slowly departs from my ear.
)
With a low voice he says, "I’ll be back at night time to chain you here. And, just so you know, the weight of each brace is equal to 1000 tons. So, you’ve got 4000 tons on you. Good luck, Blank." his voice fades away completely.
Huh.
Hold on..
"Four thousand tons???!"
"Four! Thousand! Tons??!!"
