CHAPTER 569: CHAPTER 569: WHO GETS THE GAUNTLET

"The Gauntlet?" Kael asked. However, he didn’t seem particularly surprised that Ozia had brought this up.

He had expected that someone would eventually talk about it.

Kael had kept the gauntlet with him all this time, he had not yet found a good use for it.

Kael knew that if he was going to use the gauntlet, he would have to sacrifice a part of his body, something Kael was not willing to do right now.

If Kael had found the gauntlet when he was just tier 5, he might have accepted it, after all, he was desperately in need of power.

But now, that was no longer the case. The illusory figure of Silax had given Kael something very valuable.

He had given Kael a clear path toward getting more powerful.

It wasn’t about accumulating the most Conquering Essence; it was never about that. Conquering Essence was just a tool for a Primordial to use.

The true purpose of a Primordial was to embody their law fully.

There was no known Primordial who had done that so Kael did not know what would happen once it was achieved.

But Kael knew that the closer he got to fully embodying the Law of Conquering, the more powerful he would get.

Kael was confident that all he needed was a little bit of time and some inspiration and he would be able to reach the immortal tier, and maybe even higher.

Why would Kael then sacrifice a part of his body just to gain more power that he was sure he would eventually have?

Jin the Purger already had the gauntlet from an early age so he had no need to discard it later in life. But if he had found the gauntlet when he was in the later stages of his life, Jin would not have accepted it.

In a way, one could say that the Gauntlet was a limiter specifically designed to give a Primordial power but halt his growth.

Suspicious.

Kael would not use the gauntlet unless he found another way of maximizing its full potential without experiencing any drawbacks.

From the looks of it, that time may not come anytime soon.

He thought of Exalon, and Kael thought of how Exalon had wielded the gauntlet to fight Ibadon.

Kael was not sure if it was the gauntlet that killed Exalon or the pressure of fighting Ibadon.

If it were the former, then Kael would have to be very careful about who he gave it to.

If not, it would just be a series of deaths after death.

"Yes father," Ozia said, "I was thinking, have you found any use for the gauntlet yet?" He asked.

The wind blew his dreadlocks away as he dived forward with his arms placed beside him.

"No," Kael said, waiting for Ozia to say what he wanted.

"I want it," Ozia said, deciding to be clear and straightforward. He knew that his father didn’t like it when others beat around the bush with what they wanted from him.

"You want the Gauntlet?" Kael asked.

"Yes," Ozia confirmed and looked at his father, trying to read his expression.

"Why?" Kael slowed down as they descended.

Ozia slowed down and made sure to keep up with Kael.

"I want to be strong!" Ozia declared.

Kael nodded, "But you’re already strong. You’re a chimera with three different powers.

You just haven’t had the time to grow yet," Kael said as he landed on a grassy field park in the center of a city.

None of the humans passing by paid any attention to them, it was as if Kael and Ozia did not exist in their vision at all.

"I know, but I’m not strong enough.

I’m aware, Father. I’m aware of what people say behind my back.

I’m arrogant but I don’t have the strength to match it. For the talented son of the All-King, I’m quite weaker than they expect.

I’m just slacking off or I’m depending on you for protection..."

"So you now care about what others say?" Kael raised an eyebrow, "How disappointing."

Ozia’s heart sank to the bottom of his stomach when he heard that. This was the first time Kael ever verbalised his distaste for something Ozia did and it was really demoralising.

Not even Isabel had been able to drain his morale with a single sentence like that.

"No no," Ozia quickly spoke up to clear the confusion, "It’s not that I care about what they say.

But it would be foolish to think they aren’t telling the truth."

"The truth is subjective, Ozia," Kael looked away, starting to lose interest in the conversation.

"Father, the thing is, I need to get stronger fast. If not just for myself, at least, so that I can help you..."

Kael turned to face Ozia, his firm towering over his son. The image of Ozia when he was merely a little bit overlapped with his current adult appearance.

"And how would you help me exactly?" Kael asked, mildly intrigued.

Ozia smiled, "I can be your claw, Father. Just point me in a direction and I’ll destroy it for you.

The Battle Born Coalition is in current need of a leader and..."

"You don’t need the gauntlet to be able to do that, Ozia," Kael interjected.

Ozia sighed, it was looking like Kael had no intention of giving the gauntlet to anyone.

"However, I’ve been thinking of turning the Primordial Supporters Coalition into an elite organisation of loyalist kings.

I’ll need a commander," Kael muttered the last part.

Ozia’s ears perked up, "That commander would have to be exceptional, loyal, extraordinary, he would have to be...

Me!"

Ozia was determined now. Kael had thrown the bait and Ozia was knowingly swallowing everything up with no intention of letting go this time.

How could he, the first son of the All-King, allow another lion to take his position in this power play?

Noel had Aziza, Jin had Uriel, all Primordials had that one second in command that they most likely relied on when they couldn’t trust anyone else.

Technically, Exalon was growing into that position before he died.

Since there was no one else he could turn to, Kael would technically have to look at the next likely candidate.

"Ozia," Kael called, burrowing his golden gaze deep into his son’s brownish eyes.

"Do you think I will spare you if you betray me?" Kael asked.

Ozia shook his head, "No father," He believed firmly in his father’s ruthlessness.

"Good."

Kael then waved his hand and a small portal gate opened up next to them.

Out of the portal, a black arm-length gauntlet slowly cruised into the real world.

The surrounding space and time began to twist and the light from the Daystar seemed to be sucked into the artifact.

On its own, the gauntlet was emitting the aura of a tier 5 equivalent entity. Meaning the minimum power level requirement to be able to use this gauntlet was tier 5.

"You will suffer to gain more strength, are you aware of this too?" Kael asked

"Yes," Ozia nodded.

Kael pushed his palm forward slightly and the gauntlet moved toward Ozia.

Ozia stretched out his hand and received it.

The gauntlet was currently shaped like Exalon’s left arm but it would adjust to Ozia once he started using it.

"Don’t use it here, wait till we get back to heaven," Kael said.

Ozia nodded, feeling gratitude.

The three-powered chimera with the legendary gauntlet and the first son of Kael at that.

What was next?

As if Kael wanted to answer the universe, he waved his hand again.

This time, a separate portal gate to a separate pocket space opened up.

What came out of this one was a heavenly beacon.

Ozia’s eyes widened when he saw it, guessing what Kael was trying to do.

"That’s..." Ozia stammered with the gauntlet still in his hand.

"Yes," Kael put his arms behind his back as the space around him stabilized again. The heavenly beacon coated toward Ozia and directly sank into his chest without his permission.

Kael had just turned Ozia into a lion king without the latter’s permission.

"It would be a waste to keep you as a mere clan member.

You should devote your free time to starting your own clan. I’m sure a lot of lionesses have been waiting for you," Kael said.

Ozia was speechless. He was still thinking of how he would train with the gauntlet or how he would handle questions from others who might oppose and now Kael was giving him a Heavenly Beacon.

The privilege of having a powerful parent, this was it.

Ozia felt a bit of envy for his other siblings who would remain as Kael’s princes. They would continue to enjoy these privileges while he would soon have to start doing a lot of things on his own without the help of the Ol-mytee clan.

"Thank you, Father," Ozia said and bowed.

Kael nodded, a glint of dangerous intelligence flashed through his calculating eyes.

Nothing was without purpose or rhythm, nothing was random.

Ozia suddenly remembered something, "Did you find out where Ma’abu got that anti-lion tail from?"
