CHAPTER 118: YELIZ TAKEN AWAY FOR A PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION

That night, in the early morning.

Yvonne sent Mr. King to follow that maid to the Leinster Mansion as planned.

It was about time when the gate of the Leinster Mansion opened and a man stepped out.

"Madame said you couldn’t make the same mistake next time. If you lose things again, you won’t be able to see your husband!"

"Yes, yes, yes..."

That middle-aged woman was already sweating. Her hands trembled as she was talking. As instructed by Yvonne, she put the hidden monitor designed by Shirley on that young maid when they handed over the stuff.

"But... you should tell Madam when you get back that Miss Taylor and Mr. Leinster seem to be getting a little suspicious lately, and she should do the tricks less often."

"I know, I know. It’s because you didn’t do your job well. Go back!"

The young maid cursed, then turned her head and went back inside, without even sensing the camera on her.

Mr. King and a squad of men he led emerged from the shadows.

He took out a device, the screen showed that the maid entered the house and went upstairs, then looked left and right to make sure that no one was there before entering Yeliz’s room.

"Knock, knock, knock."

"Come in."

Yeliz was sitting in front of the mirror with her eyes closed while applying a facial mask.

The young maid said, "Ma’am, the stuff has been handed over."

"Okay."

It was only when Yvonne really saw this scene that she believed that she’s the one behind all of this.

"But... That woman said they seems to have gotten a little suspicious, ma’am, why not stop for a while..."

"Tell her to stick to the original plan for tonight, I’ll have new arrangements in a few days..."

"Bang!"

No sooner had Yeliz finished her words than the door was kicked open!

Both the maid and Yeliz were startled.

They were even more shocked to see the people standing in the doorway.

"You... It’s you guys..."

Yeliz looked incredulously at Yvonne, Zachary and Mr. King at the doorway, but what panicked her the most was the policemen behind them!

"What do you want?"

Yvonne sneered and took out the recording.

"Yeliz, you stole from me earlier to make a fool of me at the auction, and seduced my husband. I’ve put up with all this."

"I thought that now that I’ve moved out, you should stop. But to my surprise, you’ve reached out to Lord Villa!"

Yeliz didn’t expect that someone could betray her.

She bit her lip hard.

"Your previous actions have posed a huge threat to my personal safety, and now, I strongly doubt that my mother’s car accident had something to do with you!"

"You’re lying!"

Yvonne raised her eyebrows, "I’m not lying, you go to the police station to explain for yourself!"

When she finished her words, several righteous policemen stepped forward to take away everyone involved in the case according to the standard procedure.

Two maids immediately complained in distress.

Yeliz looked angrily at Yvonne as she passed by, unwilling to leave.

"Yvonne, how can you?!"

She couldn’t think it through!

Why did Yvonne always have easily what she could not get even by giving up her bottom line?

Why did Zachary not even bother to look at her, yet he was so considerate to Yvonne?

"Why can you have everything?!

"You don’t deserve these at all..."

"Indeed, I don’t really deserve these," Yvonne was wearing high heels. She was just a little girl under twenty, but her experience in the previous life taught her that she couldn’t be weak and coward. She shouldn’t throw a tantrum on her closest and

most beloved ones. Instead, she should protect her most beloved ones. As for these bitches, they deserved to be treated mercilessly.

"I don’t deserve these, but I’m not trying to force anything. Zachary and I, we love each other, so we got together and got married.

"He likes me, not you, it’s that simple!"

...

It was pointless for you to ask your significant other why they did this or that, or how they could do that, or whether they deserved this or that.

If they had feelings for you, they’d be nice to you; if not, they’d be apathetic to you.

It was a natural thing. There was no way to explain it.

Such was the commotion on this side of the house that even Jack Leinster in his study was alarmed and came walking downstairs.

With a crease between his brows, he came with the intention to get the situation back under control, but his face instantly darkened at the sight of the policemen in the house.

This time, the police had got involved.

It was only too obvious that things were no longer under Jack’s control. Though he was unwilling to let Zachary hold anybody accountable, his hands were tied, because the police had intervened.

In the crowd, Jack exchanged a glance with Zachary.

Their eye contact seemed to add considerable tension to the atmosphere.

Jack didn’t utter a word, but the very air about him struck the others as commanding enough. It was as though he were standing in a standoff with Zachary.

He would not allow Zachary to make a big deal out of this.

Yvonne involuntarily knitted her brows and lifted her head to look at Zachary.

"Take her."

Zachary uttered the two words coldly without an instant’s hesitation.

He acted as though Jack’s warning were non-existent!

The police, naturally, would not condone any illegal actions.

Ignoring the intense tension between the Leinsters, the policemen marched the perpetrator away.

Yeliz, handcuffed, called out to Jack, "Help me! I-I didn’t... I swear I’m innocent!"

For the sake of Jack, Yvonne had been going easy on Yeliz all along, but the latter was shameless and going too far.

So this time she decided to go the whole hog.

She thought, "To hell with being a kind-hearted daughter-in-law! To hell with being shy! I was scared to death. I’m so gonna drag this double-faced bitch down with me!"

"You didn’t? I can’t believe you have the nerve to say that!"

