Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master
Chapter 1328: Becky
"Our plans? Why did we fail? Hahaha, we never ever tried to come near that maniac in the first place!" She hysterically laughed, as if William said the silliest thing in the world, "who is mad enough to try and seek death by himself? We heard stories, and we never took such stories lightly from our sources! No one is sane enough to stand voluntarily against him, no one!"
"You are wrong," William calmly smiled, "I'm one of those who pledged to stand against it. And yeah, let me tell you something, even if you tried your best to evade death, it would still come and look for you, like how it did before!"
William didn't stand next to her after saying that, he turned around and walked to a spacious area. He wanted to start working on the formation materials, preparing as many as he could before he would run out of time.
"You are mistaken, it's only because…"
"No matter what silly excuse you'll say, I don't want to hear it," William harshly interrupted her, "as whatever reason you'll give, you'll be terribly wrong about it. You want to know why?"
He momentarily paused, tilted his head and gave her a long glance, "It's because that son of btch will keep hunting you down till you are dead, as it never lets anyone posing a threat to it live no matter what!"
"Speaking about it as if you really know that monster," she gave William a deep and long look, as if she was trying to look through him, look way beneath the flesh and bones, "I really want nothing more right now but to see your fate, I'm sure I can understand where you are coming from…"
"Don't!" William interrupted her in a calm yet decisive way, "never try to take a look on my fate, or else you'll suffer from a deadly backlash!"
"Deadly? Only rare individuals can give me a backlash, not to mention deadly one…"
"Let me guess," William finished taking out his equipment and the leftover from the materials he used before, then turned to her and added, "when that fox attacked you, you were trying to see through its fate and destiny, right? And right there you lost most of your strongest masters…"
"That was because of that damn monster!" She gritted her teeth, said in a low and yet heavy tone.
"Nope, that's not what happened," William didn't need to dig to know what exactly happened. From the look on her face, he could tell masters from the Mystic Arts in the upper realm were quite careless!
When he warned her not to look into his fate, she took his words lightly as if a deadly backlash was a thing of a myth! That was wrong! From what William learnt, backlash was the risk, the only risk, involved in that type of business. And if she didn't take this risk seriously then it meant masters up there didn't as well.
That was a red flag for William. "What happened is that your strongest cardinals and grand cardinals tried to see the fate of the fox, ending up suffering deadly backlash."
"..." She looked ready to battle him about this, yet she stopped. "You can't argue your way out of this," William sighed, returning to do what he intended with these materials, "I already tried to see through that enemy, and failed. I know what I'm talking about, so don't try to fool me here!"
"..." She wanted to say he was wrong, and yet she didn't open her lips at all. Deep within her spirit, she knew what he said was right, "if you know all this, then why are you interested in getting to know everything about the order up there?"
"The order? Interesting nickname," William paused for a moment, realising that the Mystic Art masters picked a nice name for themselves, "I don't know how many masters are left, but I can guess they are a force to be reckoned with, right?"
"We are scattered, hidden, but yes you are right," she paused, "don't tell me you plan on unifying all of us, lead us to fight that…"
"I don't intend on doing any of that," William paused when he realised he didn't get the materials he asked for from Sloth, Fang, and others, "those old masters, they are slow, terribly slow!"
He had to either work with whatever he had right now or wait for them to deliver. He sent an urgent message to Sloth, asking him to hurry.
"Then… If you don't want to use our help to fight against that monster, why do you want to learn more about us? You aren't curious about our ways, considering you are a cardinal yourself!" She finally got her curiosity piqued.
William didn't give her a heed, only kept preparing the materials he had. He found lots of materials left from before, but they were far from enough!
He still didn't know how vast the places where his friends and other forces would pick to let the bombs explode at! A single mistake would result in a catastrophe! So, he planned to do his best and work with his full power to prepare all the materials he could get.
"Come on, don't ignore a fine lady like this," as he kept ignoring her, she couldn't help but stand in his way, stopping him in track, while placing her slender arms around his neck.
"What do you want? Can't you tell how busy I am?" William shrugged himself free from her arms, before resuming his work.
"It wasn't me who kept pestering me about the order," the lady paused, before extending a hand to William, "my name is Becky, nice to meet you, fellow cardinal!"
"Nice to meet you too," William didn't shake her hand, instead dashed around and continued his work.
"If you may, can you tell me what you want from us? Why do you want to know all this information about the order?"
