CHAPTER 399: CHAPTER 399: THE PLAN?

"What’s your father doing here at this particular time?" The electric lioness asked.

Alora narrowed her eyes as a strong killing intent flowed out of her body. Her tired body instantly became tense like a bow string that was pulled to the limit.

"I don’t know, and I don’t want to see him, not now," Alora said.

Shawty immediately sent back a telepathic message to one of her subordinates.

A few seconds later, she frowned.

"He said he’s not living until he sees you, Alora," Shawty said.

The temperature in the room plummeted drastically as Alora’s eyes glowed a frightening blue.

’So, even he wants to strike me when I’m vulnerable?’ Alora thought to herself. But she reasoned that it couldn’t be the case.

To her, Pagast was more of a control freak than an executioner. Why would he be here if not for it just being a coincidence?

But wasn’t it too much of a coincidence that Pagast was coming here at this time? After all, almost every lion in heaven had been alerted by the pulse.

How long has it been since she came back?

It was too much of a coincidence.

Unless Pagast was already on his way to visit his dear daughter...

That was very unlikely and unusual.

"Well then, can he force his way in?" Alora asked Shawty. She wasn’t sure how to deal with her father’s stubbornness and unwillingness to let go.

"Not unless he wishes to die," Shawty said with a confident nod.

"Okay then, I’ll let him stay there and receive him whenever I feel like it," Alora said.

"Ayaa, so harsh. I’m glad my dad and I didn’t have this relationship. If only he were alive..." The electric lioness muttered out loud.

They all ignored her as the rest began to ask Alora for details about what she experienced on the frozen planet.

"Your Majesty, Alora has clearly refused to see you. Something must be wrong with her, surely."

One of Pagast’s consorts said.

Pagast reclined his back against the crystal throne in the command bridge. His hands were put together in front of his face and his two index fingers were pressed against his lips.

His blue irises shine with a faint menacing blue light. Truly, only he could have created someone like Alora.

Alora’s blatant refusal to see him at this time made him deeply uncomfortable and touched upon his narcissistic scales. He was here on orders of a higher being but now, this was personal.

How dare she act like he didn’t exist? How dare she act like he wasn’t her father?

The edge of Pagast’s lips curved upward slightly.

"Good girl,"

The consort had an uneasy expression, "Your Majesty, should we leave?"

"No," Pagast shook his head, "We’ll wait here until we get a chance to meet her.

If only she were more like her mother...

The greater the disrespect, the more I would enjoy crushing her."

The consort nodded, shivering slightly at the mention of Alora’s mother. It wasn’t a memory worth keeping.

But the events of that day burned clearly into her mind and everyone who had been present.

The consort bowed and went to relay orders and prepare for a long wait.

As the lady walked away, Pagast’s eyes shifted to her back, his gaze following her swaying butt and his sight curving over her hips.

He would like to ravage her once she was done. Her subtle shaking and the fear in her eyes didn’t go unnoticed by Pagast.

As a matter of fact, that fearful expression, that desire not to be harmed, that willingness to do everything to stay alive, that was what turned Pagast on.

And Alora was just not like that, at least, not anymore since she had stopped pretending.

Pagast decided to stay here and wait for Alora, not because of his obsession with controlling her, but because he didn’t dare to.

The entity that had given him his orders was not one to be disobeyed.

In this case, it was better to fail and his cover be blown than not even make an effort at all.

Chloe, Kael, and Marcus were in a room of one of the Pyramids of the arkship.

This pyramid was a bit different from the others as it had a lot of windows.

Marcus and Chloe stood on opposite ends of the rectangular table at the center of the room.

"I just finished chatting with my grandfather," Chloe said, "He’s going to use the exchange feature to send us a map."

"What does he want in return?" Kael asked. He was facing the only window in this room, staring into the flat plains and the artificial horizon, allowing the light of the artificial sun to bathe his body.

The king had his hands behind his back, unknowingly flexing his biceps and pectoral muscles.

"Just one Conqueror Point, he also wants to be part of the plan." Chloe said, hoping that Kael would refuse, "He didn’t tell me why,"

"Okay, he’ll be useful," Kael said plainly as he readjusted his plans in his mind again.

"Anything else?" He asked.

They had just finished a group chat meeting with the thousands of lion kings that Kael was familiar with.

Before the meeting started, they had all signed a Conqueror Contract not to reveal the contents of the meeting to anyone until the completion of the plan.

Only when everyone had signed it, did the meeting start.

The plan was discussed, some changes were made, but the final decision was left to Kael.

"I was wondering, what do we do after?" Chloe asked.

"If you ask this, are you confident that the plan will work?" Kael asked, squinting his eyes.

When the light of the artificial sun rested on his eyes, it made them look extra beautiful. His golden irises looked like tinted glass casings while the black pupils were as dark as the void.

"I don’t see any flaws in the plan, Kael," Chloe said.

"We shall see," Kael gave a simple response. Just because it was his plan didn’t mean he was fully confident it would work.

His mind was still alert, constantly looking around for any errors.

One could never be too careful when thousands of lion kings led by a freaking Time Lion were looking to execute you.

And there were still the dragons lurking around too, waiting for the right moment to strike.

"As for what we will do after. Let ’after’ come first," Kael said ominously.

Chloe sighed.

"I’ll go and update the mapping system of the arkship in the command chamber," She said.

Kael waved his hand without looking at her, "Please do, I want to discuss with Marcus privately."

Marcus, who had been standing there, idle, finally perked up. He operated on a need-to-know basis and if Kael didn’t see the need to explain whatever was going on, he wouldn’t ask.

"Kael, are you angry with me? I’m trying to help us..." Chloe pleaded telepathically to Kael.

"Angry? Why would I be angry?" Kael asked as he turned around to face Chloe.

"If you’re still thinking about your subconscious act to protect yourself, it’s nothing. I’m not angry," Kael said, but he didn’t smile.

He talked like he was just telling her what she needed to hear so that she wouldn’t stress him.

Chloe sighed, "Do you still love me?" She asked all of a sudden.

Hearing the question, Kael tilted his head to the side, "Do you want me to lie or do you want the truth?"

Chloe thought for a moment and decided she would probably not like the answer. Asking such emotional questions to Kael would only guarantee that she hurt herself.

’He’s not abandoning me, that’s all that matters,’ Chloe thought.

"Never mind," She said, no longer wanting to hear the answer, whether it was the truth or a lie.

After that, Chloe walked out of the room. As soon as the blue shimmering door appeared, Kael turned his attention to Marcus.

"Your Majesty," Marcus greeted out of habit. It was his way to break the awkward silence. He hadn’t been involved in the duo’s telepathic conversation and to him, it looked like they were just staring at each other.

"Marcus, how are you?" Kael greeted, paying attention to his face and making an effort to put on a softer expression.

Macus smiled, "Doing well, your Majesty. The vultures are all ahead in their preparations for Operation Exodus.

I believe we should be ready within the month," he said. As he smiled, his black eyes with white rings were squinted, giving him a scary look.

"A month? That’s too late. Push everyone harder, I need them ready within a week. If not, they will be left behind.

Let the weaklings be added to food and sustenance if need be," Kael said while still maintaining his slightly warm expression.

"Oh," Marcus didn’t know how to respond for a moment, "Yes, Your Majesty, I’ll try my best."

Kael nodded, finally reaching the other end of the table where Chloe had been standing,

"I have finally prepared the contract that will allow us to share powers,"