Yvonne said with righteous indignation, "I have both evidence and witnesses. Even schoolgirls know they will be punished if they do something wrong, and yet you don’t even have the guts to admit to your mistakes. You really think all your wrong doing will go unpunished because of your special social status?!"

Yvonne was consumed with anger, her tone alarmingly confrontational.

Yeliz was so anxious that tears kept falling down her cheeks, but no matter how hard she begged Zachary trying to justify herself to him, it wasn’t any good. Evidently, on this occasion, Zachary was determined to help Yvonne get justice, which was why he had called the police without even giving Jack a heads-up.

Thus, Yeliz was whisked off under Yvonne’s gaze of sarcasm, Jack’s face sepulchral. *

The next day, Yesmina, after hearing about Yvonne being threatened, immediately came to Lord Villa to see her.

But shortly afterward, Frank Taylor heard about it as well and followed suit.

Frank got out of his black Bentley. At the sight of the five 3s on the showy license plate of the car, Yesmina’s face fell.

She reprimanded Frank right in the presence of Yvonne.

"Frank, you’re not running a company anymore? Or are you thinking of retiring?

"Why do you keep following me around?"

Frank pointedly adjusted his derby and replied leisurely, "What makes you think I’ve been following you around? I’m just here to visit my daughter!"

"You should have picked another time!"

"I didn’t avoid you when you conceived our daughter. Why should I avoid you when visiting her?"

"You!"

Yesmina was beside herself with rage.

After hearing his words, Yvonne felt an urge to give her father a thumbs-up, but she did not dare laugh, fearing that they might start quarreling again.

Yvonne hurriedly changed the topic. "Mom, Sarah Mooney has admitted to having played a part in that car accident you had the other day, but I suspect she’s in cahoots with some outsider.

"Yeliz once went to the prison to visit Zoila, scheming to do me harm at the wedding. Considering her previous actions, I suspect she’s involved in this matter as well."

...

Yesmina was also a short-tempered woman. Because of what Yeliz had done to Yvonne, Yesmina had been ill-disposed towards Yeliz for quite some time.

Yesmina had been meaning to punish Yeliz, but Yvonne had dissuaded her again and again. No matter how evil Yeliz was, she used to be with Jack, so Yvonne had always asked her to go easy on Yeliz.

On this occasion, Yvonne and Yesmina had joined hands and directly called the police, determined to fight to the end.

Yeliz was interrogated for over ten hours. Because of the murder charge, the police was particularly meticulous during the interrogation.

The words got out soon.

The main newspapers had always hungered for gossip about the Leinsters.

The reason why Yvonne and Zachary had called the police was because they were not afraid of going big.

It would be best if they could let everybody come to know about the crimes Yeliz had committed, so that nobody would be able to shield her, and Yvonne would get her revenge.

But that was not what Jack wanted to see happen.

A woman was a woman, and the loss of Yeliz was nothing for him.

Unlike Zachary, he was not a one -woman man, and he certainly wasn’t a faithful marriage partner as Finn’s father was. If he were a one-woman man, he wouldn’t have had scandalous relationships with several women, but he did care about the interests and reputation of the Leinster family very much.

The interrogation lasted 12 hours.

The next day, Yvonne and Zachary arrived at the appointed place.

Apart from them, journalists working for various magazines and newspapers, who had waited outside the door all night, were also present.

They were all waiting for the results of the interrogation of Yeliz, but when the policemen showed up, they were informed that Yeliz had been taken away.

"What?"

Yvonne could not believe her ears.

Yeliz had been brought to a police station, yet someone had still managed to take her away?

What were the odds?

"What the hell is going on?"

"Tell me about it. Has Miss Raven been found innocent, by any chance?

"She got away despite the concrete evidence?

"Is this how the police handle things?"

"May I ask if you concealed anything from the general public in your handling of the case?"

Today’s media was no milk-sop, and the public had discerning eyes.

The couple of policemen wearing blue hats waved their hands. "Take it easy, guys.

You misunderstood us.

"Our handling of the case is fair and strict, and we’ve treated all interested parties equally.

"Miss Raven did not get off as you suspect she did. What happened is some doctors took her away for a psychiatric evaluation this morning.

"We will release the results when they come out.

"Now please stop blocking the door. You’re disrupting the order..."

A psychiatric evaluation?

Yvonne frowned and looked at Zachary. "Isn’t Yeliz a psychologist? Why does she have to undergo a psychiatric evaluation?"

Zachary silently took Yvonne’s hand and then said, "Pay a visit to the Leinster Mansion with me."

*

In the Leinster Mansion.

The word had just got out when Zachary arrived at the Leinster Mansion with Yvonne.

Jack was waiting in the commodious, sumptuously decorated living room as though having foreseen their visit.

Clad in a suit, he was sitting in the middle of the sofa. On the teapot before him reposed three cups of tea. He seemed to have waited for them for quite a while.

She could never get enough vindictive pleasure.

At least until now, Yvonne had no regret about what she had done to Yeliz.

But the air about Jack was so brooding and he was such a secretive man that Yvonne, having calmed down, was still a trifle worried that he might reproach her.

However, right now, he appeared pretty calm.

"Come and sit here, Yvonne."

Yvonne, "..."

She meekly walked over.
