Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 508: Such Balls...
CHAPTER 508: CHAPTER 508: SUCH BALLS...
"Kael, I am the diversion," Memphis said with full seriousness.
Kael paused and looked up at her with an equal level of seriousness. His eyes met hers.
"Memphis, are you toying with me?" Kael asked.
"I was about to say the same thing," Exalon butted in.
Kael looked at Exalon with a questioning look, "Exalon, she’s trying to fuck with us," he said.
"I call bullshit too, All-King," Exalon nodded with a solemn expression.
Memphis was a bit confused by the interaction between the two of them.
Kael then looked at Memphis again, "Memphis, did we offend you by antagonizing your student?" He asked.
Memphis tilted her head, "I don’t understand."
"You must be here because you wanted to support Ma’abu right? I heard you had a strange personality, but I didn’t expect you to come all this way to lie to us.
If you wanted to fight, you could have just attacked right away instead of putting up all this performance."
Memphis raised her head to glance at the ceiling and sighed. She took some steps back and decided to observe the room they were in subtly.
"What reason do I have to lie to you? What could I possibly gain if I wasted my energy lying to you?" Memphis asked.
Kael shrugged his shoulders, "I don’t know, amusement maybe," He said.
"Then why am I here explaining all these to you when I could be doing the same thing to Ma’abu?" Memphis asked, not expecting a reply.
Kael shrugged again, "Amusement! You’re probably so old and bored that this type of stuff gets you wet and excited..."
Exalon’s eyes widened, he didn’t expect Kael to go from zero to a hundred with this banter that fast.
Memphis paused her steps, her shoulders stiffened, "What?"
Kael nodded, "Yeah, that’s the reason why you’re here. To mess with us so that your student can have a better chance at winning.
Wow, you even came to tell us that Ma’abu has a high chance of succeeding in his goals.
Are we supposed to be fucking scared and call quits?
Fuck you!
You’re forgetting that this is a life and death situation and no one has any fucking leisure to entertain your dry ass pussy.
And then, you’re telling us that history will repeat itself unless there is a diversion?
Okay, cool, what’s the diversion?
Oh, it’s you. How fucking convenient, Memphis!
The audacity to come here and demand that you be treated like some freaking Messiah.
Memphis, I say this with all due respect for your power level.
Fuck you!"
By now, any trace of positivity had disappeared from Kael’s face. He was truly unspeakably annoyed.
This was the first time he was swearing and cursing so much at once. Usually, he would just vent his frustration by bashing her head in, but Memphis was...strong.
Kael kept on asking himself who Memphis actually thought she was.
Was she there when he was born in Eridoria?
Was she there when he had his first defeat from his father?
Was she there when he almost died fighting Darius?
Was she there when Kael had to use his intelligence to weave through the schemes of the likes of Isaiah?
He almost died again when he wanted to acquire that arkship lodge in Eridoria. Memphis wasn’t there at all.
Ibadon had almost devoured him and ended up destroying his home galaxy. Memphis was also not there at that time.
Through all the fuckery the universe was throwing at him, Kael was trying his best to pull through and fix what was broken while forging his own path forward.
And now, this person who calls herself Memphis decided to come and tell him what to do just because she could sniff out the past, or just because she was bored and tired of sitting down?
Kael stood up from his pillow sofa, no longer in the mood to work on the System features.
"Memphis, all the respect I had for you is about to vanish. I don’t care how strong you are, all I care about is survival, power, and conquering.
If you stand in my way because of your student, don’t blame me for doing something you wouldn’t imagine.
If all you intend to do is amuse yourself, wait for me to get my claws on Ma’abu."
Kael’s words were riddled with threats and respect. He spoke in a restrained manner, but also made it clear that he was getting really really annoyed.
For someone who had a high patience level for a lot of things, Kael didn’t really know how to tolerate others trying to take him for a fool.
Exalon stood there, not knowing whether to be frightened or amazed. Kael’s figure seems to enlarge in his mind.
’Such balls...’ Exalon thought, resisting the urge to clap his hands.
Unknowingly, a proud smirk had appeared on Exalon’s face, like the look of a satisfied father.
Memphis narrowed her eyes. She tried to recall when was the last time someone had spoken to her in such a manner.
She remembered, it was about seventy thousand years ago.
That person had ended up living the rest of his life right in front of Memphis and died of old age two minutes after.
Memphis sighed again, then turned around. She assumed that the lion race as a whole was going to experience some serious calamities in the future, Kael was crucial.
"I see there’s no point in telling you these things then. Actions speak louder than words, that’s something you agree to, right?" Memphis said.
Kael nodded, "Indeed,"
Memphis nodded too, "Very well then, for the sake of my peace, I’ll provide some assistance."
Kael raised one eyebrow, "What kind of assistance?" He asked.
"I’ll become your mentor," Memphis said.
Kael smiled, "Seriously? I was expecting something better,"
"Hmm," Memphis didn’t think Kael would mock her offer. Others would jump at the opportunity to become her student. She was a walking history vault after all and could provide a lot of knowledge.
Unfortunately, Kael’s use of such service was very limited at the moment.
"What kind of assistance were you expecting?" Memphis asked.
"Oh, if you really want me to take you seriously, you’d help me kill Ma’abu."
