Chapter 133: Exploring A Dungeon For The First Time [2]
CHAPTER 133: EXPLORING A DUNGEON FOR THE FIRST TIME [2]
After a few minutes of killing the lava blob, Glutton’s voice rang in my head.
[I think I have found a good place... but there are a few monsters. Take a look.]
I nodded.
’Give me a second.’
I turned my gaze toward Selene and asked:
"Can you help me stay on my feet for a moment? I need to go unconscious for a moment."
Selene’s face turned puzzled, narrowing her eyes and opening her mouth, but before she could ask any question, I continued:
"I want to see something through Glutton’s eyes. Unfortunately, I can’t do this and control my body at the same time yet. I need someone to take care of it."
In another place, I’d have just sat on the ground, but I’d be stupid if I decided to sit on a hot stone with veins of lava moving through it!
"Oh!" Selene nodded in understanding, then she smiled, "I understand. Don’t worry, your body won’t touch the ground."
I smiled back at her then closed my eyes, focusing on the ability that let me share Glutton’s senses.
The next moment, my vision changed, showing a cave made of 3 black trees blended together.
I wasn’t a professional on the plants, but I didn’t think that 3 different trees fusing and forming a perfect cave wasn’t something common.
’How did they even turn into this? Is this natural?’
Glutton shook his head.
[No idea, but why would we complain? Just be grateful that nature is giving us this gift!]
"...."
’Tsk.’
I clicked my tongue inwardly and didn’t continue the matter, focusing on Glutton’s senses instead.
Immediately, I realized that the cave wasn’t empty, so I began to analyse the things on it.
’Three monsters made of stone and lava. They are 3 meters tall and have big bodies, 4 arms and 4 legs, which seem like golems. One of them has more weight than the other 2, which suggests having another core.’
Glutton nodded.
[So one has 2 cores, and the others may have either mana or aura.]
’Okay, stay there for a moment. I’ll come quickly.’
Instantly, my consciousness returned to my body as my vision changed again.
"...."
"Oh, welcome back."
For the second time in my life, I was carried by Selene, but this time like a fucking princess!
From her expression, I could say she was definitely having fun.
I didn’t really mind it — we were close enough to not care about such things — but when you consider that she was much shorter than me, it made it look awkward.
Imagine yourself carried by a little girl and you may understand by embarrassment.
’I wonder if Aria can make something to increase her height.’
Shaking my head, I teleported to stand on my feet. Then I cleared my throat, looking at her and said:
"We found a good place to stay, but we have to fight 3 lava golems. One of them has both mana and aura cores. From the guidebook, they can sense your heat and regenerate their wounds, so be careful and don’t waste any time."
I thought for a moment before adding:
"You are the strongest between us, so I hope you take care of the golem with 2 cores while we fight the other 2."
Selene nodded before extending her hand and opening her fist. Instantly, her great sword appeared, shining slightly like crystallized ice.
I took a black quiver out of my storage, then put 10 arrows into it.
The quiver was an artifact to hold the arrows. Even if I was flying upside down and crashed into something, the arrows won’t even move.
As for the arrows, they were a few artifacts I had made earlier and didn’t sell. They were all Tier-3, so I was planning to use them only in emergencies.
Why don’t I just take the arrows out of my storage?
It was slower than taking them directly from a quiver. I couldn’t afford to waste a single second in a fight. But obviously, I still had some arrows in my storage.
After summoning BlackHail and enhancing my body, I began to cast a spatial gate. After a moment, a gate appeared before us, leading to where Glutton was standing.
"Let’s go."
"Mhm."
As Selene nodded, we stepped into the gate, reaching the other side instantly.
I looked at the ground and found Glutton yawning as if bored of the waiting.
"Kra."
[Yo.]
Glutton flew and returned to my shoulder casually, enhancing his own body and looking with us at the cave.
The entrance of the cave was in the other direction of the cave, causing the golems to be clueless about us for now.
"I’ll taunt them now. Get ready."
