CHAPTER 583: CHAPTER 583: RAT WAR

N’bayé looked down from the sky.

Her two eyes lit up with red and blue runs that spun fat within her pupils.

The cries and squeaks of rats reached her ears from below.

A war was happening, she had come just in time.

N’bayé did not interfere with what was happening down there. That was not her priority at the moment.

What she was waiting for now was for Kael to come and see what was happening here for himself.

Then she felt it.

Someone was connecting to her location through the lion system and using her as

Beacon to find this place.

N’bayé stood still in the air.

Soon, a portal began to open in front of her.

N’bayé’s eyes flashed with curiosity.

Before, whenever a heavenly gate was opening, there would usually be a flash of multiple colors as a reflection of the current state of heaven.

However, there was a change at this moment. N’bayé could see that the heavenly gate portal was not as colorful as it used to be, and there were now flashes of gold at the edges.

It was a spectacular sight that caused her blood to boil for some reason. She calmed herself down and focused her thoughts.

Out of the heavenly gate came a tall imposing figure.

Kael hovered out of the portal with his eyes darting everywhere. He had never been to this place and anything could be here to ambush him.

Kael did not hide this action which was a result of his paranoia and N’bayé noticed it.

She was very much aware of Kael’s trust issues and had already expected that he would do something like this.

Kael’s terrifying spirit sense swept out of his body, covering hundreds of kilometers.

Only after he did not notice anything else, did he calm down a little.

"Your Majesty, I’ve scanned the whole place, there’s no threat," Katari appeared and said to Kael.

She had already done a much detailed scan of the whole area and had concluded that there was nothing that could seriously threaten Kael here.

"But I did sense a strange aura in that direction," Katari turned around and pointed toward the east at the horizon.

N’bayé looked at Kael and Katari who had just stepped out of the portal. Katari was wearing a black combat suit as if she were prepared for battle.

"Kael," N’bayé bowed slightly to greet her Pride Leader.

She was wondering if it was only Kael and Katari that had come.

"Did you really come alone?" N’bayé asked.

Katari turned around to focus her eyes on N’bayé. It wasn’t as if she had not seen N’bayé before, she just didn’t register N’bayé as a threat to any of them.

"Yes," Kael nodded, telling the truth, "Don’t worry about it," He said.

Kael flew forward with confidence and Katari followed closely.

For what Kael wanted to do with the Primordials, he would prefer if little knew about it. It was okay if they helped him to find the Primordial, but they didn’t need to be present.

Of course, Kael was not blind to the fact that his safety was very important to everyone.

That was why he had created a failsafe in the lion system.

From now on, as long as Kael felt the slightest bit distressed, Lion Kings would immediately be alerted and they would be able to locate him wherever he was.

The more distress Kael felt, the more wonky the system would start acting and the lions would understand that the only way to get back to their comfortable lives would be to eliminate whatever was causing the All-King so much distress.

This way, no matter where Kael went, even if he was alone, he technically had heavenly bodyguards that would descend to save his life.

Kael didn’t need to worry about anything unless he encountered an Immortal like Ibadon and the chances of that happening were so low that if it happened again, Kael would just assume that someone was intentionally trying to fuck with him cosmically.

Plus, Kael looked into this particular galaxy that they were currently in. It was clean and only had a few civilizations that were intentionally kept at a stagnant level by the lions.

Nothing really significant about this place to draw attention.

Currently, even though some lions and traitors knew that he was searching for Primordials, they wouldn’t know where he was.

"What’s happening?" Kael asked as he heard the commotion happening down below.

"War," N’bayé said as she drew her gaze away from Kael and looked down.

Kael and Katari looked down too. Their eyes pierce the veil of clouds to see what was happening below.

Indeed, as N’bayé had said, war was happening here.

And it was a somewhat funny, but very serious war.

It was a war for freedom.

"This planet is owned by one lion clan," N’bayé began to explain.

"It was used as a launch pad to grow their rat slaves.

At first, I wasn’t planning on focusing solely on finding the rat Primordial.

I had just focused on narrowing down all the strange happenings occurring in the vassal states of the lion clans.

It was hard, I had to do multiple probability calculations down to the very millisecond estimate.

I had to track multiple creature civilizations. I was also making sure to collect news from as many Lion Kings in exchange for favors.

It was after some time that I started narrowing down to the rats because I had noticed some slight discrepancy in the way the rats were behaving towards their masters.

I asked and it was confirmed that many Lion Lords had been noticing that the rats were becoming bolder and more resistant to punishment.

They could take beatings much longer before giving up, their bodies stayed the same but they were now gaining the ability to endure pain for the possibility of autonomy.

If not that I was the one asking about these strange things, the lion lords would just put it at the back of their minds.

I continued narrowing down the discrepancies and located the clan whose vassals were experiencing the most changes.

This clan is the same clan that owns this planet.

It’s a fairly standard clan with a lot of planets under its governance."

The three of them began to descend from the sky.

What was shown before Kael’s eyes was a scene that he had never seen before.

Rats.

Lots and lots of rats.

They were swarming the ground like a sea of fur.

What interested Kael at first was the structures. This civilization was clearly slightly advanced as he could see concrete towards and residential estates.

The shape of their houses was all spherical, different from what humans of the same advancement would prefer or start with.

Kael observed that the state of this little rat city was in ruins. Flames were rising into the sky from different directions.

The smell of blood and burnt flesh filled their noses.

Down below, in the streets and the alleys, large rats fought against each other with brutal ferocity. They used their claws to tear at their kinsmen and gnawed on the flesh of their fallen brethren.

It was chaos. Kael could quickly see that there was a small pattern.

His golden eyes flashed from left to right, noticing that there were clearly two sides to this large-scale conflict that was happening on this Rat World.

One side was smaller in numbers and they fought with precision and skill, as though they had been trained to be warriors.

It didn’t matter whether these rats were superpowered or just ordinary, they had order and discipline beaten into their bones from the way they fought.

Although they had the numbers disadvantage, they didn’t seem to be on the losing side yet. They were able to coordinate with each other to fight against their foes.

These orderly, disciplined, and skilled rats were probably the military arm of their civilization.

The other faction that was fighting against these military rats seemed to be just regular rioting civilians. There was no coordination, no skill, no discipline.

All they had as motivation to fight against these soldier rats was the desire for freedom.

This was just any war. It was a terribly violent revolution.

As Kael watched all this unfold indifferently, N’bayé continued explaining.

"The clan that owned this planet had noticed that the slave tribute they were supposed to get from this planet had suddenly stopped coming through.

The lion lord that was meant to watch over this planet had gone back to heaven and reported that some rats had rebelled and started an insurgency campaign.

Before he could quell it and crush them all, a mysterious rat showed up and beat him away.

Although the idea of a rat being able to beat a lion lord was shocking, it was better than receiving news that the lion lord was killed, if not, this planet would have been destroyed the next day by the king himself.

After the lion lord escaped with his arkship, the planet had been abandoned. The clan has other matters to attend to and left the planet alone for now.

After all, it was just rebels.

Thankfully, I located this place in time and found what we have been looking for all this time.

The source of the current rat revolution of this world.

The Primordial Rat of Freedom.
