Reincarnation in the 60s: My Spatial Supermarket Brings Forth Wealth
Chapter 313: A Villain Meets Their Match
CHAPTER 313: CHAPTER 313: A VILLAIN MEETS THEIR MATCH
Li Xiuying squeezed in and saw the smug expression of her eldest daughter-in-law and the embarrassed look on her own daughter’s face.
She understood immediately. It was Feng Minghua stirring up trouble with her daughter again, really infuriating.
Bai Xianglan initially wanted to say something, but after glancing at Wang Cuihua and seeing her shaking her head, she realized they could only swallow their pride today in such a setting.
Seeing Wang Cuihua nod, the old lady also understood they were all busy, so she waved her hand, "Everyone, stop crowding here. It’s nothing, just that Cuihua didn’t want to trouble us, so she stopped the child’s aunt from helping with the wedding! It’s not a big matter! Let’s go and have some tea and chat together inside!"
Since the elderly lady from Capital City remarked this way, everyone felt it was inappropriate to linger, so they went about their own businesses, some returned home, while others continued to help.
Li Xiuying spotted her eldest son heading out of the crowd, quickly took two steps to catch up and grabbed him.
"Junsheng, are you just going to let your wife cause a fuss? Aren’t you going to do something? I’ll tell you, the day your sister considers you her enemy, you’ll have no one to cry to!"
Li Xiuying rushed up suddenly, Wang Junsheng was just about to turn and leave, but the tug startled him, and upon seeing it was his mom holding him, he took a deep breath.
"Mom, you scared me! What’s up?" Wang Junsheng lowered his voice, fearing the nearby people still heard and turned back to look.
Li Xiuying repeated what she had just said to Wang Junsheng, exasperated.
"Mom, you know I can’t control that woman! If I could, would I have watched Xiao Xue and done nothing back then? It’s been years, haven’t you realized? If I were too harsh, the family would split, what would happen to the kids?" Wang Junsheng replied with a defeated expression.
That year during New Year, he had yelled and hit, but it was useless! The fussing didn’t stop, and being too harsh could tear the family apart, while he still had the kids. What else could he do?
"That’s all I will say! As a mother, of course, I want all my children to have a good life. Now that your sister is doing well, I also wish she could help out her brothers, but with your wife causing a scene at Xiao Xue’s wedding, do you think your sister would remember any good about you? When your other two brothers are doing well and only you are still toiling in the fields, don’t say Mom didn’t warn you!" Finished speaking, an angry Li Xiuying turned on her heels and walked off.
Her eldest son wasn’t inherently bad, but his wife Feng Minghua was trouble, and over the years, this wife of his led him into losing sense within and outside the household.
Allowing her to make a fuss on such a significant occasion today, with no strength as a man, she wasn’t stirring up marital discord; it was just that Feng Minghua was over the line and needed some discipline.
Wang Junsheng stood stunned for a moment after hearing what his mom said, then slow to react, realizing her point. If Minghua quit the fussing, it was still possible for his sister to help out her family. He knew how capable his sister had become.
Looking at this big courtyard, these brick and tile buildings, and the house in town, never mind toiling in the fields, he would love to toil for life if he could have this big courtyard.
Thinking about these blessings made his expression unavoidably beam as he looked at Feng Minghua’s smug face, anger welled up.
He stormed forward, grabbed her arm tightly, and pulled her out, "You shrew! Today of all days, do you know you’re causing a fuss? Get home now, and watch how I deal with you!"
Amidst a string of curses, he dragged her out. As he dragged, he scolded and smacked, leaving Feng Minghua momentarily stunned, but then she came around and started a tussle with him.
Like this, they traveled back home all the way, cursing, beating, and squabbling, leading to another unpleasant family day.
The three children only later found out their parents had started fighting. The eldest led the two younger siblings and ran home, munching on chicken legs as they ran.
Luckily, he acted quickly at lunch, tearing two chicken legs off earlier and stuffing them into his coat pocket.
His brother saw this and tried to snatch it, but there was no way he could beat the elder brother in a scramble. The three of them never stayed quiet all the way back, only to find that their parents had already stopped arguing when they got home, and were even in good spirits preparing dinner for them.
Of course, despite the loud quarrel earlier, Feng Minghua didn’t forget to take the leftovers she had snatched away.
She didn’t just take the leftovers; she’d taken some cooked rice and large buns too. Wang Junsheng saw that his wife was still caring for the household and so he told her all his mom had said.
Feng Minghua laughed it off, not even letting the earlier public beating by Wang Junsheng bother her, and the two discussed the issue, becoming increasingly excited and happier as they talked.
And then it turned into the scene that the three kids saw when they returned home.
As for Lin Xue, after seeing off the village folks, they were left with guests from farther away who couldn’t return home the same day.
The three aunts had brought their husbands along, unable to go back, leaving only the second uncle and third uncle’s families not returned yet. One more person, who’d already visited several times today, was Gangzi’s wife, Wang Xiaoping.
However, she was related by blood nonetheless, and while the villagers returned home, she found excuses and managed to bring home three rounds of things.
There were leftovers, cooked rice and buns, and even some white liquor, which she found half a bottle of under a table, immediately hiding it within her bosom and sneaked it out. This happened while she was helping wash dishes, only returning after finishing the job.
But she wasn’t needed as it was, there were plenty of others helping, they didn’t lack for hands, not needing her to create a scene.
"Uncle Wang, tired?" Evening was near, and it was time for dinner, so Lin Xue went to Uncle Wang’s resting room.
Fortunately, with many rooms, Uncle Wang said he would leave after tomorrow morning’s breakfast, avoiding causing trouble while the family was busy cooking.
However, his guys were sent back; there were plenty of young ladies to help chop vegetables, wash dishes, serve dishes, and pour water, more than enough, so they were sent home due to limited accommodations available.
"Ah...Xiao Xue, not tired, not tired at all, I’ve rested and was just about to head out!" Uncle Wang hurriedly got up, almost calling her miss. Even though he now understood Lin Xue’s previous living conditions, capability isn’t determined by birth, and having discussed future plans with her, he was just waiting for her command to lead his men to the Capital City.
"Uncle Wang, there are more than twenty, nearly thirty people needing dinner, a bit of hard work for you! My mom said I shouldn’t be working today..." Lin Xue was slightly embarrassed, after all, she was now married today, which was enough reason for shyness." But... I’ve arranged several assistants for you!" Lin Xue giggled.
"How is that any trouble? I stayed just to cook today’s food; it’s your big day, no chance to work for you! Rest assured, leave it to Uncle Wang!"
Uncle Wang wasn’t actually that old, just a few years older than Lin Daliang.
Speaking of Lin Daliang, he was again ecstatic today and drank heavily, though after getting drunk this time he wasn’t asleep, but kept holding Bai Xiaomei’s hand, grinning foolishly and saying things like he was happy for her, how wonderful it was, and other similar praises.
