From the first moment William learnt about the Mystic Arts existence, and he couldn't help but think about one big question, where were they in his past life? Why didn't they help him, help his comrades, help his master in their war against the Fox monster?

The fact that this strong and influential group of masters kept their identity and existence hidden from him was a huge question for him. He wasn't sure if his master was aware of their existence or not, and if she knew then why didn't she ask for their help?

The only possible answer to all this dilemma was one; the Fox got them first! Or else they wouldn't be this silent and absent from all the big clashes that happened between his side and that monster.

"Ok, this emblem is authentic without doubt," the lady threw the emblem back to William, "but let me get this straight for you, even if we are both cardinals, we aren't on the same footing here…"

"Hey hey, you are in my world, standing on my territory, and you dare to say that? What a courage you do have here!" William interrupted her with a snort, "if you want a proper lesson to kick some sense into your spirit, then let me do it for you!"

"Stand back!" the lady retreated with an anxious look on her face. She was carried out for a moment there when she knew the two belonged to the same force. But William's strict words poured a bucket of cold water over her head, awaking her from her daydreams.

She wasn't in the higher realm; she was in William's world. And that simple fact didn't escape William when setting a proper way to deal with her. "From now on, I'm like a grand cardinal to you. And believe me, the two of us will have a long talk later on."

"Who told you I will stick around?" the lady showed a mischievous and playful expression on her face, "you don't have time to keep a close eye on me, especially with all those ticking tocking things back there," she motioned with her head, towards the bombs.

"Believe me, if I have to choose between you and the portal, I'll definitely pick you," William honestly expressed what he was thinking about. To him, keeping this portal was a must, but it wasn't the only portal in this world.

There were still few others out there, one he could access by winning the grand tournament in the future. As for her, she was one of a kind! Her importance far exceeded anything else!

Hearing him say such bold words without flinching took her by surprise! She froze in her place for a few seconds, before she started to slowly nod.

"If I get it right, then it seems you are very anxious about getting to know someone from the upper realm, someone like myself," she started to think out loud, kicking away any playful act she might have put before, returning to her old serious self, "and that means you need something from us, perhaps even so desperate to do anything to get it…"

"Easy there, don't push your luck this far," William felt a little nervous as she started to get closer to what he really wanted from her.

"Don't take me for a fool, kiddo," she crossed her arms, "I can even dare you to try and kill me, hahaha, I dare you to do it right away!"

She kept jumping from one wild conclusion to another, in a fashion that told William a lot about how strong and capable she was. She was right on the spot, but William didn't like someone to twist his arm, not in such a way.

"It seems you are the one stretching out your luck here," William suddenly changed, to show his spirit form. He didn't stop there, took out lots of his weapons, four he held with his tails, others he let them fly around, humming in a muffled tone, as if they were hungry beasts waiting to lunge on their prey!

"Any last words?" He was dead serious in what he said. Even if she was so valuable to him, he wouldn't let such a dangerous person think they could manipulate him!

It was true this was the first time for him to meet someone of her calibre, someone from the Mystic Arts society from the higher realm. And yet, he knew he would meet more of them!

Meeting her in this way made him realise those masters weren't rare to come across. In fact, they might be infiltrating every single big dark master force up there.

"If you kill me, you'll lose any source of information you hoped for!" She felt the sincerity he had in his actions. If she tried to control him, she realised she might have pressed him so fast, and she might pay a hefty price thanks to that tiny miscalculation and misjudgment from her side!

"I don't need to worry about that, you already gave me inspiration about the right way to find your people," William muttered in low tone, while a muffled roar came out next, one he intentionally made.

"Aha, I think I know what you are talking about. Still, it'll be so difficult and challenging to find people like me even when…"

"I'm still a cardinal in my world," William knew she was so smart to grasp the general idea he had in mind, and so he threw in something he just made up right at the spot, "I'll make sure the grand cardinal will prepare proper ways with your people when I climb up there. Which reminds me, if I let you live, and you went back and said mean things about me, then it'll cause me much trouble, right?"

William wasn't speaking idly, he kept taking one step after another, getting closer to her while she tried her best to retreat. When he changed to his spirit body, she thought he was just trying to intimidate her. Yet when he continued in his act, she realised it wasn't an act anymore, and he was dead serious about taking her life.
