A forced evolution (4th part)

"Mom, may I ask you what that is?"

Eris asked, indicating the shadow basket I had made. I solidified the shadow repeatedly until it could handle the sea of gastric juices without any problems.

"So while you were asleep, I thought of a way to pass this sea, and the conclusion I reached was to simply carry you in a basket tough enough to swim on this sea."

"Then why don’t we simply swim on the basket instead of flying?"

Rose asked, looking at me with a suspicious look in her eyes.

"...Hmm."

"Let us know."

"Alright, we are actually in the intestine of the snack; we will have to move from here to the stomach and finally reach the lungs. From what I know, the left one is the one closer to the heart."

"Understand, but this does not answer the question: why can’t we swim with the basket?"

"In this sea, there may be some monsters; to avoid getting attacked, it would be better if we just flew above it."

"Mom has a point. If we look at how big this place is, we may take too long before reaching the stomach, even if we fly. I’m not sure that we will take less time."

"About that, I can assure you that it will take less time than by swimming."

After they thought about it for a while, Rose was the first one to say something.

"Honestly, I found it a nice idea since we don’t know what kind of threats there are, so it would be great to avoid them when possible."

"I completely agree with you."

"..."

The boy didn’t say anything. Well, anyway, it was not like I would change my plans because of him.

"Alright, then let’s get moving; we don’t have all day!"

I said as I attached spiderwebs all over the basket with Eris and Rose’s help. In no time we were ready to depart.

"You guys better hold on to something tightly; I’m planning to go at full speed from the start."

"Understand!!" x2

"I prepared some place to sit just in case you would like to sit down instead of standing. I will also help you by holding you in your place and preventing anyone from flying away."

After preparing everything and making sure that everyone was safe, I started moving. That was the first time I actually flew at full speed. It didn’t take us even ten minutes since I started flying, and we had already traveled around half of the sea. I thought about continuing, but [Global Wisdom] notified me that Rose and the boy needed some rest before proceeding, so I decided to slow down till they had fully recovered.

"Excuse me, Lady Nyx, because of me you have to slow down."

"It is not a big deal. I should have thought it would affect you in some way. If you need anything, just put your hand in the area around you in this basket since it is connected to my store."

"Thank you for the help, Lady Nyx."

"No problem."

’Anyway, I didn’t expect I would be so fast."

[What do you expect? This is the minimum after fusing so many skills with the agility stat.]

’I wonder how strong i will be if i fuse more skills together at the other stats.’

Before I could notice, all three of them fell asleep.

"It looks like today I will be alone on the night guard again."

[Looks like this.]

After flying for more than eight hours, I was in front of a waterfall, indicating the beginning of the stomach. Instead of weakening the other up, I simply enveloped myself in the shadow, creating a cocoon around me, and started swimming in the gastric juices.

’It seems it will take a long time to reach a place close to the lungs.’

[Yes, it’s better if you rest a little. We don’t know what we will find once there. I will keep the cocoon moving.]

’Alright, i will be counting on you for this as well then.’

"...Om...Mom, wake up."

"Oh, Eris, good morning."

"Morning? You have been sleeping for the past two days! We tried everything to wake you up. What is going on? This long time of sleeping is abnormal even for you."

"What do you mean by that? ... To answer your question, I don’t know; recently I started feeling more tired."

[You see, it’s like with the demons and other monsters; once they reach a certain age or level, they will start feeling constantly tired, and once the time comes, they will fall into a deep slumber that could last days or months or even years, depending on the strength of the individual.]

I told the new information to Eris and Rose to prevent them from worrying if I eventually passed out or didn’t wake up for a very long time. Even though they looked worried, they didn’t say anything.

"Anyway, where are we?"

Rose finally asked me the question.

"We are currently in the stomach, but I don’t know where we are exactly."

[For the past two days I moved the cocoon at a manageable speed, not too fast and not too slow, in around half a day. we will be closer to the lungs.]

’Great!’

"So what do you plan to find in the heart of this snake?"

Rose asked me, attracting everyone’s attention.

"I’m not sure; I hope to find a way out but also something to help me grow stronger. Honestly, I don’t know what to expect to find; there may be the possibility of there being completely nothing."

"In case you find a way out, will you just go?"

Eris asked me with a look full of doubts.

"No, I will be waiting for you to be ready to go. Till then, I will not be moving. This exploration is more to ensure that we do have a way out of this place than effectively going out."

"I see."

While talking with Eris, we started smelling something good. We looked to our side, and we saw Rose cooking something.

"What is this?"

I asked her as I walked closer to check.

"It is a simple meat steak with vegetables... I also prepared her black tea... Her for her."

"Thank you for the tea, and what kind of meat is this one?"

"..."

"...As I was saying, when will it be ready?"

"I will not take much longer; you can go and relax for now while waiting..."

After eating something for the first time in two days, I was full of energy, so I asked if I could slightly increase the speed at which we were traveling, and no one had anything to say against it. Well, I didn’t have to speed up too much since we were already close to the perfect place.

[If you destroy the ceiling above us right now, we will get on the right lung.]

’Really!’

"Guys, we reached our destination for now. I will need your help to destroy the ceiling above us."

Once I finished talking, everyone pointed their hands above their heads, and right out of the cocoon, we prepared a huge ball that we shot to the ceiling, which caused an enormous explosion. Luckily we were completely safe, but we did get pushed back a little there.

"Is everybody alright?"

"Yes, here I’m fine."

"Here as well."

"Also here."

"Good, it looks like the boy also is good since it just talked. Do you maybe need some time to rest?"

"No, there is no need for that; we are alright."

"Okay, once we are in the lung, I will replace the cocoon, and we will proceed by walking."

"Yes." x2

Once out of the cocoon, I looked at the place we were at not long before it was practically full to the brim with gastric juice. After catching our breath, we noticed that the air there was heavy, like way too heavy.

Looking closely, I could see a hallway in the distance. We decided to go there and take a look and to our surprise, it was similar to the hallway that bring to eris palace The difference was that this one was sufficiently illuminated to the point I looked like a recently erected building.

"What is this place?"

Eris asked, completely shocked by what she was seeing.

"I know it may sound like a joke, but we are actually in the snake’s lungs."

I replied after [Global Wisdom] confirmed it to me as well.

"I propose we should take some rest now."

Rose proposed as she prepared to cook something.

"We don’t know what awaits us ahead from this point on, so it would be better to rest now that we can."

"She is right."

I said, Supporting what Rose said, and sat down.

"Especially now with the new problem I have, we don’t know when and how long I will fall asleep."
