CHAPTER 500: CHAPTER 500: PRIDE OR SOLO

"All-King, it will indeed work like that," Exalon said excitedly as he thought about the two suggestions Kael was making.

Both of them were sitting in one of the numerous meeting rooms and discussing as usual.

Kael had just been talking about two features that he was adding to the lion system recently.

The first was the vassal fusion. Kael knew that all the lion kings in his system had numerous creatures under them as vassals.

These creatures were basically living resources waiting to be harvested by Kael.

Billions of them, all over the universe. Who knew which one was harbouring a primordial?

Kael had to make sure that all the lions registered their vassals in the vassal records.

This would not only increase his influence but also indirectly give him more power to reach his goals.

Kael could imagine what it would be like if every creature in the universe were connected to him through the system. Anyone with that kind of power was no different from an omnipotent god that could control every single thing in existence.

There was still a long way to go but encouraging the lion kings to add their vassals to the vassal record was the first step in all this.

Not just the lion kings in the lion system, Kael wanted the vassals belonging to the many other lion kings that were yet to join.

There was also the case of the many lost heavenly beacons that were yet to be recovered. Creating heavenly beacons was something that even Exalon didn’t know yet as no heavenly beacon had been created since the time of Noel.

This meant that the lion civilization was still limited by the number of heavenly beacons they had. It wasn’t a serious limitation but there were rumors that the dragon empire owned some heavenly beacons belonging to the Leonine Heavenly Realm.

Alas, for now, Kael would settle on encouraging the lion kings he knew now to add their vassals to the vassal records first, he would handle the remaining matters later.

With the wolf system, vulture system, and the fix system now activated, any wolf, fox, or vulture added to the extended vassal record would automatically be implemented into their respective systems.

But this was just the first part of Kael’s discussion with Exalon.

Earlier, Exalon had been talking about increasing the significance and relevance of the pride structure and dynamics.

He had talked about the Dominant Roar, an ability that was only accessible to those who had joined the system.

Exalon appreciated such ability and mentioned that it had indeed increased the overall power of the individual lions and lionesses.

But Exalon also talked about the pride structure and how it would be nice if the system had some kind of ability or feature that benefited those who were in a pride.

Exalon spoke of this because there were a lot of situations where lions or lionesses would look around and find that there was no need for a pride in their lives.

They were not wrong for this as most of the lions and lionesses who were taking this route were just incredibly strong and had no need for a pride.

From what Kael was seeing, Silas, one of his sons, could end up on this route. Silas had always been incredibly talented and because he was usually around and compared to other monsters like Ozia, Jeremiah, and Kratos, it was hard to appreciate his talent.

Silas had consistently shown that he really didn’t like stressful things and excess responsibilities even though he was the most sensible and responsible among the bunch.

One had to remember that Silas had gained the third eye from a very young age, something that most spirit lions wouldn’t be able to gain in their whole lifetime.

Another example of someone who was taking this route was Alora. Yes, she was a lion Queen, but if Kael had not roped her in recently, she would have probably remained single and without a pride of her own for the rest of her life.

Then there was Ma’abu’s mysterious mentor, Memphis. Exalon mentioned that for as long as she has been known, they had never seen or heard her identify a single pride as hers.

Memphis wasn’t even a lion Queen as she didn’t have a heavenly beacon. She wanted a peaceful life of solitude and didn’t really appreciate the challenges that one heavenly beacon would eventually bring.

And if she had ever needed to go down to the main universe, something that has not yet been recorded to have ever happened, she could just ask anyone.

The average lion king would be glad to help someone like Memphis open a heavenly gate to the main universe.

What Exalon was proposing was a feature or ability that would discourage other lions from becoming like them by offering benefits that could never be gotten if they went solo.

Lions were social animals by nature, it was their instinct to create pride communities and live amongst each other unlike most of their other feline ancient cousins.

Going solo was literally going against their nature and if more of them did this, eventually, it would be the spark that would lead to the formation of a new unoriginal feline species.

It was something like this that led to the dragons branching off various creatures like drakes, wyverns, wyrms, and other types of Branch races of the dragons.

It wasn’t as if Kael had not thought of something to capitalize on the pride structure of the lions but it was only now that he was thinking about it in depth.

And from Exalon’s suggestion, Kael knew the best feature to implement.

In fact, he was already working on the feature as they spoke and Exalon was talking to him at the same time.

"Think of it like this, Kael; A synchronization of all pride members, a feature that allowed them to be connected by power level," Exalon was saying.

"Keep talking," Kael said while multiple golden screens appeared and disappeared in front of his face as he modified the feature according to Exalon’s suggestion as well as his own ideas.

"Imagine if they could share powers. Of course, they can’t share the unique abilities of their lionheart, not everyone is like you.

But, they can transfer raw power and energy from one pride member to another, ensuring that the pride members have the backing of the entire pride no matter where they go.

It’s like a mini Conqueror Mode Avatar, except very limited and only privileged to the pride members of any given pride.

Tens of lionesses could pour their power into another lioness or the pride member and it would stack up, only being limited to the power level they all had.

And, we could also try it this way..."

Exalon continued talking and talking as if he were the one who was going to design this feature.

Meanwhile, Kael was busy stimulating different scenarios and power structures that would allow this feature to work while also not consuming too much Conquering Essence.

He wanted this feature to be a unique ability of the lions, just like the dragon’s dragon breath.

The dragons had one unique ability that allowed them to infuse Destruction Essence into their bodies, fuse it with their powers, and shoot it out of their mouths as powerful beams or force waves.

Now that Kael was working on this feature with Exalon butting in with anything he might forget, Kael had already thought of the perfect name for the feature.

’Pride Sync,’

Kael thought to himself with a satisfied smile as his fingers swiped into blurs beside him.

His golden eyes were encompassed by blurring images of golden ability power diagrams. He was also considering how this could work with arkships too.

Yes, Kael was thinking of everything on the spot. If he could also find a way to modify the Pride Sync ability in such a way that even arkships and their pilots can be synced, it would make the lion race almost unstoppable.

With nothing else to confirm, Kael, like every other time, had to start from somewhere.

So, while he wanted to increase the number of extended vassals under his control, he was also working fast to introduce the new feature so that Lions could adapt to it as fast as possible.

With it, they would gain another advantage on the game stage that was the universe.

At the same time, while Kael was working on the new feature, he felt a deep and dreadful sense of danger.

Not just him, all the fortune lions and lion kings who were in their arkships, magic shuttles, or inside the massive black pyramid could sense danger rapidly approaching.

And this danger was serious, very serious.

Kael frowned, pausing his high-speed computation and calculation and moving his eyes away.

This danger was not like he knew he felt with those dragon commanders. This one was really bad, but not as bad, but still really bad.

All the hair on Kael’s body stood on end.

"Exalon, something is wrong!"
