CHAPTER 501: CHAPTER 501: THEY’RE SINNERS

"Exalon, something’s wrong," Kael said as he paused what he was doing.

All the golden screens in front of him froze for a moment, no longer blurring in and out of existence in front of him.

Exalon frowned too, "What is it?" He asked while standing up.

If Kael said something was wrong with such a serious expression, it was better for everyone to listen to him attentively.

"Danger, now, coming straight toward us," Kael said, his eyes closed as he tried to interpret the fortune signal.

"I’ll ready the others," Exalon said. He didn’t need to hear more; he directly walked out of the room, his broad shoulders appearing as if they were supporting enormous burdens.

His deep yellow eyes gleamed with killing intent.

"All-King, focus on your work. We’ll handle anything that comes," Exalon said with determination before walking out of the room and leaving Kael all alone.

Kael sat in silence for a few seconds, noticing how the misfortune signal was getting stronger with each passing second.

But, he was somewhat satisfied with what just happened. Wasn’t this how things were supposed to be?

Kael would focus on his self-proclaimed duty and the others would handle everything else for him. He wouldn’t need to handle everything by himself.

It was a nice feeling of authority that Kael was getting used to. But at the same time, he reminded himself not to relax.

Whatever was coming, if it could get past Exalon and his defenses as well as the other lion kings, it would surely get to him.

Kael’s paranoia would not allow him to just sit still like Exalon actually intended.

’But, what can I do?’ Kael thought to himself.

His golden eyes refocused on the golden screens in front of him as well as the universal codes being written on them.

Kael narrowed his eyes, understanding that there wasn’t much he could do...directly.

But he could still do something.

Kael smiled, feeling like a puppet master about to change the strings on his puppets.

His mind began working again as he hurried to complete the Pride Sync feature.

...

Outside, things were being arranged quickly as the fortune lions warned the comrades about what was happening.

If it were just one or two, they might have chalked it down to an isolated event that was about to happen to one particular individual, not everyone.

But every fortune lion was suddenly starting to warn them of the approaching danger.

The Primordial Supporters Coalition had recently gained about fifteen to twenty thousand fortune lion kings at once after the raid of the string of fate coalition.

Although, by now, the neutral String of Fate coalition and the rest of its members had been trying to get back together, it didn’t matter to Kael.

Now, the Primordial Supporters had a slice of the whole civilization’s fate stability under their control.

Not all of them were currently residing around the massive black pyramid but more than twelve thousand were currently positioned around the vicinity.

For all of them to be reporting the same thing was not a good thing at all.

And then, news came that Exalon was suggesting that everyone prepare for battle. According to him, the All-King had just warned that serious danger was coming their way.

This final warning was like a bucket of cold water, even on the fortune lions.

If a fortune lion can sense misfortune even when not joining powers together like the Strings of Fate Coalition members used to do, it meant that the coming misfortune could directly affect him.

If Kael could feel it, it meant that it was in fact a serious danger to his life.

Now this was different from just any other danger. Kael was their lifeline. Even those who had been forced to join the system found that they really couldn’t live without these features in their life.

Compared to their time without the system, their life now was more purposeful and ordered. It was as if they finally had something worth living for.

And they heard that the All-King was constantly working on new features that would make the lion’s life exciting and blend their culture with their affiliated law.

That something could be a direct threat to them was not something they found strange. Most of them have had to vanquish countless enemies to remain in their position and they were not afraid of any new challenges.

But for something to help a threat to Kael? That was a whole other level of seriousness.

The whole massive pyramid seems to suddenly enter a new level of alertness. The arkships drew closer to the pyramid, forming layers of defensive rings.

At the same time, the planet-sized black pyramid began to change too. The metal plates that made up the sides of some corners shifted to reveal various cannons of various sizes.

It seemed like lions had some kind of fetish for explosive long-range weapons like cannons.

They didn’t really use guns, or other less powerful long-range weapons, even those with slightly larger bullets.

They liked the cannons a lot.

And they got them ready. Hundreds of thousands of cannon barrels appeared from the spaces of the pyramid and the various arkships.

With close to thirty thousand arkships present, it was hard to say what kind of force would be capable of withstanding this kind of power.

Well, they were about to find out.

"I see it," One space lion king said as he amplified his sensory abilities with the help of his arkship.

He was able to sense the strange way space was bending due to the movement of so many powerful and large objects.

Gravity was warping and the multicoloured void could be seen twisting erratically in the distance.

"I see it too," Another lion king said as his cannons flared with an icy aura.

"My goodness, so many!" Someone exclaimed.

"They’re not slowing down! Fucking heavens! They’re not slowing down!"

"They’re cannons are out, they’re really trying to tear through this place."

"Who could it be?"

"Ma’abu, that despicable sinner!"

"They’re all heretics!"

"Good, no guilt in destroying these fuckers!"

"What heretics? What sinners? All I see are system rewards. Hahahah!"

"Exalon!"

Exalon was standing inside the throne room of the pyramid, controlling all the weapon systems.

Two other humanoids were with him, one was one of his consorts and the other was one of the princes of his clan.

"I’ll be handling this one directly, the All-King is with me," Exalon said softly as he looked at his consort and prince.

His deep yellow eyes were starting to be veiled by a faint golden hue.

"I’ll control everything from here, the All-King will be safe, father," The Prince said as he nodded his head. He was just like his father, tall and muscular with eyes filled with honesty.

Exalon nodded at both of them then waved his hand. Behind him, the wall opened up to show the vastness of the heavenly realm.

The multicoloured glow of the void shone carefully, caressing the mighty figure in the ethereal light.

Exalon turned around to face the hole in the wall. He walked to the edge and saw that all the arkships had already positioned themselves.

And for the sake of an extra layer of defence, countless magic shuttles had been released.

Everyone knew that these shuttles were more likely to be cannon fodder, but they still brought them out.

Just then, Exalon heard one of the lion kings call his name. Since Exalon was the closest person to the All-King, they automatically assumed he was some kind of second in command.

They were waiting for him to say something, after all, this was also his pyramid. And if they didn’t get an answer from him, they would look to Kael for answers directly.

It was funny how these kings who were used to making decisions for themselves were now ordering themselves to listen to their primordial.

Fortunately, Exalon and Kael were both present and had no intention of leaving them without an answer.

"They are all sinners? What are you waiting for?" Exalon asked.

That was enough as all the arkships immediately released their cannon blasts.

What occurred was a light show like no other.

Hundreds of thousands of colorful beams streaked through the sky, twisting light, space, and time, to reach the incoming hostiles.

On the opposite side, the hostile arkships that were rushing over to stop as soon as they saw the beams. Many of them were able to put up their defensive barriers on time but not all were lucky.

The arkships that could not defend themselves in time were blown to pieces, their metal frames drifting through the void along with the bodies of their commanders.

"Wait, are those?" One lion king asked but couldn’t quite complete his question. His cannon blast had successfully pierced through the hull of an arkship that was defenseless.

Along with cannon blasts from his comrades, they had destroyed the hostile arkship. Now, they could see the corpse of the creature that was inside.

These arkships were still far away and they couldn’t yet tell that not all belonged to lions.

They were expecting to see the bodies of lions and lionesses floating among the wreckage.

"Tigers?"