A heavy, black, gravity arrow materialized in my hand as I brought it into BlackHail and drew the string.
I enhanced it by gravity, making it heavier, and aimed at a random place.
Immediately, I left the string, causing the arrow to fly away. Before it could go too far, a spatial gate materialized before it and took it into the cave.
*BOOM!*
"GRAAAH!"
A loud roar echoed through the place, coming from the cave, followed by the sounds of heavy steps.
I drew another arrow and warned:
"It’s a Tier-3 monster. The arrow couldn’t kill it even with a direct shot on the head."
As Selene and Glutton nodded, I shot another arrow, aiming at the same golem. It was the golem that had 2 cores, and this time it was an eclipse arrow.
*BOOM!*
As I drew the third arrow, the golems finally came out of the cave and spotted us instantly.
Their bodies were a mix of stones and lava. They had 4 arms and 4 legs, with their heads being the smallest part in their bodies.
Their joints were made of something like obsidian, stopping anyone from treating them as weaknesses, and their heads didn’t contain any holes — not even a mouth — making sure that an arrow wouldn’t reach their brains.
As for their eyes, they had one stone eye on the middle of their heads, but that eye didn’t seem weaker than any other part of their bodies.
After all, one of them was attacked by 2 different arrows in the middle of its eye, yet it only had a hole that didn’t reach its core.
And from how its head was looking in my direction, I could say that it wasn’t bothered by the loss of an eye. It could sense my heat directly.
"Selene, can you—"
"—I know."
Before I could continue, Selene swung her wings, flying directly toward the strongest golem.
’Glutton, take the right one.’
[Yes sir!]
The next moment, I threw an arrow at the golem on the left. At the same time, Glutton launched wind cleaves at the golem on the right.
The golems covered their bodies with thick lava aura, increasing their defense against the attacks, but that was enough to buy Selene some time.
*Bam!*
Using the flat side of her sword, Selene threw the golem away and followed it, leaving the other 2 golems alone.l
’Damn, her physical power is just something else. I wonder if she can be stronger than Zephyr at night.’
"GRAAAH!"
The 2 remaining golems roared in anger, even though they didn’t have mouths.
"Let’s finish this quickly."
As they rushed toward us, Glutton and I rained them with attacks.
Gravity magic, wind magic and arrows. Anything that had some blunt power was used against them, slowly breaking their bodies.
Their defense was superior, but it was nothing if they couldn’t reach us.
Suddenly, one of them took some lava and stones from the ground, pressed them together forming a ball and threw it at me.
I evaded to the side, feeling the heat of the ball that passed beside my head.
"That was close. I should end it quickly."
I launched another arrow that hit its head, then began to channel my aether, mixing it with the space affinity.
The next moment, a black beam emerged from beside the golem, passing through it and reaching the other golem that Glutton was fighting.
After a moment, the beam vanished and revealed the golems, which were in a miserable state.
*Thud!*
The one I was fighting fell on the ground as its legs broke. The golem was much thinner than before and its core was visible.
I teleported before it and pulled its core out of its body before it could heal itself, then its head fell lifeless for the last time.
I looked at the other golem. It was in a far better state than the one I killed but still weaker than before. Glutton could probably kill it alone.
[Hey! Don’t ignore me! I still can’t use this spell!]
I chuckled, ignoring him and looking in Selene’s direction.
She was still fighting the strongest golem, but the ground under them was frozen and the half-frozen golem was on its knees, using its 2 remaining arms and some magic to block her attacks.
After a moment, both of her and Glutton killed their opponents as they gathered their bodies and cores then flew to me.
’Glutton, can you eat them?’
[What? No! But I can take the cores if you don’t need them, hehe.]
’In your dreams.’
*Thud*
Selene landed beside me, folding her wings and showing me the cores she gathered.
I smiled.
"Absorb them as fast as possible, and let’s go to the cave. If my body could sweat I’d have been sweating a river now!"
"Mhm!"
