CHAPTER 41: THIS ACADEMY WILL BE FUN

I sat on the edge of my bed, holding the Entrance form in my hands, eyes locked on the transparent interface glowing before me.

«↓ Name: Mobix Seafrost ↑»

«↓ Title: The New Being, Shadow Master, Thalassic Monarch ↑»

«↓ Affiliation: 1 | Seafrost [+4 Slots available] ↑»

«↓ Rank: Master [Lv. I] ↑»

«↓ Power: Aqua Dominion [Unique] ↑»

I sighed, seeing that my rank had really changed for good.

I was able to become a Master-Ranked mage before the Academy Test. If only there were the possibility of becoming an Ascendant as well.

Overall, the highest-ranked mage ever lived was a Lv. II Ascendant-ranked mage.

It was rumored that my mother lived up to the stage of a Lv. I Ascendant, and for my father, no one knew his rank.

Everyone always says that they just knew him to be so powerful.

’Hmm.’

Even now that I have become Master ranked, I doubt if I would also rapidly evolve in rank like I’ve done before.

Because...

«↓ ...Stats... ↑»

« VIT: 201/300 »

« STA: 272/300 »

« Mana: 300/300 »

« STR: 240/300 »

« AGI: 281/300 »

« INT: 210/300 »

« WIL: 230/300 »

« W-Mas: 295/300 »

« W-Res: 295/300 »

«↓ HSP: 357 [Restricted] ↑»

«↓ TAP: [Locked] Description ↑»

Looking at my stats point, they were remarkable and could be useful if I had to engage in a duel with someone of my age grade.

I could possibly stand against someone higher than me in rank as well, but it won’t be as easy.

Now, it seems I can’t even get stronger quickly to stand against such kind of powerful individuals.

Some changes seemed to have happened again to the stat features.

’Description.’ I tapped on the tab beside the TAP.

« With your second massive level up, the system has been adjusted to help grant you a stable path that can help you go stronger. »

«↓ Total Achievement Points [TAP] ↑»

Your Total Sharing Points feature has evolved to become Total Achievement Points.

TAP will serve as a rewarding star to your achievements.

After each slot of TAP is filled, a level up is accessible.

’But what kind of achievements?’

« Succeed in becoming a Purifier to unlock TAP. »

My eyes widened, almost bulging out after seeing the last message.

I didn’t want to try and be pessimistic, but it only meant that a level up wouldn’t be possible for me anymore if I didn’t make it to being a Purifier.

And my stat points would continue to diminish, is that it?

No... I can still share my Harem member’s ability and increase the points.

Just then, I remembered seeing ’restricted’ beside the Harem Sharing Point.

’HSP’

«↓ HSP: 357 [Restricted] ↑»

You can only use these points to strengthen your Harem teams.

So, that was the only option it was restricted to. The system had suddenly become limited, especially in terms of my growth.

Good enough, I was able to become Master-ranked before this happened.

"Not a big deal then. Since I won’t even hide my powers during this test. I must become a Purifier even if it means I will go all out."

I sighed. Feeling relieved at the same time.

"...Linda," I called quietly. "Do you think I’m ready?"

Then, her voice answered from my shadows.

’Hmm. Since I spectated your last training, I would say you are more than ready, Young Master.’

"Just be straightforward in answering your questions," I said, nonetheless with a smiling face

...

Aeralis Household, Air Duchedom...

"Miriam!" A motherly voice called out, footsteps approaching at the same time.

Miriam heard her name being called, but chose to be reluctant about responding to the voice.

Instead, sprawled on the comfy bed of hers, she stretched herself lazily and rolled twice to rest her back against the wall beside.

Then shrugged.

Bang.

The knock on the door forced her to rise from the bed with all her effort and made to open the door.

The young lady in question scratched her eyes as she stumbled in her steps, flickering her sky-blue eyes. Her cloud-colored hair dancing in wind-swept waves.

"I have to always tolerate this old woman’s yell every early morning," she murmured with a mug face, regretting always being woken from sleep.

Once she reached the door and opened it, an older woman with almost the same features as hers came inside angrily.

"Miriam," the woman called again, this time with less noise.

"Yes, mum."

"Don’t tell me you will also be lazy on the day of the Academy Test, will you?"

Miriam scratched the edges of her eyelids once more, flickered them again and opened her eyes widely.

