Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 558: Quiet Resentment
CHAPTER 558: CHAPTER 558: QUIET RESENTMENT
The area around the Massive Black Pyramid was eerily silent.
The entire atmosphere gave the impression of a wounded beast licking its wounds in silence.
The arkships here still orbited the pyramid the same way they had been doing before.
But it was different, the commanders of most of these arkships were not the lion kings, but their proxies, princes left behind to man the vessels while the kings were somewhere else.
The person responsible for gathering so many members from different clans was no more.
Things felt a bit different.
Suddenly, a section of the massive black pyramid opened up and an extra-large arkship flew out.
Most pyramids could only house shuttles and arkships would have to park outside, but the Massive Black Pyramid was big enough for arkships like this one to comfortably fly in and out.
The particular arkship that flew out of the Massive Black Pyramid was extra large, it was one of Exalon’s most prized arkships.
Today, it was used for something different.
All the lion kings who had joined the lion system were currently inside this arkship.
That was why there were no escort arkships.
It was as if the kings were sincerely praying that someone would be stupid enough to attack this apparently lonely arkship.
Currently, the various chamber worlds have different lion kings strolling through them, chatting with themselves, or thinking on their own.
Their calm or happy expressions clouded the deep hatred they felt within.
The killing intent concentrated within this single arkship could literally be tasted. And the taste was absolutely disgusting, it reeked of death and bleaching medicine.
They itched to do something, the kings. All of them had that itch that a businessman felt when things became personal.
Their grievance with Ibadon and the dragons was no longer about survival or the glory of their civilization, it wasn’t about their desire to conquer the universe.
No, what they felt for Ibadon and the dragons was personal. So many lions planning revenge on a single individual, it was unprecedented and significant.
But first, one cannot lead the way if there is dust in their eyes. To make any further movements, the lions must first of all clean their house.
Thoroughly.
Today, they boarded Exalon’s arkship to relish in the memories they had once shared with that big chunk of muscle and wisdom.
As for their destination, it was a place that had been prepared for some time now.
The journey to this place was deliberately slow. Fidel, the one piloting this arkship took his time, barely using warp speed.
No one complained.
When they finally reached their destination, more than two hours had passed. For some, it felt like a year, for others, it felt like a second.
The arkship came upon a floating continent, just like the many others in heaven.
However, this continent had a really wide coliseum sitting at the center.
The coliseum was oval-shaped and was made of strong materials. The earth lions had prepared this place a while ago.
This place would serve as a temporary alleviation for the resentment burning within the hearts of the kings.
This place would serve as the grounds that would determine the lives and deaths of a few individuals in a short while.
The arkship let out a metallic groan as it stopped above the coliseum. Multiple hatches opened under the arkship and thousands of lion kings rushed out.
The lion kings all descended elegantly, all of them were in their humanoid forms.
Today, there were more than fifty thousand lion kings. The number of the Primordial Supporters members had increased in the last three days since Ibadon’s attack and it was still increasing.
However, this was not a cause for anyone to be happy, instead, it filled a lot of the lion kings with irritation.
There were still millions of lion kings who had yet to join. All they were waiting for right now was for this death ceremony to be over so that they could go on a killing spree and bathe in the blood of all those sinners.
Yes, the house had to be cleaned thoroughly.
The humanoid lion kings all settled into their seats, maintaining decorum.
The coliseum was quiet, the stage was wide and empty, awaiting the participants of this trial.
The last humanoids to come down from the arkship were Kael, his consorts, and Fidel.
Kael had his hands placed behind his back as he descended slowly, Fidel was next to him.
Katari was by his other side, visible and wearing her usually indifferent expression on her face.
Alora, Nbayé, Eidel, Ruda, Nalii, Zabita, Priya, Olivia, and Diane were also close.
Chloe was the farthest away from the lot, but not too far that she looked out of place.
Kael noticed this, but as it was now, he couldn’t care less.
Changes were going to be made soon, and hearts were going to be broken. He had meant it when he said he couldn’t tolerate weakness.
No act of self-pity was going to change that in him, especially not now when he was constantly being reminded of the consequences of being weak.
Fine, the memories were nice, but no one was irreplaceable.
Four days ago, Kael had carried all his consorts along to find the Gauntlet, hoping that even if they were not going to be helpful, they would at least be able to gain from the experience and get stronger.
Unfortunately, not only were they not helpful, they almost became a burden. Kael was so busy trying to stay alive that he didn’t even have time to think of their well-being.
Katari was busy dealing with Ma’abu and she wasn’t the type to go out of her way to protect the other consorts when Kael was in danger.
Luckily, they had all survived.
’Useless,’ Kael thought to himself.
"The participants for my consort trial, are they ready?" Kael asked.
"They are still in their preparatory ages, Your Majesty," Katari bowed slightly and responded.
The brief exchange was not heard by anyone else.
No one knew what went on in Kael’s mind right now.
