CHAPTER 540: CHAPTER 540: WHO SET THE TRAP?

The arkship that Kael and his allies were using to traverse the ongoing battlefield was inconspicuous.

It wasn’t one that anyone would be able to recognise immediately. Besides, there were a lot of arkships trying to move fast to get closer to the planet.

The convoy that assembled before and behind Kael’s arkship was also stealthy and easily blended in with all the chaos.

Occasionally, they would throw out powerful energy beams or missiles so that no one would suspect a thing.

And for a brief period of time, no one did.

Kael’s secret entourage made it to the designated star system and began looking around for any familiar faces.

Just as Kael suspected, the dragons and the bees were here. It was no surprise.

But he also saw the arkships with strange designs that he had never seen before.

"The Horses actually came," Memphis said, recognizing the designs.

"I’m probably the only Primordial here," Kael mentioned.

"It’s a shame that Ma’abu, our own, is working against us when he should be working with us," Exalon complained, scraping his jagged claws on the metal ground.

Everyone here was in their lion forms and ready for battle.

"He will be fed to the vultures soon enough, Exalon, be patient," Kael said, as he stepped down from the pillow throne.

What no one here knew was that Kael had an advantage. Unlike the others, he would not be going blind.

He had Jin’s memories to guide him.

"Why haven’t they entered the planet yet?" Gabby asked, his eyes staring at the holographic screen and the many arkships that had surrounded the mysterious planet.

"Restrictions, probably," Nbayé answered with a guess.

Kael stared at the planet being projected on the holographic screen.

It was a really big planet, much bigger than he expected.

But it was also small. It was hard to explain, it was like the size of the planet was constantly changing before his eyes but at the same time it wasn’t.

Everyone could see the weird phenomenon but they didn’t bother asking because they knew that none of them would be able to explain it.

Kael didn’t know why but he felt a strong desire to break someone’s skull just by staring at the curvature of the planet.

Kael could easily tuck this feeling into the back of his mind. However, the others who could feel the same thing were not like Kael.

The sound of claws scraping metal surfaces rang clear in the chamber of command.

These kings wanted blood.

The planet, seemingly the same size, yet constantly changing its width, was shrouded in a thick layer of stormy clouds and lightning.

The main surface of the planet couldn’t be seen at all, the stormy clouds blanketed the whole thing.

"Have they tried blasting it?" Diane asked.

It sounded like the simplest thing to do.

Kael shook his head, Jin would never make it so easy for them.

Coincidentally, one of the dragon officials seems to have been giving an order. His arkship aimed one of its cannons at the planet with a few million kilometres between them.

The energy blast shot forward, lighting up the dark areas of the storms.

Suddenly, the energy blast sank into the storm, disappearing like it had never been shit in the first place.

If it was a normal planet, that beam would have shot at least halfway through the sphere or maybe left some visible signs.

But there was nothing.

*BOOM!*

The stormy clouds suddenly shot thick energy beams, the same that the dragon arkship had shot at it.

It happened too fast, before anyone could react, the dragon arkship was completely destroyed, exploding into countless pieces.

"That’s why," Kael said as he peeled his eyes away from the holographic screen and walked away.

"Prepare for dispatch!" Kael roared at the kings, causing them to stand up and scatter around.

As he pranced through the battle-ready kings, his furry face was masked by a cold contemplative look.

He guessed that magic shuttles would also not be able to get into the planet. Which was why so many factions were still waiting outside.

They were looking to see who would be the first to enter, no wonder they did not fight over the space field surrounding the planet.

Kael looked up to see air lions and fire lions flying over his head, space lions teleporting in and out as they filled their pocket dimensions with supplies.

"Have you identified the one who set the trap?" Nalii asked as she walked beside Kael. Her antlers lit up with power.

She was still tier 4 and was technically not supposed to be coming to this type of operation.

Most of Kael’s consorts were still tier 4 with Alora and Nbayé being at tier 5. Katari was at tier 6 but no one knew about that yet.

Kael was hoping to use this place and a sharpening stone, he sought to increase their power one way or the other.

But he did not bring the rest of his children besides Ozia for obvious reasons.

"He or she will identify themselves soon," Kael said calmly.

Even if someone wanted to ambush him, he was sure that this planet could serve as a layer of defence.

Kael stopped walking when he came to the closed hatch at the side of the chamber. The circular hatch was big enough for titans to fall through so there was not going to be any issue with all of them jumping out at the same time.

But Kael still had another insurance to make sure their descent was uninterpreted.

"The warheads have been emptied out, All-King, we can begin boarding," King Saul came over and said to Kael.

Kael nodded.

At the same time, the eye at the center of his head opened up while he began circulating his spirit energy.

He focused all his spirit powers and warp effect on the illusory figure that represented Jin.

Looking around, Kael saw that everyone was ready. The kings have sharpened their claws and the queens were vigilant.

His consorts were close to him, Katari was closer.

"Go!"
