Reincarnation Paradise Park
Chapter 351 - 52: Bait
CHAPTER 351: CHAPTER 52: BAIT
Kalifa frowned and instinctively took a step back.
"You’re sexually harassing me."
"The time at the City of Seven Seas banquet was."
Su Xiao scrutinized Kalifa and quickly averted his gaze.
"What exactly is your aim?"
"..."
Su Xiao didn’t speak. He was observing the area around the drawbridge through his scope.
"Hey, I’m talking to you!"
Kalifa looked at Su Xiao with displeasure, but he still paid her no mind.
"You...!"
Kalifa stopped mid-sentence as Su Xiao looked at her with a warm smile, making her scalp tingle.
"I’ve recently invented a new bomb. Want to try it? It’s strawberry flavored."
Kalifa quickly retreated a few steps and assumed a fighting stance, having a phobia of alchemy bombs.
"You can either stand guard or leave, just don’t distract me."
While Su Xiao was observing the area around the drawbridge, a man in forest combat attire lay prone on top of a tall building on the front island, holding a sniper rifle, not daring to show his head.
The sniper looked towards the Justice Tower with lingering fear, recalling the earlier scene he witnessed.
"Two shots to take one down, at least a purple-quality sniper rifle."
The sniper’s eyes filled with greed, but it quickly subsided when he glanced at his own blue-quality sniper rifle, realizing he could last no more than five minutes in a shootout.
This sniper, who was scared out of his wits, chose to stay hidden and wait for the right moment.
"Man, that’s a true expert, not even bothering to hide while sniping. Completely like a cannon tower."
The sniper sighed, admiring Su Xiao’s brazen sniping strategy, shooting openly and not letting the enemy raise their heads.
He didn’t know that Su Xiao never sought sniping points, simply choosing a high spot and shooting as enemies approached, not caring about taking a few hits himself.
On the top of the Judicial Tower, after observing for a while, Su Xiao spotted no contractors.
"Bu Bu, prepare to go down and collect the loot."
Su Xiao wrapped the Boundary Line around the small saddle on Bubu Wang’s back, as Bubu Wang needed it during combat to escape quickly with Su Xiao if things went south.
Su Xiao planned to lower Bubu Wang down and then pull him back up with the Boundary Line once he collected all the Scarlet Cards.
Bubu Wang looked down reluctantly at the dozens of meters below, whimpered, and seemed to be saying: ’Master, I’m afraid of heights. Can I not go down?’
"Woof."
Bubu Wang’s final protest.
"Be good, and I’ll take you to find pretty lady dogs next time."
Bubu Wang’s eyes sparkled, his head lifted high, and his fear of heights disappeared, not wanting to stay single.
Just as Su Xiao was about to lower Bubu Wang, he noticed a shadow moving in the distance.
Without hesitation, he picked up the sniper rifle. Through the scope, Su Xiao saw four sneaky contractors.
The four contractors were peering from behind a building, two men and two women.
A petite girl timidly said, "We should leave. This is obviously a trap. Look at how miserably those people died."
She wrapped her arms around herself after speaking.
"Yeah, it’s terrifying. Four Scarlet Cards and two Soul Crystals, and no one has picked them up."
A schoolgirl also wanted to leave, looking towards the group’s leader, part of a small adventure group.
"We obviously can’t go to the Justice Tower. Leaving like this would be too big a loss; all our Paradise Coins together are less than sixty thousand, and we’ll lose equipment for sure."
The team leader was a middle-aged fat man donned in iron armor, holding a shield.
"Stay here, and I’ll grab the loot and run."
The middle-aged man gave a sly grin. Scavenging enemy spoils was immensely satisfying. He had guessed there was likely a sniper atop the tower, but he had a shield and full green to blue-quality defense gear, along with high physical attributes.
"We’d better not go."
The schoolgirl sensed doom, as the surroundings were too quiet.
"We must. People from the God Emperor Adventure Group and Phantom Troupe are behind us. We can’t face them. Once we get the goods, we’ll jump into the sea to escape from over there. We’re already pinned in."
The middle-aged man, after saying this, raised his shield and stepped out from behind cover, his first target being the small Soul Crystal on the grass.
Scarlet Cards might not yield good items, but Soul Crystals were valuable, whether for personal use or selling.
Atop the Judicial Tower, Su Xiao placed his finger on the trigger; the shield didn’t matter, if a few shots wouldn’t suffice, he’d go for a dozen.
The fat man slowly advanced, getting closer to the Soul Crystal on the ground.
Six meters, four meters, three meters.
As he neared the Soul Crystal, the fat man gripped his shield ever tighter.
Su Xiao gently pulled the trigger, and the Spider Queen let out a soft gunshot.
Bang.
The bullet shot out at high speed, heading for the shield in front of the fat man.
Ding!
The bullet ricocheted off, causing the middle-aged fat man to stagger back half a meter and fall to the ground.
"How can there be such strong kinetic energy?"
The middle-aged fat man’s hands were numb, and seeing the dented shield, his first reaction was to retreat to cover.
