CHAPTER 337: CHAPTER 338: DECORATING THE NEW HOME 4
After more than an hour on the bus, they finally arrived downtown.
The truck parked at the entrance of a mall, the driver waited in the vehicle, and Nianyang, Xu Zhiyi, and the others linked arms and entered the mall to start picking out items to buy.
Xu Zhiyi and the others planned to buy some yarn to knit sweaters for their men, whereas Nianyang had a longer shopping list; going downtown wasn’t easy.
She wanted to buy all the household items and various ingredients in one go; since there was space to store things, it was inconvenient bringing Xu Zhiyi and the others along.
So Nianyang suggested they split up: let Xu Zhiyi and the others go to buy yarn while she first went to the underground food market to buy some meat. They agreed to meet back at the original spot in half an hour to buy household goods together. This way, they’d have enough time for everything.
Of course Xu Zhiyi and the others agreed happily, Xu Zhiyi reminded Nianyang to stay safe, and then set off with Lin Xia and Bai Xueli to buy yarn.
With no outsiders around, Nianyang felt much more at ease, and immediately headed toward the food market, first visiting the rice section to buy various premium white rice.
She bought rice for boiling porridge, rice for cooking meals, as well as flour and noodles, stocking up on a month’s supply with three hefty burlap bags.
To avoid being seen, Nianyang dragged the rice to a deserted alley and stored it away, then made her way to the second floor where they sold meat.
When buying meat, Nianyang didn’t hesitate for a second. While others haggled and compared prices at length, she went straight in and bought out the entire stock at the stall.
She also didn’t spare the chicken, duck, and fish from the neighboring stalls.
Onlookers stared in disbelief at the young girl’s lavish spending spree, silently wondering which family’s little girl was so wasteful.
Nianyang didn’t care what others thought; she wanted to seize the opportunity today to stock up on everything she needed. Thankfully, she had enough money and didn’t feel the pinch when spending.
After scouring the meat section, Nianyang used her technique to store everything away.
As for vegetables and such, Nianyang had planted many varieties in the space the night she arrived, so she didn’t need to buy any more.
Having sorted out the basic food needs, Nianyang went on to buy various seasonings used for stir-frying, as well as bowls, pots, and jars, all stored in her space.
Phew~
Thankfully she had the storage space, otherwise she certainly wouldn’t finish buying everything today—it would take several days to complete.
Wiping the sweat from her brow, Nianyang headed to the clothing section on the third floor, spending over two hundred yuan on matching jackets for Xu Zhiyi, Lin Xia, and Bai Xueli, as a gift for meeting them.
With more than ten minutes left until half an hour was up, Nianyang leisurely returned in the direction she had come, and as she passed a small restaurant, she saw a crowd discussing something about a fatal accident.
Could someone be in trouble?
Nianyang frowned, her medical sense of duty compelled her to walk in, and she saw a woman lying in the center with a blue face, convulsing and gasping for air.
Beside the woman, a handsome man was pressing her shoulder with one hand and lifting her chin with the other to prevent her from biting her tongue, urgently shouting,
"I’m a doctor, this lady has food poisoning and needs urgent rescue. Who can help me here?"
Upon hearing this, the surrounding people remained motionless. Under such emergency circumstances, seeing that the woman was about to lose it, who would dare assist, fearful of taking the blame if something went wrong?
