Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 342: We Know
CHAPTER 342: CHAPTER 342: WE KNOW
Kael raised his brow, "You guys know that the language you’re speaking isn’t yours, right?"
"..."
The temperature instantly rose sharply, the few grasses that were rooted to the ground shriveled up as all the moisture in their bodies dried up and evaporated, leaving nothing but crunchy grass behind.
Growls erupted, shaking the earth Kael and Chloe were standing on.
Kael gazed directly into Constantyne’s eyes. The two were of similar height with Constantyne being slightly taller by a few millimeters.
Constantyne generally looked bigger than Kael because of his bigger muscles and bulkier frame. His fiery eyes locked with Kael’s, they stood just three meters apart.
Chloe’s eyes shifted slowly from left to right, observing these tigers.
"Look at them, keeping these tigers as vassals is a bad idea. It’s best if you find another use for them," Chloe said to Kael privately through a telepathic channel.
"You never told me why lions don’t accept other feline creatures as vassals. Is there a problem?" Kael replied through the telepathic channel.
He was indeed thinking of having tigers as his vassals. He hadn’t made his decision yet.
Chloe was more experienced in this matter so he felt like her opinion was good.
"The nerve!" Agatha raised her voice as the temperature instantly plummeted. A faint layer of mist surrounded the vicinity as hot and cold subconsciously struggled for power.
"They speak as though we are not here, is that a way of expressing their false disdain?" Belgrod asked with an inquisitive look, "Interesting."
Kael, still focused on Chloe’s words, heard what they said and maintained eye contact with Constantyne, but kept the conversation going with Chloe.
"There’s no problem at all. It’s actually not a matter of whether we can control them or not. If lions wanted to keep tigers as vassals, we would.
It’s actually out of respect for our lineage." Chloe responded.
"Lineage?" Kael wondered but didn’t press further. He decided to ask more about it if they could pull through this situation.
"Constantyne," Kael spoke the name that Oliver had given him, "Am I wrong, don’t these tigers know that the language you speak is not yours?" Kael asked, a smirk forming on his face.
Constantyne smirked in return, "Yes, they know. They are all perfectly aware of the origins of the language they speak," He said.
Belgrod floated over with a scholarly aura, "We’ve kept a tradition of educating all our tigers once they reach tier 4. It would be unwise to leave such a psychological opening for our enemies to exploit...
Like you just tried to do,"
The smirk on Kael’s face faded quickly. From the look on the tigers’ faces, Belgrod was probably right. All of them knew.
"So you came here for the arkship right?" Constantyne said, "You’re acting like we’re going to fight you for it," He smiled.
"Look at him, showing his aura as if he can beat us. You’re not intimidating or fooling anyone little lion," Agatha mocked, she looked around to see if anyone found her words funny.
Everyone ignored Agatha.
Belgrod got closer to Kael, "There is no need to be so defensive and provocative," He said.
Kael raised a brow, confused. Too many variables that he didn’t account for were appearing and he was struggling with adjusting the plan in his mind.
Chloe frowned, seeing the magic stripes on Belgrod’s body, a sign that he was a Magus Tiger.
"We were hoping that you would in fact come for the Arkship," Belgrod said. He seemed to be the calmest among the trio but Kael wasn’t fooled by his demeanor.
Belgrod was equally as dangerous as Constantyne and Agatha. His intelligence gave him an edge that made Kael pay more attention to him.
Kael was wrong for this as the most dangerous person was obviously Constantyne. He had made another wrong judgment.
"You wanted me to come, why?" Kael asked. Both Kael and Chloe kept their eyes on Belgrod for different reasons.
Kael assumed Belgrod was the bigger threat and Belgrod was the one who spoke common sense among everyone here.
Chloe on the other hand was trying to guess Belgrod’s motives. His acceptance and expectation of Kael’s arrival rubbed her the wrong way.
She racked her brain, knowing that there was something that she was missing.
Something very important to Kael and her.
