CHAPTER 149: ADAM VS SEO-YUN [1]
Swoosh!
Soaring over the city, my eyes moved from building to building in search of the inn where Prince Ronald was staying the night. I had no information on his exact location, so I was hoping I would feel Seo-Yun’s presence and use that to locate the prince.
However, after flying for nearly twenty minutes, I noticed a figure standing atop a roof with a psychotic smile I could never forget. Seo-Yun waved at me with a proud expression that made me believe she expected me to come looking for them tonight.
SWOOSH!
Without hesitation, I swooped down and gently landed beside her. My wings folded and dug into my body while I turned to meet her flirtatious gaze.
"I’m guessing you couldn’t get me off your mind after that kiss, so you came looking for me to eat me up," she said, her finger playing on her lips while her smile only widened.
A cold shiver ran down my spine. I wondered if fifty years of living as a Gatekeeper had driven her crazy. But I quickly remembered—Gatekeepers are vile souls who have committed unimaginable crimes, so I shouldn’t be surprised that a crazy woman like this made the list.
Regardless, Seo-Yun’s slender face was hard to ignore. Her long eyelashes, complimented by the black paint around her eyes and extravagant black jewelry, all added to her beauty in a weird way.
"I’m here to make a deal with you," I said, and the excitement in her eyes faded almost immediately.
Her gaze turned cold and she narrowed her eyes before asking,
"So you refuse my offer?"
She spoke in an almost threatening tone, but I simply chuckled.
No one threatens this God.
"And I bring another offer. Since you said it doesn’t matter who sits on the throne, stand by me and Crown Princess Serena. Abandon Alisha," I said with a fearless chuckle.
Seo-Yun shook her head and began walking in circles around me.
"I decide who sits on the throne, and you follow my decision, baby. I have my reasons for wanting to put that family on the throne. All I need is your compliance, not your opinion," she said, stopping behind me and sliding her hands down my shoulder, caressing my chest.
This lady must have been the empress of sexual assault. The bitch can’t keep her hands to herself.
I’m sure that’s why she became a Gatekeeper.
"And if I refuse?" I asked, and her hands froze.
She turned to meet my gaze, her eyes filled with sadness.
"I don’t want to kill you, baby. Can you just do as Mommy says?" she whispered before pulling in for a kiss.
Bang!
Seo-Yun was sent skidding backwards, stopping just a few meters away. I gazed at my fist, then at her body, and frowned. I felt like I’d struck a brick wall—and ended up harming myself more than I harmed her.
Her stats must be somewhere over 20 points!
"Kill me?" I chuckled as darkness erupted from my body. "I’d love to see you try."
Seo-Yun’s smile faded, and her brows knitted into a deadly frown.
"Why would you say this?" she hissed like a cat. "Is my love not enough?"
What?
I blinked repeatedly, confused by that statement.
Is she crazy or something?
Pa!
Seo-Yun clasped her hands together and her palms were engulfed in dazzling silver flames.
"GATEKEEPER’S RIGHT: MOONSHADOW JUDGEMENT!"
Instinctively, I took a step back as soon as I felt the chill of her flames. I wasn’t sure what this was, but my instincts told me to run.
’I can’t let that touch me,’ I concluded.
"Who is the bitch that stole your heart and made you turn on me?" Seo-Yun continued her rant. "Is it that Princess? Don’t tell me you chose her over me!"
At this point, I was at a loss. What the hell makes her think I’m fighting for love?
How did love even get into this conversation?
"Are you retarded or something?" I blurted out purely out of curiosity—but that was all the motivation Seo-Yun needed to make the first move.
Bam!
The ground beneath her feet shattered as she shot forward, her burning palm striking at me!
[Wavelength of Madness Activated!]
Buzz!
Dark cracks spread across my eyelids as Seo-Yun’s figure slowed.
Swoosh!
I sidestepped—her palm struck past me—and I swung at her exposed face, determined to shatter her skull in one blow.
Peng!
My eyes narrowed as I noticed a ghastly blue figure shaped like a human. Its form was too vague and translucent to make out facial features, but it had blocked my attack with a sword.
"What?" I muttered, trying to make sense of what I was seeing. But that moment was all Seo-Yun needed.
"MOON MARK!" she roared, her burning palm striking my chest. A fierce silver shockwave exploded out, sending me hurling back like a cannonball.
Gaaaah!
A painful groan escaped my lips. I soared past the building we stood on and crashed onto the roof of another, rolling a few times before springing to my feet.
"Aah..." I groaned, my hand reaching for my chest where I was hit.
The pain was different from what the system usually subjected us to. It felt like my chest was on fire—and breathing became difficult.
"It’s not stopping?" I muttered in shock.
Every wound I had sustained in my Berserk state healed instantly—even getting my belly split open and taking an arrow to the skull.
Yet this one worsened instead of healing.
Curious, I looked down at my chest—my eyes widened at the sight of a glowing silver crescent moon symbol.
[Moon Mark:] Tagged victims receive double damage from all attacks and are exposed to the final Eclipse Attack.
"What?" I gasped and staggered back. "Can I remove it?"
Thud!
My head snapped up as Seo-Yun landed on the roof with a seductive smile. Flanking her sides were four blue floating spirits—one wielding a bow, another a shield, a third a spear, and the last a sword.
They moved around her like planets orbiting a sun.
"You can’t remove it," she said with a low chuckle. "Once caught by my Moon Mark, you’re as good as dead."
Seo-Yun declared boldly, her voice echoing through the night sky.
