The magic shuttle had been hovering silently above the ground as the fight commenced.
Within the magic shuttle, inside the command bridge. Sofia stood in front of the holographic screens, watching the scenes unfold with anxiety.
Around her were different creatures, some humanoid, some still in their base form. None of them were beyond tier 3 equivalent and all of them were staring at the screen with the same anxiety.
At first, she didn’t know what to do, Kael had ordered her to command the magic shuttle and attack once she saw that conflict had occurred.
She would have attacked sooner, just that his battle was too much for her brain to process. The participants of the fight were moving way too fast for her eyes to catch.
She saw someone blasted away at the speed of sound, leaving a deep fissure in his wake.
Then she witnessed Katari...no she couldn’t see anything. All she saw were afterimages and shadows as the tigers flew around, clashing with her.
One lioness against thirty tigers, it was a battle that would be lost.
"FIRE NOW!"
Sofia shouted to the creatures manning the control panels. Her tails flared up like a peacock’s tail behind her.
She insisted that they immediately take a shot, even though they were going to be shooting blindly. As long as they didn’t intentionally aim at Kael and Katari, all should be fine.
Sofia didn’t make the mistake of thinking that she could turn against Kael at this crucial time. The thought came to her head but she quickly crushed it out of fear.
She might not accept Kael’s decision but he was still her king. Without him, the tigers would most likely kill her and take the magic shuttle.
After all, she wasn’t given full control of the machine as she wasn’t a lioness.
The creatures at the control panels already had their screens in front of them and struggled to keep a steady aim, but they fired anyway.
*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM...*
The cannons roared to life as thick blue beams of raw magic energy shot out of their barrels, covering the sky with their glimmer.
The sun seemed to darken and fade away because of their bright light. As soon as they appeared, they had already met their targets.
Multiple explosions echoed out as debris flew everywhere.
"Ah," Agatha yelled as she forced back slamming her back against the metal structure behind her. The burn from that cannon blast was extremely painful, even for her.
Her protective ice barrier had been shattered by that single beam.
Coincidentally, Constantyne also arrived at the exact same time the cannon beam hit Agatha. A trail of red and blue.
The ground collapsed on itself as the golden pillar of flames spread out, melting the rocks into molten magma.
Kael burst out of the ground, covered in golden flames with two large wings behind him. His glowing golden eyes settled on Constantyne just before they clashed.
*BAM!*
The orange and red flames were swept away, revealing their forms in clear detail.
Constantyne was now in his tiger form while Kael was in his lion form. Both exude the mighty aura of a tier 5.
Constantyne was an absolute unit, his muscles were big and his body was overly burly. His bones and flesh glowed with the power of flames. The power of fire and war fused in his body to form a perfect harmonious state.
Kael remained golden as ever. Two antlers grew on his head and his dark gold mane swished with a majestic presence.
Their heads pressed against each other and their paws pushed back on their shoulders, fighting for dominance.
"How is this possible?" Belgrod muttered in wonder from above.
He couldn’t understand why Kael was suddenly showing the aura of a tier 5 when it was supposed to be tier 4.
The strength Kael was showing at this point was already beyond his expectations.
’Did we push him too far that he is burning his life force?’ He asked himself.
He looked around, taking his eyes off the two to see Agatha transforming into her white tiger form. Her eyes gazed at the magic shuttle with clear unfiltered killing intent.
He turned back to see that some tigers had already died, killed by the beams from the magic shuttle’s cannon.
Six tigers had died among the remaining twenty-two that were here with them, leaving just sixteen.
Such a loss could not be forgiven.
His eyes narrowed into slits as both his eyes became filled with green runes. The runes no longer moved around, they remained unmoving in his pupils and iris, giving him an ethereal look.
"All of you, go help the rest take down that lioness. No need to keep her alive," Belgrod said coldly as his claws began to elongate and his muscles began to swell.
The sixteen Tier 4 tigers nodded their heads and rushed off to meet the rest of their comrades who were fighting Katari.
"Agatha," Belgrod turned to Agatha, the white tiger returned with an even colder gaze. "Take down that magic shuttle..."
Belgrod had not finished when Agatha lunged forward, turning into a white stream and sped toward the magic shuttle.
By this time, Belgrod had fully transformed into his tiger form. His fur was orange like most tigers, but his stripes were multicolored instead of black.
As Kael and Constantyne clashed, an opening was formed, exposing the entrance again to Belgrod.
Magic runes lit up on the stripes that were on his shoulders and limbs. His tail curled and released.
Then he rushed, seeking to enter the arkship before Kael could stop him. He was depending on Constantyne to keep Kael busy, or even kill him.
The ground beneath him cracked to form fissures as he raced toward the entrance.
Constantyne threw a fiery slap at Kael’s face, sending the golden lion flying and skidding across the ground for hundreds of meters. Constantyne was keeping him away from the entrance.
Kael saw Belgrod going after the entrance again and roared. He flapped his wings to catch up but Constantyne pounced on him, smashing him into the ground and biting at his neck.
Still, vines crept out of the ground and chased after Belgrod.
However, all this was unnecessary as the gate to the entrance suddenly swung from the inside and closed shut. Belgrod slammed headfirst into the sturdy gate, causing a ringing sound to echo out.
The whole meta struck vibrated, not from Belgrod’s collision, but from something else. The vines fell and the moss slowly decayed.
Even the ground shook slightly before becoming normal.
"NOOOOOOO!" Belgrod shouted angrily. He roared and clawed relentlessly at the gate, unwilling to accept what had just happened.
...
Agatha leaped from one ice platform to another, quickly covering the distance between her and the magic shuttle.
Sofia, who stood inside the bridge, had her eye on the holographic screen. She had seen the damage the cannons had caused and she was seeing what could best be described as a retaliation.
Through the holographic screen, she could see the white tiger coming straight at them. She jumped from one ice platform to the other, creating them as she got higher and faster.
"FI.." Sofia wanted to order but someone had already panicked and pressed the button.
Two cannons outside aimed at Agatha, charging with blue light that threatened to obliterate her.
Agatha’s eyes narrowed, flashing with a blue icy light.
Two ice blades, each more than a hundred meters long, appeared beside her.
The two cannons fired at the same time.
One of the blades slashed out from the front, meeting the blue beam and cutting through it.
The blue beam parted ways into two streams. One stream went up, the other went down, and scorched the ground.
Agatha effectively parried the cannon beam. The second ice blade then came down from above.
Sofia’s eyes widened as she saw the jagged ice blade heading straight for their hull.
"Everyone, take cover!"
*SHING!*
The ice blade made contact with the magic barrier. The barrier lit up and held its own against the gigantic jagged blade for some seconds before freezing and collapsing.
An opening was made in the magic shuttle’s defense, allowing the ice blade to strike the hull. It cleaved through the first layer of metal before stopping.
The whole one-kilometer-long vessel shook with intense vibrations passing through its metal walls.
"Wait, where is she?" Sofia asked as she held on to the control panel. Amidst the flashing red lights from the ceiling, the holographic screen showed that the white tiger was missing.
"There she is!" A female bear exclaimed while looking at the screen in front of her.
There, the screen showed live footage of the top of the magic shuttle.
A white tiger was on the metal hull, slashing away at the metal body and slowly ripping into it layer by layer.
Her claws, which were covered in sharp ice shards, were sharp enough to tear apart the body of a shuttle.
"Just wait until I get my claws on you..." She said as she used her mouth to rip out some magic cables.
Agatha was truly furious.
