CHAPTER 355: CHAPTER 355: NOEL’S CREATION

"Your Majesty, we are in trouble," Chloe said calmly.

Kael looked up at her sitting form, he didn’t say anything at first.

The way he was at that very second, standing below and looking at someone who was supposed to be beneath him, it irked him in ways he could not have imagined.

This was the highest level of discomfort he had ever felt all at once.

To look up to someone else as though they were above him.

Insecurities flooded in with full force, causing Kael to wear a visible frown on his face.

This was just like his past life when he had to look up to his bosses and obey their every word so that he could survive on their salary.

"Get down," Kael commanded sternly.

The air went stale all of a sudden as Kael subconsciously released a heavy oppressive aura. Even in his weakened state, his aura was still impressive and a cause for submission.

Chloe blinked, confused at first by Kael’s tone.

"Sorry, Your Majesty," Chloe apologized, even though she didn’t really know what she did at first.

She had looked down on Kael too many times to attribute anything to her current posture. After all, she was a winged being that spent a lot of time flying, looking down on everyone was something she did very often.

Chloe stood up from the high cushion and jumped down.

At the same time, Kael placed his palm on the black colored unnecessarily large black pillow and spoke to Chloe, "Transfer all commands to me,"

Katari turned to look at Chloe indifferently, watching to see what Chloe’s reaction would be. For Chloe’s sake, she hoped that she wouldn’t do something rash.

Chloe acted immediately, giving Kael supreme command over the Arkship through the integrated operating system.

As soon as she did so, Kael felt his mind linked with the Arkship and everything within it.

"Kael, did I do something wrong?" Chloe asked with a saddened expression. She didn’t know why Kael was talking to her so harshly. If he had spoken normally, she would have still obeyed his request regardless.

She was bound to him by contract after all and couldn’t be disloyal without expecting some pain herself.

Kael rubbed his palm on the smooth leather surface of the cushion, "No, I just thought of something, that’s all..." He said.

"Sorry," He added after some hesitation.

He understood that Chloe might not have had any ulterior motives when sitting on the cushion.

"You did well, Chloe, and you too Katari. Well done," Kael turned around and said with a smile. Now that the Arkship officially belonged to him, he was in a better mood.

Katari simply nodded while Chloe smiled and said "Thank you,"

She still wondered why Kael had acted like that but decided not to press on it.

Kael knew that this was probably a side effect of the Spirit Eye, and he noticed it quickly. Normally, even if he had those flashbacks, unless it was a strong memory from the Primordial Lions, he would remain calm.

Yet, a simple unintentional act from Chloe caused him to be so riled up.

’Is this what it means to be emotionally displaced?’ Kael wondered. He didn’t like it, he preferred being in control.

"You said we’re in trouble, what’s wrong?" Kael asked as he began to observe his surroundings.

Hovering in front of them was a bright hologram of the Arkship. It floated in place in the center of the Command Chamber.

The Command Chamber itself was not dark at all, rather, the place was quite bright.

The only original solid thing in the whole chamber was the one-piece marble ground and the high command cushion.

Everything else was made of Hard Light, forming different holographic projections all over the chamber.

Screens, control panels, holographic diagrams, maps, and hover platforms. Everything here seemed like it had come out of a heavenly party of faeries.

"When I took control of the Arkship, I checked some things that I had been trying to confirm for some time.

The Operating System filled me in on the last logs and objectives it had received from its last owner.

You wouldn’t believe it, the owner of this Arkship was not just Aziza, as we expected, it was..."

"Noel," Kael completed her words for her as he received the log records from the Arkship.

His heartbeat skyrocketed.

How was this possible?

Red screens flashed across Kael’s eyes, each one bringing him one heart-shaking news after the other.

"No," Kael shook his head as he checked it very well.

"Aziza was also an owner, in fact, he was the owner after Noel. But that would mean..."

Kael didn’t talk but Chloe knew what it meant.

She had checked it well.

Noel was not just one of the owners, he was the creator of this Arkship.

There were only two previous owners other than Chloe. Aziza and Noel.

Aziza was the second, Noel was the first.

And Noel was registered as the original creator of this Arkship.

Kael took in a deep breath, so many things were starting to make sense.

’So he had been planning everything from the moment he engineered this machine...’

Kael dived deeper into the records to understand the ’trouble’ Chloe was talking about.

It turned out that Noel had specifically created and modified this Arkship to do what it did.

Noel created this Arkship and gave it to his son, Aziza. There was no record of a conversation between them but Kael guessed that Aziza knew what to do with it.

Aziza came here to planet Eridoria, another gift that had been given to him by his father.

Planet Eridoria used to be rich with Origin Essence, a perfect world to breed strong vassals for the lion civilization.

Alas, it was meant for something else.

After the death of Noel, Aziza jammed the whole Arkship into the side of the planet, using his overwhelming might as a Fortune-Magus Chimera to create arrays and magic formations at different locations of the planet.

Aziza had done something extraordinary then.

He had forcefully redirected most of the Origin Essence being generated by planet Eridoria to the arkship to keep it at full power.

Why?

So that the Arkship could generate a powerful spatial field that would cover the whole planet, shielding it from detection and external threats.

The only way the Arkship could keep up such an objective for so long was with a terrifying amount of Origin Essence flowing in at a constant pace.

Aziza had literally used the whole planet as fuel to protect the Primordial Lion

Basically, the Arkship was the reason why the lions from heaven were having trouble locating this place.

They had been able to lock on to Aziza’s Heavenly Beacon due to some slight errors that the ship quickly fixed.

Or was it?

Looking at everything, Kael felt that it wouldn’t be surprising if Noel or Aziza had actually engineered the Arkship to ’fail’ at that exact time.

Had Noel really been planning everything from the start? If so, it would mean that he knew he was going to die long before he fought the dragons.

But still, this was a testament to how powerful Aziza and Noel had been. As Adolf had once mentioned, Aziza would have had to be disgustingly powerful for his aura to still be felt even after a million years.

That was just his aura, he had also reengineered the whole planet to link with his Arkship so that he could create a spatial shield around his planet.

That wasn’t just strength, a terrifying level of intelligence was needed to accomplish that.

But his father, who was vastly stronger and apparently more intelligent, died at the claws of Ibadon.

Ibadon.

Kael sighed, feeling the trouble Chloe was talking about now.

Since the Arkship had been the source of the spatial shield around the planet, it needed to remain in place, sucking the Origin Essence to keep it stable.

However, now that they had removed the Arkship and cut off its access to its Origin Essence monopoly, the Origin Essence spread out.

The Arkship would not be able to maintain the spatial shield around the planet for much longer.

It was already fading before due to much external interference brushing against it. Now, its collapse would be accelerated.

Soon, the spatial shield would fall. The Primordial Lion would be exposed to the universe.

Everything that had a beef with the lion civilization would make their way to this planet to settle their scores.

The dragons, the bees, the Anti-Primordial Coalition.

They would all come for Kael soon if he did not find a way to protect himself.

"Ten years, max," Kael said to Chloe and Katari.

"That’s how long we have, it could be less. It could be eight, it could be five, it could even be next year." He added.

"What are we going to do?" Chloe asked, feeling the sense of urgency.

"We make preparations, as usual. I’ve survived up till this point, I owe a part of that to Noel.

Even in death, his actions have an effect.

His sacrifices won’t be for nothing," Kael said.

"The tigers that chased after you, where are they?" Kael asked as he began to look through the surveillance runes in different chambers.

"Oh, they’re right behind us," Chloe said with a stressed but vengeful smile on her face.