Belgrod levitated to the side with a blank expression, "Yes, we have been expecting you.
The tigers you see here are simply a security measure, just in case. If there’s no need to fight, we won’t fight," He said.
He had prepared, calculating as many possibilities and acting according to his calculations. Kael was not the only one who knew how to make a good plan.
"You see," Belgrod continued as he turned to look at the colossal curved metal structure jutting out of the ground.
"We know of our origins as tigers of this world. We know everything we need to know not to be surprised.
Our ancestors were cast out of heaven. Yes, we know about heaven because of the journals our ancestors kept.
They would have been doomed, the one they called Noel The Great was ruthless, he was determined to break the Lineage Oath just to see us wiped out.
All because of the mistakes of others. Nationally, his actions are unforgivable and cannot be justified, no matter how glorious he seems to you.
Alas, that’s in the past.
His son, Aziza, knew that some of our ancestors were hiding in a section of the Arkship and tolerated our existence.
Perhaps, his tolerance would be the reason why we are here today, alive and strong.
We don’t know why he tolerated them. Was it pity for our tiger race? Was he feeling guilty for his father’s actions? Or was he just showing a rare moment of generosity?
We don’t know, it’s irrelevant."
Kael looked at the curved metal structure. It looked like the tip of a metal fingernail. He imagined what the full body would look like.
"Your knowledge is quite modern," Kael complimented.
"No, it’s not," Belgrod shook his head, the runes in his eyes squirming about. "All my knowledge comes from the info orbs our ancestors left behind for us.
From those info orbs, I have learned a lot, but not enough. I know that this is an arkship, I know that what you came with is called a magic shuttle.
I know that Aziza had intentionally positioned this Arkship here, drilling it into the world and using its magic circuits to block the Origin Essence of this world.
I know that once this Arkship is lifted from here, all the creatures of this world would benefit, gaining the ability to evolve to their full potential.
As you see, lifting this Arkship will be beneficial to everyone, not just you.
What we don’t know is why Aziza intentionally plugged the arkship into the world. We also don’t know how to reverse it.
To be honest, we don’t have access to a lot of places in the arkship despite it being with us. All we had was an island-sized chamber that housed the ancestors and their belongings in the past.
The only way to lift this Arkship and free the world from the curse Aziza put on it,"
"King Aziza," Kael said while digesting the information, "His name was King Aziza, might as well show him some respect, he saved your lives,"
Belgrod, Agatha, Constantyne, and the other tigers all turned to look at Kael weirdly.
"Very well," Belgrod nodded.
"So you want me to access the inside of the Arkship and lift it? Just for the sake of allowing Origin Essence to permeate the world again?
Surely, that is not all you would gain from it," Kael said.
Belgrod nodded, "Indeed, that’s not all," A surprising level of killing intent suddenly surged out from Belgrod’s body.
"We’ll also be taking the arkship for ourselves," Belgrod announced boldly with a smile.
The look on the tigers’ faces showed that they were supremely confident in Belgrod’s announcement.
Chloe squinted her eyes as she finally realized what she had forgotten. She immediately spoke to Kael through the private telepathic channel.
"Kael, I just remembered."
"What?"
"The arkship might be built by lions and can be controlled by any lion or lioness by default when ownerless.
However, if another creature can gain access to the control center, especially a Magus creature with sufficient skills, they can hack the operating system and change the natural workings of the Arkship.
That is, they can strip control away from the lions and give it to themselves. That is probably what this Magus Tiger intends to do," Chloe said.
Kael didn’t reply immediately. He took in a deep breath, choosing not to get angry over Chloe not giving him this information on time.
It was something worth getting mad over, the anger would be righteous and justified. This information could have helped him create a better plan, one that didn’t put Katari in danger.
Kael sighed, There was nothing to be done now except adapt and be flexible.
"And what makes you think that I would agree to such?" Kael asked as his eyes lit up fully with intense killing intent.
Conflict was imminent.