"What did you just say? It’s today?" she asked, now elated with strange liveliness.

Instead of giving a response, the older woman, who seemed to be her mother, muffled and drew her ears.

"So that’s why you ignored the maidservants when they came to ask that you get prepared," the woman said, drawing the ears as if they were going to be cut out.

Miriam held her hand and, with strong force, pulled them off.

"Stop already. I’m not a baby anymore to be treated in that way," Miriam said angrily, turning her back and crossing her hands across her chest.

Now calm, her mother muttered. "Get prepared immediately, we will leave in thirty minutes," she said and turned to leave.

But Miriam turned just in time and stopped her.

"Wait, mum, I’m sorry for talking to you in that way," she apologized. "But, is it true that the heir of Seafrost is participating too?"

Her mother shrugged and continued her steps.

Before she disappeared out of sight and out through the door, her voice echoed.

"That little boy has vowed to be favored with premature death," she said and vanished.

Miriam frowned her face at her mother’s words without saying anything. Then, walked towards her bathroom by the corner of her room.

...

Terravale Household, Earth Duchedom...

A girl knelt before a grave, her deep blue eyes and bronze hair glowing in the sun. Stuck in the ground before her, close enough to the grave was a sword.

"Brother," she called with a voice as sharp as a blade. "Since your death, I have never waited for someone to advise me to train. I never expected any encouragement and was still able to train without rest."

She extended her two hands and gripped them tightly on the bronze handle of the sword.

"Today, I will fulfill your wish. Allow me to on your behalf," she said, her falling tone rising gradually.

"Today, I will become a Purifier," she said with a loud voice, releasing the sword from where it was stuck. "And small brother is joining as well."

"Double achievement," she muttered with a smile. "Grant us good luck," she concluded and turned away.

Her steps faded into thin air as she walked out of the grave hall.

...

Pyrrath Household, Fire Duchedom...

Maria Pyrrath stared at her daughter, the Lord of the Fire Duchedom.

"Are you ready, Lyra?" She asked her daughter, who was putting on a golden kimono over the white silk dress she wore within.

"If mother doesn’t think I’m ready, then I’m not," Lyra replied, summoning her sword and running her index finger along its surface.

Maria’s eyes twitched, but she remained calm.

"I will take that as a Yes from you," she said, and advanced sharply as if she remembered something.

"I’ve told you the formalities for the test, make sure to fulfill my favor," she whispered.

"Is that weakling really participating?"

"Thanks to that, eliminating a threat will be easier than expected," Maria said joyfully.

"Hmm," Lyra looked at the reflection on her sword, brushing her golden hair with her left hand.

Then, turned to her mother.

"Aren’t you coming with me?" She asked with a concerned look.

"Oh, my my. I would go and get prepared now. Just be sure not to incur this old woman’s rot when we get there."

Lyra remained silent, staring at her mother with her cold, intense eyes.

"I will be ready when you are, mother," she said and went to sit on her bed. "I will just ask Meziko to keep me company before then."

"This Academy will be fun."

...

Similarly, every mage who was able to get their hands on the Purity Academy Entrance form prepared themselves that morning.

In Montana, there were four already known Duchedoms. However, these Duchedoms also had various households that made them up.

For the Earth Duchedom, the Terravale Household held the power and strength.

Although being looked down on, the current Lord of the Duchedom was a devil in a sheep’s clothing. Her true strength was only revealed when she got determined.

The Pyrrath Household succeeded the Fire Duchedom and had always produced heirs for a very long period.

They were rumored to possess strength that is beyond imagination, and their household members were especially exceptional.

Then there was the Aeralis Household, the base and headquarter of the Air Duchedom.

People rumored that the dynasty of the Aeralis Household was gradually coming to an end with the emergence of their current heiress.

Complaints of her laziness spread like wildfire.

Some wished for the immediate death of her mother, who had adopted similar behavior in the past but proved her strength in the long run.

Whatever, the mages of this Duchedom never saw any hope in the heiress, although they always kept that hidden within themselves.

Except for me, Mobix Seafrost of the Water Duchedom, who is popularly known to have grown weak, the people haven’t been able to judge the true strength of the four Elements of Montana.

Their assumptions were only on the surface.

"None of them is to be blamed anyway."

...

The dawn of Purity Academy loomed on the horizon.

Anticipation filled this horizon, patiently awaiting the arrival of the year’s candidates.
