Chapter 280: You Were Wrong Dominic
h4Chapter 280: You Were Wrong Dominic/h4
Even when Tracy told her that she could go outside, Inez didn’t have the slightest wish to stride out of the RV. Something about the way Tracy spoke to her and asked her to go outside and wander screamed, ’Doi not leave the RV.’ Danger Ahead. /iAnd she had no intention of letting her curiosity get the better of her. Even if she knew that there was a very good chance that she might be able to get the answers to her questions, Inez didn’t want to get entangled in another trouble.
However, an hour passed by and then half an hour trickled past in rapid motion. Inez stared at the soft drizzle and frowned. Didn’t Tracy say that she would take an hour or so at most, as the gas station wasn’t too far? Then why had she not returned till now? Inez couldn’t help but wonder, and soon her frustration turned into worry.
Did that witch run into a witch hunter? Did she get lost? Did she fucking die or what? Because if she were alive, why did she note back?
Inez looked around the ce where they were stranded, only to see trees and more trees. There were no traces of human establishment or any signs around where the RV hade to a stop after the gas ran out.
"Awesome," she clicked her tongue while staring out of the window. Inez had been staring outside for a while now, and she hadn’t seen even the smallest trace of the woman returning, which only made her worries intensify. She thought about Tracy and then Killian. She wondered if the man was losing his shit in the territory.
There was no screaming and yelling in the pack bond, but after getting involved with witches, she knew better than to trust the pack bonds. Witches had this way of blocking the pack bond, something that Inez had learned the hard way. So, there was no point in relying on it for the time being.
She got to her feet and paced the RV, hoping for the witch to return in another ten minutes or so, but when she didn’t, Inez decided to do something crazy. She decided to go out and search for Tracy. Yeah, of course she knew. How could stepping out of the RV and going to look for her friend be crazy? But with how fate had been testing her, Inez knew that something crazy was about to happen very soon.
So, taking a very deep breath, she pushed open the door of the RV and then stepped out of the vehicle. With her eyes darting around, she waited for another attack or something equally weird to happen, but nothing happened. The forest stretched on for miles, and so did the silence. Other than the rustling of the tree leaves and the soft drizzle of rain, she didn’t hear anything.
Inez frowned, and she did it hard.
Hesitation was running high, but so was her frustration. She needed to go back to the Blood Hill pack lest things be problematic. Thest thing she wanted was for Killian to lose his temper and hunt her down. The pack needed his attention and presence; she couldn’t let that man run amok looking for her, which would only bring discontent in the pack against her.
Letting out a curse, Inez marched down the street. Hoping to find the gas station that Tracy was speaking about.
"Where is this ce?" she muttered as she tapped on the screen of her phone. Even after searching the location more than ten times, Inez couldn’t detect any name or pinpoint the location where she and Tracy had been stranded. Thework of the phone did not seem to be working; the app that she was using to detect her location still had the dots circling like it was loading, but couldn’t because of theck ofwork.
What kind of ce did Tracy bring her to?
Not to mention her suspicions were getting the best of her. Did Tracy bring her here because she had some other intention like killing her and then burying her alive or something of the sort? What? The woman might have saved her life once but that alone wasn’t enough for Inez to trust her. What if Tracy saved her life only to momentarily gain her trust and then attack her when she had lowered her guard?
All kinds of thoughts started to fill her head as Inez walked down the street. She was using her phone as a torch sincethere was nowork, reducing her once fine working phone to nothing but a small tin box. The sound of the leaves crunching underneath her shoes echoed in the distant forest, and filling the gaps were her heavy breaths.
She heaved and panted as she climbed up the steep road which got steeper and steeper with each step. Her siren within her rolled her eyes, annoyed with theck of effort that Inez was putting in; most probably, she thought that her human side’s physical abilities were not up to the notch but could this be med on her?
She hadn’t run for days!
By the time Inez climbed up the slope, her calves were shaking and she was inches away from fainting. Her eyes were tuning in and out of focus as she stared at the t road in front of her. If not for the fact that it wasn’t hygienic, she truly wanted to kneel down and kiss the t surface. Finally, the horrendous torture was over!
She shut her eyes and inhaled sharply. Her hands were resting on her knees as she tried to ease her thumping heart. Once her breathing eased, she straightened up and started walking down the path. She hoped that whatever gas station that Tracy was talking about was right ahead or else she was going to lose her mind!
Her siren let out a snort.
iYou said that three times already and I can see that you are quite sane. /i
iStop taking things in a literal sense and everything will be fine. /i
Another snort.
