Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master
Chapter 1327: Intense Discussion
When William said his last piece, she was dead positive he would kill her, without any hesitation!
"Wait, wait, wait… Just wait!" as she took his threats as a fact, her body started to shiver on its own. She saw how scarily strong this young master was, even the strongest masters on Lingerie's side couldn't do anything about him! Even Chimeras couldn't!
She knew if William attacked, she would be powerless to stop him. She tried buying precious seconds, giving her mind the chance to go through all this and find a way out.
"If you think you can get yourself out from this with sweet talk, then you are mistaken," William roared, while he started to dash around, leaving behind afterimages, "either you submit totally to me, or you die!"
Watching him start his deadly signature move drove cold sweat on her back. She couldn't help but raise both hands in the air, fall on her knees, and announce her total and unconditional surrender, "I'll do anything you want and ask for, my lord!"
"I don't want you to do anything for me," William interrupted his moves, standing a few metres away from her, "I want answers, information about your forces up there, and doubts I need you to clarify!"
"Doubts?" Her tone carried the old playful taste, yet with a glaring look from William, she had to drop using that method with him, "sorry, used to live in the palace for the past ten years, so…"
"Ten years? Interesting," William put away his weapons, but he didn't cancel his spirit body, "before we go to deal with the bombs together, I want you to take a good look at my body!"
"Your body? Didn't you say you don't want me to do anything for you?!" She raised an eyebrow, totally mistaking what William wanted.
"Not that type of look at my body!!" William was speechless for a few seconds, before adding, "I want you to see if you saw something like that in a monster…"
"Oh, you want to upgrade your elements? Looking for a specific monster to kill? Is it that hard to find in this world?!" and yet she got William totally wrong for the second time in a row!
"A fox," William couldn't help but spit it out bluntly like that, "a damn fox with nine bloody tails!"
"You…" When he said it like this, she finally realised what he was referring to. Her body stiffened, and William could see specks of sweat coming over her face out of fear. Actually, it wasn't just on her face, it was her entire body that got soaked in a cold sweat, "we… We never mention that name, never!"
"I don't fear it!" William scoffed, "in fact, my whole purpose in life is to find and kill that bastard!"
"You have a death wish! You must have lost your damn mind!" Without waiting for him, she started to walk away, as if William was plagued and she would end up catching the disaster.
"Stay away from me," and when William dashed and appeared in front of her, she couldn't help but shout in panic, "you seek death, and death will be the only thing you'll get!"
"I never took the Mystic Art masters to be this coward," William was truly shocked by her behaviour. He thought she was playing with him again, yet she was really trying to run away!
"You don't know him, you never fought against him, you'll never get…"
"Get what? The terror? Despair? I can say I'm more qualified than you, than anyone else to say such things about that bastard!" William interrupted her shaken words with a very strong tone from him, "I know, I get how scared any master can be when facing that behemoth. And yet, someone has to do it! Someone has to be this courageous, wield his spirit over his shoulders, and go and kill that son of btch!"
"..." His words were heavy, and yet he kept saying them with such ease. She looked closely at him. The first thing she felt was, "you are delusional! You are speaking of death as if you met it before!"
She scoffed, in a bitter way that told William there was a story, a bloody story, behind such a terrified attitude of hers, "let me tell you something, if you ever met that monster, you'll know there is no other monster in the world but him! You won't even survive to tell the tale! Let me tell you something else, he once landed over one of our bases, killed everyone, including half of our cardinals and the grand cardinal himself!"
"..." William listened, not out of surprise, but out of attention. He already guessed the same fate she was speaking about, guessed that the Mystic Arts masters in the upper realm got attacked and slaughtered long before he and his masters started their attack on that fox.
And here he got his first affirmation of his theory. "When did that happen exactly?" William wanted to learn more about what happened.
"Not long ago," the lady took a deep breath, and from the faint and continuous tremors her body had, William could tell something extra, something she didn't say directly.
"You… You were there, weren't you?" William's eyes shone brightly when he jumped to such a conclusion. When he said these words, the lady's body trembled fiercely, as if she saw a ghost or something.
"I told you, you know absolutely nothing about what you are talking about!" The lady seemed to find some strength in the middle of her fear, looking at William in defying eyes, "if not for the sacrifice of many, I wouldn't have escaped that day! Since then, I'm on the run, fearing for my life all the time!"
William could grasp the general incident that happened to her. "It seems you still have trauma since that day," William sighed, before adding, "just listen to me, will you? I don't care if you don't want to help me after that, but for now I need to know a lot about what happened, about your plans to stop him, and why you failed…"
