Dominic turned around and looked at the guards who were shoving and pushing someone to the dungeons, he frowned when he caught a familiar mane of red. He took a step close to the guards, meaning to see who the woman was—
"Alpha Cherith!"
Dominic paused and turned to look at the elder behind him and frowned. "Elder Norman?"
"Come with me," Elder Norman ushered him to his office. "There is something that I wish to talk to you about."
There was nothing, absolutely nothing that Dominic wished to talk with Elder Norman about. However, the man had been nothing but polite to him, if he raised his hackles and ignored Elder Norman as well, then he might be making an enemy out of every single person in the council for this man’s influence reached wider and higher than his own.
"Sure." Dominic agreed. He then looked over his shoulders and questioned, "What is going on there?"
Elder Norman followed his gaze and carelessly brushed the ruckus that was happening at the entrance of the prison. "Its nothing. The mate of Alpha Remy was found dead earlier in the afternoon at the abandoned territory near the Mistvile town. I believe that they found the killer of that woman and are now taking them to the prison cells. This is not something that we should be caring about, when we have our matters to deal with."
Dominic kept staring at the entrance of the dungeons, there was a nagging feeling within his gut that kept telling him that there was something amiss about this entire situation.
"Alpha Cherith?"
"Lets go." Snapping out of his thoughts, he turned around on his feet and headed after Elder Norman, certainly that woman could not be Scarlet. After all she had no reason to appear at the Mistvile town for no reason.

"We didn’t kill her!" Inside the prison cell, Inez raised her hand and banged her fists on the bar. However, the guards had no intentions of listening to them, they harshly pushed Scarlet inside the cell as well and then locked the door of the cell, after making sure that the shifter restraints were properly snug on their wrist.
Inez stared at the blood covered restraints on her hands and felt nauseous. She had been locked up in the cell so many fucking times that Inez had developed a trauma for ces like these. She raised her head and shouted after the guards, "We didn’t kill that woman. We have nothing to do with her."
"Shut your mouth, you bitch!" one of the guards turned around and snapped at her, "You want to tell us that you were just taking a walk around the abandoned territory where no shifter is allowed to enter without the permission of the council?"
Inez choked upon hearing those words. Ah, and that was where things becameplicated. How as she supposed to put her defence forward? iThat sure, I was found near an out of bound territory but I am still innocent? /i
Even in her head, the words sounded stupid as hell!
"I know it doesn’t look nice but we had a reason to be there," shouted Inez but the guards were no longer listening. They were marching out of the dungeons without even looking back at them. Inez watched them leave and the light in her eyes turned dim. She had a very good feeling that whatever this was, it was not going to end well for her.
Scarlet sat up on the ground wincing. She looked at her restraints and blew her hair off her face beforementing, "They sure are way too harsh with their prisoners. If not for the fact that I can smell the blood and decay around this ce, I would have thought that they were running a bondage club."
Spinning around, Inez looked at her sister. "Its not funny!"
"Of course its not funny. But what good will it do for you to scream at the guards? They have made it quite clear that they don’t want to hear a word that you say to them," Scarlet told her. She got to her feet with the restraints around her wrists and walked over to he bars. She peered out through the gaps and clicked her tongue. "Yup, they have no intention of listening to a word that we want to tell them."
"Oh, if only I had told Killian where I was going," Inez felt a wave of regret when she thought about leaving the lodge without leaving a message to Killian. She thought it was going to be a short trip so she simply told Killian that she was going somewhere with Scarlet. Never did she think that she would end up walking on a myrder scene. "At least then he would have gone to look for me if I didn’t return." She plopped down on the small, wooden nk of a bed inside the prison cell.
"He will still go looking for you even if you hadn’t told him anything," Scarlet flicked her gaze at Inez who raised her head.
"What?" she asked.
"Did you tell Killian about you and Dominic?"
Suddenly, Inez found herself getting busy admiring with the shoes that she was wearing. "I don’t understand what you are trying to say? Whats there to tell him? He knows that Dominic betrayed me."
"You know thats not what I wanted to ask you. I wanted to know why you haven’t told him everything, and don’t lie to me. I know you didn’t say anything about what you went through or how Dominic tormented you."
Of course she didn’t. She didn’t want Killian to see that pathetic side of her where she was on her knees and begging Dominic to let her live. It made her weak, vulnerable and scared. What if Killian realised that it was not that easy to break her? Would he still see her as the strong Inez Sinir whom he could make the Luna of his pack?
