Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 587: Another Primordial
CHAPTER 587: CHAPTER 587: ANOTHER PRIMORDIAL
The Primordial Rat exploded into a mist of blood and fleshy paste.
Following that, everything behind the rat was gone, destroyed by the slap.
A whole section of the skyscraper was removed by the slap.
The remaining five Primordial Rats stared in shock. What kind of power was this?
They had not seen Kael at all. But the feedback they got from that clone before it was deleted from existence was that there was a mighty slap that landed on its face.
A slap.
Who had delivered the slap?
No one knew where the slap had come from.
Kael had not moved an inch; he still stood there with that ominous look in his eyes.
N’bayé was also standing there, looking slightly unbothered. Although, a small crease had appeared on her face the moment Louis started insulting Kael.
Even she, as indifferent as she could be, found it hard to maintain apathy in the face of those insults.
Among the three of them, the only one who looked like she had moved a bit was Katari.
For some reason, Louis felt that the space between him and Katari was much smaller than it appeared to be.
She was a few meters away, but his senses told him that she was also beside him.
How was that even possible, what kind of power was that? The Primordial Rat could not imagine it.
He thought he had power, he thought he was special.
But from one attack, the stage was cleared. The superior one was made evident.
"Respect is reciprocal," Kael said.
Five Primordial Rats were remaining now.
Kael wondered, was there an original Primordial Rat or were they all the same person?
From the looks of it, these five Primordial Rats were all the same per linked with the same mind. There was no original or copy, just a multiple of the same thing.
And Kael had confirmed something. The death of one rat doppelganger didn’t mean anything as long as others were still alive.
This raised more questions in Kael’s mind. How many doppelgangers can the Primordial Rat have? Was this cloning ability related strictly to the law of Freedom and could there be more abilities?
Kael wondered how marvelous things he would be able to do with this power.
"Oh, Louis," Kael said, looking a bit sympathetic, "You have no idea just how much danger you are in."
The five Primordial Rats were starting to move away from Kael. Louis knew that this was not an enemy he would be able to fight.
As long as one of these Primordial Rats was alive, Louis would continue living.
"Do you know," Kael turned to look at one of the Primordial Rats, "You are affiliated with the law of Freedom.
Unfortunately for you, the ancient cousins of the lions, a member of the Feline Heritage, are also affiliated with the Law of Freedom.
You, Louis, are a very smart rat. But you are not aware that there have been many Primordial Rats before you from the great era of Ishat.
If your predecessors had succeeded in their endeavor to free the rat race from slavery, you wouldn’t be here right now fighting for the same freedom.
Such is the eternal conflict between you rats and the cats.
You are a direct competitor to the Cat race, Louis. Your very existence threatens their whole civilization.
The cats have been responsible for eliminating all the previous Primordial Rats before you, and now that you are here, they will come for you."
Kael spoke with melancholy as if he was having pity for the whole rat race.
Kael did not tell any lies. He said what was universally true.
The Cats, ancient members of the Feline Heritage, were also affiliated with the Law of Freedom.
Cats and Rats were natural enemies in that case. But the cats had an advantage in the fact that they had powerful cousins for hundreds of millions of years to help them out.
Ishat had doomed the whole rat civilization the moment she encountered her first rat. The Cats however have been the ones maintaining the status quo for so long.
They have been the ones eliminating the Primordial Rats that have been born previously, strategically putting the rat race at the bottom of the universal food chain.
Fine and good, Louis had succeeded in this revolution. If by some miracle, the lion clan lording over this planet had no intention of retaliating and letting Louis wander the cosmos unbound, the Cats would not let him.
They would hunt him down fast and with efficient predatorial supremacy, the rat would not stand a chance.
This was because the Cats knew that they could not afford to allow the Rats to rise to their level.
In a sense, if Kael took this Primordial Rat into the League of Primordials, he would be receiving hostility from the whole cat civilization wherever they were.
That would make it two feline races, including the tigers that would be on Kael’s list of enemies.
Alas, to Kael’s right, one more enemy wouldn’t hurt.
He was already drawing plans for the genocide of multiple races. One more race wiped out from the universe for his perfect vision wouldn’t hurt anyone.
"The Cats?" Louis asked. He was a bit more respectful and reserved now that one of his doppelgangers had been eliminated.
"Yes, your natural enemies.
This King is so benevolent. If I let you into my league of Primordials, I would be making an enemy out of the cats.
Yet, knowing all that, I am still here to give you a chance to do something your predecessors never could.
I am giving you a chance to survive, Louis.
Do not insult my benevolence with rejection.
Do not waste my words.
Do not make me have to wait many more years for another Primordial Rat to be born!"
Suddenly, Kael’s body blurred in and out of existence.
The five pairs of eyes on the heads of the Primordial Rats bulged as they immediately jumped back.
The ground exploded.
N’bayé waved her hand, taking the four elite rats into the embrace of her magic powers and pushing them out of the mess.
Meanwhile, the Freedom Rats were not fast enough. They were fast, but annoyingly slow in front of Kael.
The blurry lines of two golden eyes flashed through the building.
All of a sudden, Kael’s arm was pierced into the body of the closest Primordial Rat.
Another one was split into two by an invisible spatial blade that tore through the whole building.
Kael’s body flashed again, chasing after another rat that was about to jump out of the building.
Almost like he had teleported, Kael appeared just in time to grab the Primordial Rat by the rail just as the latter jumped.
Kael’s eyes glowed with viciousness. He pulled back fast and swung the rat down.
The Primordial Rat’s body collided with the ground, shattering the tiles and concrete and bursting into the lower levels.
The date of this particular doppelganger was unknown as Kael had disappeared to deal with the rest.
Kael’s figure flashed across the whole level. Pillars were shattered and glass exploded.
Within a second, the four bodies of Primordial Rats lay on the ground.
One had a bloody hole in his chest. Another had his head ripped off. One was split into two from the head down.
The last one suffered the same fate as the first, it was blasted into bloody meat paste that splattered across the floor.
Kael’s body was rematerialized in front of Katari and N’bayé.
"Why did you save those elites?" Kael asked as he looked at the sky through the wide opening on the side of the skyscraper.
Out there, he could see the faint outlines of an arkship.
Probably what N’bayé had used to come here after contacting the former lion lord that used to govern this planet, Kael guessed.
If he was not guessing wrong, then the lion lord would be inside that arkship waiting for N’bayé to do her business. After which, he would report to his clan.
Once that was done, a prince would personally descend from heaven to give this planet the hellish makeover it needed.
"Oh, I saw you save them so I assumed you cared about their survival," N’bayé said.
Katari had also thought the same thing.
"Hmm, that was just to provoke the Primordial Rat into having some righteous thoughts.
You don’t need to kill them though, their fates are already sealed along with every inhabitant of this planet.
Kael peeled his eyes away from the sky and looked down.
He had slammed one of the Primordial Rats down the building. Although that was a terrifying attack, the concrete of this was not strong enough to actually harm the Primordial Rat.
"I can sense your will shaking Louis, let’s make this snappy.
Other primordials are waiting for me."
As Kael said that, a golden screen flashed into existence in front of him, showing the current progress.
Another Primordial had been found.
