Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master
Chapter 1313: The Enemy's Scheme
"The underground city is secured," William turned to watch the portal and the enemy masters, "and most of the place here is fortified as well. All we lack is just the area those bastards are defending like crazy!"
"Defending?!" Fang looked at Sloth, and the latter barely controlled his rage towards William.
"They aren't defending anything; they are just getting crushed by our forces…"
"If so, then why didn't we take them down yet?" William interrupted Sloth, yet his voice was deep, and his words were slow, as he was lost in his thoughts.
"Well… We didn't use all of our forces against them yet," Fang said these words to express what he thought, but whenever he looked at the past few hours of fighting from William's point of view, he felt some doubt in his spirit.
"Don't you think they are acting weird?" William turned to the old masters, looking at Fang, Sloth, and others, "it's like they are defending the portal… Not wanting to kill us, not wanting to push the frontline forward!"
"..."
When William said it this way, stressing over this point, other masters started to see the weird pattern they missed. William saw the situation from high above clearly and could tell the enemies were holding back most of their strength!
He even saw lots of masters resting behind the portal, not appearing clearly to anyone looking from far. And for those using their spirit sense, they wouldn't bother to look this far behind the portal as it was far away from the fighting spots.
William could tell the enemy had the chance to push the frontline backwards, even creating many problems, yet they chose not to.
"Don't tell me…" William's eyes flashed when he jumped to a conclusion.
"What? What do you think of?!" When William returned to silence again and didn't say anything else after, Sloth couldn't help himself and asked in anticipation and impatience.
"These masters… They knew either the proper way to defend against the bomb, or they were just trying to keep us busy to not think of a way…"
"They read through your plans whenever we couldn't? That's impossible!" Fang muttered, while Sloth nodded from the side.
"I don't like you much, but I can't deny it, you are so hard to read, kiddo! I'd say they are trying to keep us busy, not giving us time to think of a proper way to deal with the bomb…"
William looked at these two old masters and the ones standing around them without saying a word. He wanted to tell them they were wrong, and the reason these masters could read through him was because his knowledge about the bomb and how to counter it came from the outer world!
If there was anyone able to read through William's plans, then it'd be those from the higher realm! On top of that, William was sure the enemy leaders on the other end of this portal fully knew everything about that bomb, its benefits, and how to defend against it.
It meant they might have read through his intentions of using the bomb and turning the underground city into a haven!
To do so it was easy to deduct his next steps. To stop him in track, they just needed to stand on guard for the portal and the area closest to it, not taking many risks when they knew William would come for them later on.
"And with that portal being protected by them, they can leave when the bomb starts to explode…" William muttered to himself while the entire scheme of his enemies appeared in his mind, "brilliant move actually, but… It's not enough to stop me!"
Sloth and Fang kept their silence while exchanging looks. They heard what William said like other masters around them, and yet no one managed to grasp what William was thinking of. And that wasn't their fault.
William was fighting a war with an advanced mindset, something the masters of this world couldn't grasp. And that was the main reason no one suspected anything till William said it.
"We need to take over the portal area," William knew the only way to stop this scheme was by taking control over the portal area, "they'll fight hard to stop us, and they have lots of well rested masters waiting behind the portal."
"What?!!" Sloth, Fang, and other masters instantly expanded their spirit sense to cover the areas behind the portal. Whenever they spotted the resting masters there, even some dared to sleep and take a nap, and they instantly felt enraged!
"We've been outplayed by them!" Sloth gritted his teeth, "let's go, let's show those bastards the price of messing with us!"
"Wait a minute!" Before any master would take a step forward, William intervened and stopped them, "we need first to plan this out, or else…"
"Or else what? Are you implying they can kill us?!!" Sloth got more furious when he heard what William said, "step aside, we'll kill them in one full swoop!"
"That's out of option," William shrugged, "if you look closer, you'll find many dipped spots in the area behind the portal… It means one thing…"
"They laid down lots of traps and offensive formations out there!" Fang was the one to grasp what William meant first, "then…"
"We need to fight their scheme with ours," William evilly grinned, "we'll need to prepare our formations as well."
He didn't need to say more for the old masters to get what he intended to do. "What do you need from us?" Sloth asked, speaking for everyone standing on his side.
"I say those behind the portal rested long enough… Let's make some noise and get them busy, shall we?"
William didn't stop here and started to explain his plan to Fang and Sloth. What he wanted to do was simple, they needed to form teams from masters who didn't yet join the fray or went to rest behind the frontlines. Then they'd attack the portal area from different directions and keep pushing as far as they could go.
