Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master
Chapter 1319: Alfred
The backlash alone would be enough to cripple any master for a long time; many even would end up being crippled for the rest of their lives!
Taking such a risk was no better than death for many masters, especially the strongest of them. Yet this new enemy didn't hesitate to use his spirit body, and William knew why!
"These dirty tricks won't work on me, Alfred," William snorted, before raising both fists in the air, "come and try me if you dare!"
"Humph, we'll need to work on your attitude once I'm done with you," Alfred roared, and his body finished changing. A large centipede body appeared in front of William, in front of everyone here. It towered to reach the ceiling of this place. "Let's see how you'll stop me, the deadly centipede of the world!"
William saw that familiar sight, one that brought back lots of memories. He and Alfred had a very complicated past, one in which they were once close friends, ending up getting betrayed by his friend, and realising the true face of him.
Alfred wasn't a friend, but a spy! He was sent to infiltrate their group and relay the news to the dark master forces in the world. William even considered the possibility of him working for the damned fox, a suspicion that he never managed to get the bottom of.
*Roar!*
As he watched his old friend and enemy turn into this, William calmly stood in his place. In fact, he wasn't even worried or distressed. He knew what Alfred was up to, he knew how to stop him.
"Die!" Alfred roared as his body flashed brightly in green light. The next moment he vanished, and everyone watching this imagined the worst.
*Boom!*
"Why are you in such a hurry to leave?!" William's voice came, not from the thick cloud of dust that appeared around the spot he was standing at, but from a faraway spot from that!
Everyone looked at the direction of the voice, to see something bizarre! William stood there, in his human form, while holding no weapon. Instead, his hand pierced through a green ball, while holding a master from the neck, holding him high from the ground, and that master's body was twitching and jerking, as if he was suffocated!
"What the hell is going on?!!!" Sloth couldn't help but take a closer look, one at the spot that was filled with dust, where William was supposed to stand at, and the spot William appeared at, "how come there are two of that master? Isn't that his spirit body?!!"
"Don't ask me," Fang shrugged in a helpless way, "I lost any hope to understand anything happening around that kid a long time ago!"
Sloth and Fang weren't the only ones feeling this confused. Actually, everyone watching William and Alfred fight felt the same, even the enemies who came from the outer world felt the same!
What really caused such confusion and doubt was the appearance of the centipede, Alfred's spirit body, right at the dust cloud surrounding the place William was supposed to be at!
Yet when William appeared far from there, he was holding the human body of Alfred. And that meant there were two Alfreds, or there was something else going on that no one knew, except William!
"How… How did you know…" The weak voice of Alfred came, to put an end to all these doubts. Alfred was already in the hand of William, and that centipede body started to slowly fade away and vanish!
"You aren't a centipede master, you are an illusion master," William calmly said, "as for this annoying ball of yours, it can stop all attacks, be it close ranged or long distanced, which makes it a pain in the as*. Yet it has one single weakness, and… I happened to know of that weakness, hahahaha!"
William didn't say the weakness he knew about the Green Misty Bubble.
The single weak point of the Green Misty Bubble was that it couldn't stop anything that didn't hold hostile intentions towards the user. It might seem like a very tricky and impossible to achieve condition in the middle of any battle. But as William had previous experience in dealing with it, he knew how to do this trick right.
He needed to not use or hold any single weapon on his body! He also needed to cancel his spirit body. Clearing his spirit from his killing thrust was impossible, and even if he did it, he wouldn't be able to pull that feat!
The ball was an item that could sniff other items around. So, it made sense that the way to crack it open was by not holding any item that could threaten the master's life. And that was what William exactly did!
"You…"
"Hush, you spoke for a long time already, now it's time for you to shut up!" William considered the thought of keeping this dark master under his control, squeezing any information out of him. But he knew this wasn't going to work.
He once captured Alfred before and tried by all means possible to interrogate him. In the end, Alfred got a deadly backlash, ending up exploding and taking down lots of good masters and a large area down with him.
It was a limiting seal that William didn't know a single clue about even till today. So he wouldn't risk anything, and without entertaining his enemy any further, he snapped the neck and got rid of such deadly foe this early on.
"I don't know if I should be happy or mourn your loss, my old friend," William sighed, before giving a last look over Alfred's lifeless body, "yet I can't shake this feeling off… It's as if the world is trying to help me, sending lots of my future enemies early on to get rid of them before they grow up and become a nuisance!"
William didn't dwell for long over this point. He wasn't complaining at all.
