Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 503: Wingless
CHAPTER 503: CHAPTER 503: WINGLESS
Meanwhile, down below, King Saul floated calmly with Thawne beside him.
If not for subtle differences in body fat and facial structure, one might assume they were brothers or twins.
Currently, King Saul was gazing at the clashes and colorful lights with a serious expression.
His eyes had turned golden and his mind was ravaged by the intent of Kael.
Countless flashes of light streamed into his eyes and filled his heart with trepidation.
"Father, how do you...feel?" Thawne asked. This was the first time he had ever seen something like this.
He had only heard that Kael had used the technique with Alora and that was how she was able to defeat her father while still being at tier 5.
Kael had just contacted his King Saul, not long ago and told him about it, King Saul naturally agreed.
It was hard to say whether King Saul had agreed out of excitement or fear. King Saul knew that he was on a watchlist because of the fact that he had been defending the words of King Vander.
Saul knew that many lion kings would never forget about that even if Kael decided not to talk about it. They would still keep it on their minds and they might even decide to stigmatize King Saul because of it.
King Saul didn’t want that. He didn’t want to be isolated from the system, talk less of being labelled a sinner.
Without conviction, he allowed Kael to do what he wanted to do, infusing his boy with the power of the Primordial.
His aura sweeps out and the fortune power of a tier 7 lion king swept through the battlefield, propelled from one corner to the other by other fortune lion kings.
They all worked together with King Saul, using a slice of the whole race’s fortune and fate to influence this battle.
The result was just as one would expect. The tiger arkships began to be destroyed in the multitudes. Thousands upon thousands were being barraged despite having the numerical advantage.
The Tiger race did not have Fortune Tigers, there had never been a tiger born with Fortune Tigerheart. And if there was any burn like that that was undocumented, then it was merely an anomaly, not a constant.
Tigers had never been the type to depend on things like luck or fate, they’d rather carve out their destiny with their claws and strength.
Any lion king present could be certain that the tigers did not have the power of fortune backing them up.
*BOOM!*
Exalon struck out again, slapping away another incoming arkship with the back of his colossal palm. Each casual blow from him packed the power of a moving continent.
Space warped and compressed around his arm due to the warp effect and when he punched out, the very fabric of space threatened to tear away.
Because of where Exalon was at the moment, hovering in the midst of cannon fire and metal wreckage, it was hard to appreciate or acknowledge the kind of power Exalon was currently exhibiting.
He was literally punching and slapping arkships away. Arkships were planet busters on a normal day and could tear a hole into a moon on a bad day.
Tier 7 lions were meant to be continental, meaning by that logic, Exalon was performing way beyond his supposed capabilities.
This was a result of technique and talent.
No punch that he threw was simple, every slap came with seriously vibrating muscles.
If Exalon used the same blows on the surface of an average planet, he would just end up cracking the planet in half.
And while all this was happening, a group of arkships were positioned at the far back.
They had not joined the others in the charge. Here was a mixture of lion arkships and tiger arkships.
They were guarded by another layer of arkships which had a formation of up to five thousand vessels.
Against the flashing lights, loud explosions, and the multicoloured void backdrop, this group of arkships truly looked ominous.
Inside one of the arkships, the command chamber.
This place was dark and cold, as if there was something deeply wrong with everything that was going on here.
In this command chamber, only two beings existed.
One was a lion that sat quietly on the pillow throne at the center of this command chamber.
The other was a large white tiger sitting comfortably in front of a holographic screen hovering in front of him.
The large white tiger had its wide paws pressed on the metal surface of the ground. His claws constantly came out and retracted, creating crisp metal clings.
"Chen?" Ma’abu, the lion that was sitting on the pillow throne, looked out at the holographic screens and called to the white tiger sitting below.
Chen, the white tiger, stopped tapping his claws, "What?" He asked.
"I’m trying to focus, please," Ma’abu said, keeping his eyes on the holographic screen.
"Seriously?" Chen raised an eyebrow, a deep feeling of irritation welling up inside him.
"Yes, why can’t you stay in your own arkship?" Ma’abu asked.
"I need to keep an eye on you to make sure you don’t bail on us," Chen said as he continued tapping his claws on the metal ground.
The edges of Ma’abu’s lips curved downward and his eyes flashed with a little bit of killing intent.
For someone like him, even if he was thrown into a stormy planet with screaming winds, he would still be able to focus on his thoughts.
The reason he didn’t want Chen tapping was because he was starting to feel incredibly irritated.
If it was the same for Chen, he was running out of patience and everything that came out of Ma’abu’s mouth irritated him.
Naturally, the cause of their irritation was the battle scene being displayed on the holographic screen.
"You need to keep an eye on me? I’m the one who suggested the plan. I thought we built our alliance on trust..." Ma’abu said.
"It’s precisely because you created the plan that we cannot trust.
Need I remind you that we are in the Leonine Heavenly Realm? The same realm that Noel once banished my ancestors from.
You may not feel the pressure, but for us tigers, we are surrounded by enemies on all fronts."
Chen spoke the truth.
"And? Once the others can find out how you guys got in, I’ll be in serious trouble and most of my support will diminish.
But I must make hard decisions for the sake of the race and their future..."
"Yeah yeah, blah blah. We’re trying to kill Primordials okay, nothing more, nothing less.
Don’t try to sugarcoat and justify being responsible for your Primordial’s death.
Don’t act like you’re the only one making sacrifices, because you aren’t." Chen said with disdain.
Ma’abu went silent, his eyes settling on Chen’s lonely back. The wounds where Chen’s wings would have been caught Ma’abu’s eyes.
They had been cleanly torn from his back, Ma’abu could tell. He had ripped the wings of a lot of enemies before and knew what it looked like.
This wingless Air Tiger, Chen, had his own reasons. He too had suffered.
For a few seconds, they did not say anything.
Then finally, Chen could not take it any longer.
He stomped his paw on the ground, creating a deep dent in the shape of his paw.
"HOW ARE THEY STILL FIGHTING BACK?!"
