CHAPTER 354: DEMIGOD OF LOVE (I)

The guard’s agonised scream morphed into a howl as he shifted. His bones started to crack and reform in an instant. But even when the guard turned into a gigantic wolf, he was still like a dwarf in the face of Laxus, who was considerably shorter than Killian.

The guards fell back as the lycans’ dominance scattered all over the air around them. The sound of shifting and reforming erupted all over the clearing. Wolves surged forward along with the half-blood vampires who had been hired by the shifters to do their bidding. Teeth bared, growling and snarling. The entire surroundings were filled with the cries of war.

Scarlet dodged just as a wolf lunged at her and rushed in Inez’s direction. She pushed her behind and turned her front to the wolves, who were determined to drag the two of them away.

"Take those women away at all costs," Gilderoy commanded just as the wolves around him erupted in another fit of snarls and roars.

There were too many of them, and yet none of them seemed to be a match for Laxus and Ajax. Power seemed to radiate off them in waves, and Inez started to feel a bit nauseous. She was a half-blood shifter, and their dominance made her retch. It made everything inside of her twist and turn.

Laxus released the wolf who had attacked him, and the wolf scampered back, only to be flanked by two large red and brown wolves. The three of them were staring at Laxus with their lips peeled back in vicious snarls.

They lunged at Laxus, and the clash sounded like thunder had struck the ground. Bodies were colliding in fury of teeth and claws, and Inez could see the fury that was radiating off Killian. He was playing with them. His eyes were calm and collected as he stared at the sight in front of him, but there was that little sadistic glint in his eyes as if he liked what he was seeing.

These guards didn’t even know that there was no other way out of this mayhem and chaos other than death.

"Stop this madness, Killian," Mister Jones, apoplectic with rage, shouted at Killian. "Seth and the other members of the inner council will not be happy with what you have done."

The sound of footsteps echoed behind them, and Dominic, along with Tao, also rushed over after hearing the chaos that had erupted in the prison building. The man looked at Killian, who had killed several of the council guards, and then turned his gaze to Inez, whose appearance had slowly returned to her usual self.

In the panic and hurry of escaping the prison, she had exhausted herself, making it impossible for her fake appearance to stay intact.

"Inez!"

Inez shuddered in terror when she heard Dominic’s voice. That voice brought all kinds of horrors that she had faced, including the video that she had seen on that horrendous site.

However, a second later, her ears were covered and she could no longer hear anything. But before silence fell all over, she heard Killian say, "Don’t listen. He is not worth it."

"KILLIAN!" Dominic roared, bursting forward. "You took her! How dare you take away my mate from me?"

The first to whip his head toward him was Mister Jones. The man looked at Dominic and then at Killian. His eyes popped wildly out of their sockets as he tried to think of what was going on. Before the chaos erupted, Killian admitted that this woman was his mate, and now Dominic was asserting that she was his mate. Just what the hell was going on?

"Can anyone tell me what is going on?" Mr Jones raised his voice.

However, no one paid attention to him.

Killian smiled at Dominic, correcting him, "Your ex-mate, Alpha Cherith. You cannot claim my mate to be yours when you have rejected her."

"Killian—"

There was an odd sort of crunch, and everyone turned to look at Gilderoy, who had tried to take advantage of the situation and drag Inez away, only for his hand to be twisted.

"Alpha Sokolov, you have already crossed all the boundaries tonight," Noah spoke evenly. "Even if you have the head of the council looking after you, there are some things that you cannot just do because you like it."

"Exactly," Mister Jones spoke up while hiding behind Noah. His eyes were fixated on Killian as he spoke to him in a haughty voice, "How can you kill these guards for the sake of this woman? Even if she is—I don’t know, related to the two of you, she is a criminal —"

"We could have sat down and talked about this calmly. Like I told you, I was quite eager to do that just a few seconds ago. But you refused even when I clearly stated that this woman was not the one who killed Alpha Remy’s mate." Killian calmly shifted his gaze to the man speaking. "Seth sent me on a mission connected to Lola’s death. I believe that he also passed down the orders that the culprits shouldn’t be subjected to any torment unless they were proven guilty." He looked at Inez and Scarlet suddenly, and the two women stiffened at once. Not because they were scared, but because there was something maniacal in the man’s eyes. "I don’t see the orders being followed."

"That’s how the criminals are treated." Gilderoy winced in pain as the man twisted his arm until an ugly crack resounded in the clearing.

"AHHH!!" the vampire screamed as he started to struggle hard against the grip of the man. His bone had been snapped in half, and the rage that rushed through his head and heart made him act on impulse. He twisted around on his feet and lunged at Killian, only for the man to unsheathe his claws, tear open his chest and pull out his heart.

"Alpha Sokolov!" Noah stepped forward. His face twisted in fury. But before he could command the guards to catch Killian, the man shifted on his feet. "And the culprit sits in my car."
