Rejected Luna: Untamed Desire Of The Lycan Alpha
Chapter 353: Madness (II)
CHAPTER 353: MADNESS (II)
The sound of footsteps echoed behind them, and Inez raised her head to look at the man leading the rest of the guards. One of them was wearing the uniform of the council, and Inez knew that this man must have some different status than Gilderoy and the flustered-looking man.
"Evening, Noah, Mister Jones." Killian glanced at the two men who came along with Ajax and Laxus.
The man named Noah was calm, while Mr Jones, on the other hand, was beside himself. With his eyes hardened like chips of ice, he demanded, "What do you think you are doing, Alpha Sokolov? I don’t remember this case being handed to you."
Muscles rippled underneath his shirt, each movement deliberate and controlled as Killian turned to look at the man who spoke to him. The tattoos on his arms shimmered under the moonlight, giving him an even dangerous look. His shoulders were slightly tense, and Killian tilted his head to one side ever so slightly that the difference couldn’t be noticed. "You dare demand questions from me? Tell me, Jones. With whose authority did you capture my mate and throw her in prison? Who gave you the right to do so? And to question me? Do you think you are worthy of that?"
Mister Jones lowered his head instinctively in submission, but he still turned and looked at the man who was responsible for taking care of the culprits. "What is happening here ?"
"He wants to take the murderer who killed Alpha Remy’s mate." When Gilderoy saw that his life had been preserved, his courage emboldened once again, and he tattled to Mister Jones and Noah. "He claims this woman to be his mate, but I don’t see his mark on her."
"Nonsense!" Mister Jones’ eyes widened in anger. He was certain that this was nothing more than a ploy to make him look like a fool in front of the council. "Don’t you dare intervene, Alpha Sokolov. These two women are the culprits who killed Lola; you cannot just claim one of them as your mate and try to disrupt the flow of the case and the investigation. I will not let you." He almost roared those last few words in his flurry to avoid this case slipping out of his hands. He turned to look at Gilderoy and said to him, "You! Take these women back to the cells."
Gilderoy was more than happy to comply. As long as Inez was under his authority, he would have the chance to get what he wanted. He called his subordinates and ordered them, "Go and capture these two women and dump them where they belong, don’t let anyone stop you."
He glanced at Killian as he spoke.
Inez’s throat burned when Killian curled his lips, and suddenly she realised that the world was filled with all kinds of fools. What were these people even thinking? It was clear that Killian was an inch away from exploding, and yet they dared to push him? There was no way anyone was going to escape from this mess unscathed. Even she would be burned in the aftermath.
Noah glanced at Killian, who was smiling, but there was something wrong with that smile of his. "I will suggest that we sit down and talk things through." The man suggested, even though he seemed to be on the edge of losing control.
"I don’t need you to tell me what I need to do." Mister Jones, on the other hand, was blinded by his greed to become a member of the inner circle that he couldn’t sense the danger that was right in front of him. He pursed his lips and commanded, "Throw these two women in the prison cell, mate of the lycan heir or not—I do not care. They are criminals and they will be treated like one."
"Alpha Jones—," Noah began because he realised that the man had crossed a line unknowingly. His voice was stiff and wary as he eyed the man in front of him. He knew lycans too well and also knew how protective they were of their mates. If this woman was really Killian’s mate, then as much as he disliked the very existence of the lycans, he wanted to solve this matter as delicately as possible.
Sweat trickled down his forehead when he noticed the grin that broke out on Killian’s lips. "We need to discuss this matter properly."
However, Alpha Jones waved his hand and said carelessly, "There are fifty of us and just three of them. I want to see what they can do. Have you forgotten how they broke into the prison’s building with the help of a witch?" The receptionist and guards had relayed all about what the witch did to them, and Alpha Jones was prepared to file everything against Killian in his report.
"Ajax, Laxus."
The two lycans shifted almost immediately as if Killian’s command had moved their bodies on their own.
Two massive lycans appeared beside him and Inez closed her eyes. Uh oh. Things were going to become really troublesome now and maybe bloody—a hell lot of bloody.
Killian commanded without even paying attention to Alpha Jones’ expression, which had turned really, really panicked, like he had just messed up right before the parents’ meet in school. "Re–educate these people for me. It seems like they have forgotten about the might and positions of Lycans. The top predators. I will take care of everything."
The command barely registered in the heads of everyone present in the clearing when the two lycans jumped. Inez didn’t even have the time to scream when Ajax, she thought it was Ajax, clamped his jaw around the head of a guard and tore it off his shoulders, sending blood and the body toppling backwards.
"NO!" Mister Jones screamed. He looked at the gory sight in front him and was stunned to his core.
Noah, on the other hand, unsheathed his claws. He stepped forward and warned, "Stop this madness now, Alpha Sokolov."

I will be going on a week’s short trip. If the updates are not constant, please try to forgive me, my fairies.