Unfortunately, it was too late, greed is original sin.
Bang, bang, bang...
Su Xiao continuously pulled the trigger, one bullet after another the length of an index finger hit the shield, sparks flew, and dents appeared on the shield, plowing the middle-aged fat man back several meters.
When the gunfire ceased, the middle-aged fat man’s hands were cracked, and his left wrist was twisted and deformed.
"Captain."
The schoolgirl peeked out from behind a building and shouted.
Crack, cement splattered, and the schoolgirl quickly retracted her head, blood marks appearing on her cheeks.
"Cap... can the captain still come back?"
The delicate girl had tears in her eyes, but no one answered her; their captain might have returned.
Bang, bang...
The gunfire continued, and after taking more than a dozen shots, the middle-aged fat man could no longer hold onto the shield, which got knocked away, and the bones in his arms were fractured in multiple places.
His body was directly exposed to the enemy’s gunfire; the middle-aged fat man knew he was finished.
Crack, crack, blood mist splattered, the middle-aged fat man’s leg and chest were pierced through, and the gunfire stopped.
The middle-aged fat man crawled on the ground with difficulty, leaving a trail of blood; he wanted to crawl back behind cover, but the schoolgirl rushed out from cover, trying to drag the middle-aged fat man back behind it.
"Don’t come over! It’s a trap, the enemy is doing it on purpose, many perverted snipers use the wounded to lure the enemy."
The middle-aged fat man shouted, but the schoolgirl charged forward regardless.
Su Xiao was not a perverted sniper; he just ran out of bullets, which was quite awkward.
Quickly, he ejected the magazine, loaded three bullets, inserted the clip back in, smoothly pulled the bolt back, and aimed the scope at the schoolgirl.
The schoolgirl had already dragged the middle-aged fat man a long way, almost reaching cover.
Bang, a bullet passed through the schoolgirl’s shoulder, and one of her arms was blown away, knocking her down onto the middle-aged fat man.
Just as Su Xiao prepared to finish off the two, two more people rushed out from behind the building.
Bang, bang. Two shots brought down one, a bullet missed, and one male Contractor narrowly escaped.
Su Xiao quickly reloaded, yet the male Contractor recklessly risked his life to throw the three wounded behind the building; his expression seemed conflicted, as if it were against his will.
Su Xiao quickly loaded a bullet and aimed at the male Contractor.
Bang, a headshot! Su Xiao frowned, realizing he wasn’t a Contractor.
The area behind the building became silent, but there was no need to think about it; the three were hiding behind it.
"One Brothers save Grandpa, sending them one by one, but the friendship runs deep."
Su Xiao calmly ejected the magazine and started reloading.
Behind the building, the middle-aged fat man gasped heavily, never having imagined facing such a terrifying sniper with bullets that were so powerful.
"Captain, Souichirou is dead, I guess I’ll need to make another summon; I didn’t think the forced control would work, so before it failed, I had to rush out myself."
Even though the schoolgirl’s arm was broken, she laughed, as none of her teammates had died, only a summon was lost.
"Let’s find a place to jump into the sea and escape; indeed, we’re not qualified to go to the Justice Tower. I was too greedy; earlier I chose not to take advantage on the Front Island while still thinking of getting rich at the Justice Tower overnight."
The three Contractors supported each other and left, and they learned a bloody lesson today about not being greedy.
Su Xiao waited a while, realizing nothing was happening, and knew those Contractors had left. He sent Bubu down, and Bubu joyfully picked up four Scarlet Cards, two Soul Crystals, and a 6000-point Paradise Coin Savings Card.
When Su Xiao pulled Bubu up, its mouth was full, its cheeks puffed up high like a greedy hamster.
He put away the Scarlet Cards and Soul Crystals and used the Paradise Coin Savings Card directly.
"Robin, we’re here to rescue you!"
A loud shout came from the rooftop closest to the Justice Tower on the main island.
Su Xiao took a closer look and saw that it was none other than Monkey D. Luffy. He raised his sniper rifle and fired directly.
Bang.
Luffy flew back several meters, disappearing from the edge of the rooftop, rolling a few times on the ground before stopping.
The bullet from the Spider Queen was special ammunition, incredibly fast, and Su Xiao felt he couldn’t dodge it. As it turned out, even a story protagonist like Luffy couldn’t dodge it.
Luffy’s body wasn’t pierced; as a Rubber Fruit Ability User, his body was highly elastic, able to absorb the bullet’s kinetic energy. Still, a blood stain appeared on his shoulder.
Luffy was left bewildered by this shot, and it wasn’t just Luffy; the CP9 leader Spandam inside the Justice Tower was also bewildered. He heard someone shouting earlier, but after looking for a long time, he couldn’t find anyone.
"What the hell."
Just as Spandam turned his head, another shout came from outside.
"Who ambushed me!"
Once again, it was Luffy’s voice shouting.
Bang! A faint gunshot sound.
Spandam turned to look out the window, still unable to see anyone...
