Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master
Chapter 1311: Mark
CHAPTER 1311: MARK
William didn’t know that the main reason behind the delay in his guild masters’ arrival was thanks to his bad reputation as a trouble magnet. The girls were convinced he wanted those masters to fight a new enemy or stop a disaster or something.
If he heard them saying this, he’d laugh to his heart content. And yet he didn’t even notice the delay at all. He was totally absorbed in laying down the formations, thinking if two layers were good enough or he’d need to lay down more.
The fortification he made in the underground city was to contain the explosion, but the fortifications he planned to do here were to protect this area from the aftermath of the explosion.
He didn’t believe the formations he laid at the city would be enough to stop the explosion. That was why he considered adding more layers of defence here.
"Screw it, I’ll lay down triple layers then," as he fell in confusion and couldn’t make a decision, he decided to overdo it, just in case. After all, he got enough time to do that.
Starting from this, he began working hard. And when his guild masters were here, he just finished laying down triple formations covering up an entire mile square!
"It looks safer this way," as he landed to the ground to meet the masters, he scanned the formations he just built and felt pleased with it, "I may have overdone it, but being safe is better than being sorry... Now, it’s time to teach you a few formations..."
William started teaching these masters the same way he taught others in the city. As he did it before, it didn’t take longer than twenty minutes for everyone to grasp what they would do.
"... I’ll need you to lay down three layers of formations, arranged in such a way..." William finished his lecture by drawing a final sketch that other masters copied, "... Then you’ll put the materials here, here, and there, then it’s done!" He concluded the talk by saying, "any questions?"
"..." his guild masters looked at each other without daring to speak a word. Many of them fought alongside him in a few battles before, and most didn’t have such privilege. Yet everyone in the guild knew about this simple and yet crucial fact; never question the boss!
"Alright..." William really wanted to see if they got any questions or didn’t grasp any point of what he just mentioned, "I’ll keep an eye over you all, will give pointers if needed... Now these are the rings with materials you’ll need..."
He threw many rings to different groups before explaining the materials and the use of every ring for what formation, "let’s go, we’ll need to cover everything here before the bomb explodes..."
"One question, sir!" Just before he’d jump back to the ceiling, a young master, eighteen years old, stepped up as he raised his hand. When everyone gave that master a scolding and blaming look, and few gave him a look full of empathy, that master couldn’t help but pause in his tracks, not saying a single word extra.
"What do you want to ask about?" William noticed the tension in the air, "spill it out, don’t be afraid, I don’t bite!"
"I wanted to ask about the areas under enemy control... I mean... We’ve been trying to get through there since the start of this war but... We didn’t... Cough!"
The young master wanted to say they failed in their attempts so far, but one of his friends hit his back to interrupt him in his words, forcing him to cough and stop talking.
"I get what you want to say... What’s your name again?" William felt this young master had a good foresight and analysis of the situation here.
"I’m Mark, sir!" The young master gave his friend a blaming look before replying to William.
"Ok Mark, you belong to Berry’s faction, that means you came from the old academy I came from, right?"
"No sir, I’m from Lara’s city, but..."
"No time for chitchat," William waved his hand, interrupting the young master and giving him a heart attack, "you go and do your thing, and after this war is over, come with Berry to meet me."
"Thanks sir..."
"Don’t think I’m going to reward you," William turned into his monstrous form, giving more awe and inspiring little fear into the spirits of everyone, "I’m going to test you first, see if you are worthy or not..."
"Worthy? Worthy of what?!" Mark watched William ascend to the ceiling and start working while he muttered in a low voice, feeling a little excited.
"Silly boy," William could hear what that master said, but he didn’t comment back or say anything further. In his intention, William wanted to add more fresh blood to his closest group. Events like this war were great times to scout for such talents and add more to his side.
"I just hope he’ll have a good spirit... Also, I may ask others to look for suitable talents for me... Even that old man might help..."
William realised he missed this point in the middle of everything happening in this war. He wasn’t the one to be blamed for this, as the development of this war far exceeded his wildest imagination!
He sent messages and instructions to his friends, then to Fang and Sloth, asking them to scout for any good talent that appeared in this war to join his highest guild master ranks.
Of course Sloth didn’t like what he heard from William, kept muttering and complaining about it for a while. "Who does he think himself to order me around? Does he think I’ll find a gem and give it to him? Humph! I’d rather bring all the gems home to serve my king and kingdom, better than serving such a greedy little monster!"
Fang didn’t find it weird to do as William asked. After all he was part of the guild, and he wanted to help William and make the guild stronger.
