Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by his Brother
Chapter 352: _ Wolves Vs. Demon
CHAPTER 352: _ WOLVES VS. DEMON
The clash between me and Luis erupted like a calamity, sudden and disastrous. In my full werewolf form, I was an entity of unbridled power. There were very few people in the entire pack who could stand up to me. However, Luis seemed to be doing very well.
Despite the heavy blows I landed, his taunting smile remained if I wasn’t worthy of his fury like I was merely a bug compared to his unfathomable power.
I knew it. From all the sinister powers that Luis had displayed over the past few months, I knew I was no match for him. However, I felt power coursing through me like never before. Perhaps it was because I understood that this was the final battle.
If I failed to bring him down now, everything I cherished would be taken away from me. So I fought— I fought like there was no tomorrow, because frankly, if Luis managed to cinch victory, that was exactly what would happen.
There would be no future for me, for María José, or for the pack.
"All my strength is yours to use, Axel! We have to bring this bastard to his knees, right here, right now!" Hugo snarled within me.
I growled fiercely as I lunged at him, swiping my fearsome claws at his face. He blocked with his robust arms and sent his foot flying towards my abdomen.
I twisted my upper body just in time, barely dodging the attack, as I tackled him to the floor.
...Or so I thought.
Luis’s figure suddenly burst into a swath of shadows, becoming intangible so that I couldn’t grab him. He reappeared behind me and cackled tauntingly.
His voice was guttural, and a stench of sulfur assaulted my senses when he spoke, "It’s so amusing to see you fight so desperately, Axel. You poor thing. Come on, entertain me more!"
This bastard!
It pissed me off to see that he was merely using me as a plaything. However, I didn’t let his taunts get to me, and I continued to fight with everything I had in me.
I lunged at him once more, and we traded heavy blows. Luis’s fist struck my jaw, and I felt my brain rattle. I staggered backwards and quickly went into a defensive stance. Just as I had anticipated, he rushed towards me, trying to overwhelm me with attacks.
I raised both my arms as he launched a barrage of blows towards my face. The blows were heavy, and I felt myself staggering backwards.
Luis’s lips cracked into a wide grin as he pulled out a shifty dark blade from nowhere and sent it flying towards me. I ducked, evading the strange weapon by a fur’s breadth, before throwing the chair in the room at him.
Using that as a deflection, I charged in from the left side and sent a blow straight to his rib.
Luis’s giant demon form swayed. His eyes flashed with what I assumed to be surprise as he said, "That was a pretty strong hit. Have you been training, little Axel?"
He swiped his claws forward, and I jumped back swiftly.
"You know nothing of the bottomless malice in the human heart," I said, my eyes red with fury. "You may be stronger than me, Luis— You may possess sinister powers that I cannot even begin to understand... but I promise you that I will kill you today."
Luis’s smile turned a little forced. He suddenly laughed. He laughed so hard that the trashed room seemed to bloom with evil.
Luis stopped laughing and pointed his clawed finger at me, saying, "I am starting to find you annoying."
Just as he had said that, a dark object that I couldn’t discern shot out from his fingertip. In the next moment, I felt something stab into my chest. My fur was rapidly stained with a crimson liquid.
My mouth opened in surprise. I looked down and saw a tiny blade sticking out of me.
That was way too fast! I could barely see the attack!
I growled and tore the blade out of my chest, before crushing it back to its shadowy form.
"You see, Axel." Luis began. "I can kill you whenever I want. Do you know why I haven’t?"
He laughed. "Because I want you to suffer first. I will take every other person’s life first, and then have María José while I make you watch. Then, and only then, will I finally kill you."
"Speak about my wife one more time, Luis. And I will rip your tongue out." I growled fiercely.
Luis laughed. He was about to speak, when suddenly, the damaged walls of the room came crashing down. Amidst the dust and falling debris, several figures arrived before the room.
I glanced behind me.
"About damn time!" I clicked my tongue when I saw Álvaro and several guards appear by the collapsed doorway.
Álvaro barked from behind me, "It’s him, right?! He’s the damn witch who killed my mother?!"
I nodded as the wound in my chest slowly healed. "He’s the demon who has been tormenting our pack all this time. This is my order: The demon before us shall not escape this villa. He will be killed right here and now!"
"As you command!" The guards echoed simultaneously.
Álvaro’s body burgeoned as his clothes ripped completely. He had also shifted into his complete werewolf form as he came to stand beside me.
"We should have killed you long ago, while you were still in that wheelchair. Your presence was always a stain in this household, you disgusting creature!" Álvaro spat with contempt, and Luis’s amused smile finally crumbled.
He took a step towards us, his footsteps creating heavy thuds.
"You’ll be the next to die, Álvaro," Luis said in a chillingly low tone.
"You can try." My brother growled fiercely.
Both of us shot forward immediately, and the guards swept in from various corners. We surrounded Luis and descended upon him in a whirlwind of claws and fangs.
Luis didn’t move for a moment. His demonic form almost tore through the ceiling as he suddenly spat out a sentence in an unfamiliar language.
In the next instant—before any of our attacks could land—the shadows in the room came alive as they shot out from corners to stab us from multiple angles.
Something stabbed my hind leg and I gritted my teeth in pain.
All around me, the agonizing screams of the guards filled the room.
